    What did you use to get the green color? What was in the bottle before you added the blue food coloring? Can I add glitter to the tumbler and then add the water mixture? Beautiful! Thanks

    • @weirdandwonderful
      @weirdandwonderful  Před 2 lety

      Just water and clear glue in the bottle. The green is the result of the gold mica and the blue water mixing together. I have added chunky glitter to one of the tumblers before but haven't done one with a more fine glitter. I will do one next.

    Have you tried any other colours, I really like the colour changing ones. I read that the water can go funny after a while so I used alcohol in my magic potion bottle but can't use that in these! Do you use distilled water? Xx

      I have tried quite a few colors! If you look on my other videos you'll find them. I've done blue and silver and purple and pink a whole bunch of different ones LOL. I can't even remember all of them! They are really fun ones to do and so easy

    So cool 😎 how much water did you use?

    • @weirdandwonderful
      @weirdandwonderful  Před 2 lety +1

      It's about 3/4 cup of water to fill this particular tumbler.

    @melbear’s weird and wonderful can you use alcohol ink instead of food coloring? Will it have the same affect?

    • @weirdandwonderful
      @weirdandwonderful  Před 2 lety

      I'm not sure but I will make one and try!

    • @ElizabethVMoore
      @ElizabethVMoore Před 2 lety

      It will BUT alcohol ink Is toxic isn’t it ? It has all this toxic signs on it. Plastic absorbs too so that prolly wouldn’t be good. I wanted to do this too but seen that the alcohol ink had that and decided it will probably do something safe. Don’t want to make people sick.😩😩

      @@ElizabethVMoore Thanks. It's an easy one to do. Food coloring is much more cost effective than alcohol ink, which is very expensive here. Grocery store food coloring works great.

    How long does it take to settle?

    • @weirdandwonderful
      @weirdandwonderful  Před rokem +1

      Depends how much glycerin or glue you add to it. Mine takes about 45 minutes to settle

  • @deborahjones6485

    You've already had some liquid in the bottle before you added the water @1:14. Is there a step that I am missing??

    • @weirdandwonderful
      @weirdandwonderful  Před 2 lety +1

      No, I typically test what I'm putting in to make sure it does what I think it should before I film it.

    • @weirdandwonderful
      @weirdandwonderful  Před 2 lety +1

      If you let it settle completely you will get one colour if you shake it a little bit you'll get both. If you shake it a lot then you'll get the colour of the mica powder you put into it.

    You might want to use epoxy or like E6000 instead of hot glue for sealing! If you use hot glue and then ever leave it in a hot car, or set it on a metal table or asphalt in the summer , that plug will pop right out! Fantastic video otherwise 👏

    • @weirdandwonderful
      @weirdandwonderful  Před rokem +1

      You know I never even thought about that in hot places! I live pretty far north in Canada and it would be a rare day to get that hot lol! I often have people asking for Alternatives to epoxy as people are allergic to epoxy. I typically seal with uv resin as it's the easiest and most durable.
