    I love using Mica Powder in my homemade wax melts

    Would you still get that effect if you didn’t use the black alcohol ink? What is the significance of using the black ink?

      I don't think you would get quite the contrast but it would still swirl around I'm sure. It just wouldn't look as extreme. Also when the power would settle it would just be clear.

      @@weirdandwonderful thank you. I really liked this effect! I just was wondering if other similar colors to the mica were used, would it just look blah. I’m going to experiment a little. Thanks again for your quick reply. Love your insights and your crafts!

      @@marialovescrafting3190 I think it would look just fine you're just going to end up with a different contrast.. like if you put pink with it pretty sure it'll just give you pink swirls. I will try it! Maybe I'll try it with red and green and see what it looks like.

    What would be a good substitute for the alcohol ink? Could I use acrylic paint in place of it? Also does having a bubble make a difference?

      @weirdandwonderful  Před rokem +1

      I've never tried acrylic paint but food coloring is a good alternative

      @@weirdandwonderful thank you! I just seen your other video with the gold & black Halloween potion tumbler & I have a whole box of those food colorings lol but does having a air bubble in the cup make a difference? Does not having any bubble affect its flow or the mica powder?

      @weirdandwonderful  Před rokem

      @@AlaniyansWorld Sorry, forgot to answer that too lol! Doesn't really matter on these if it has an air bubble or not. I find only in dripping oil filled tumblers does it matter if you have air in it or not.

    Instead of using mica powder I have heard you can use eye shadow is this something you have tried?

      @@weirdandwonderful I want to try it but unsure of how to use the eyeshadow. I noticed if you mix it with water it "balls up" instead of incorporating into the water. Could I try maybe adding a drop of dish soap to get rid of the "oiliness"?

    What kind of glue are u using?

    • @weirdandwonderful
      @weirdandwonderful  Před 2 lety +1

      Create basics clear glue but any water based clear glue is fine to use. I also use Elmer's clear glue.

    what is the purpose of the glue?

    • @weirdandwonderful
      @weirdandwonderful  Před 2 lety

      Makes the mica settle slower. You don't have to add it but the mica will settle in the cup more rapidly.
