I was interested to hear Dr. Baker mention Ngakpa Chögyam’s organization in this context. Yes, he is certainly a fashionable and interesting fellow!

I studied yoga before Tibetan buddhism came to the USA. I practiced yoga tantric sex and other advanced practices (for which I was not prepared.). This appealed to me as I enjoyed practicing special powers. Then I began Mahayana studies and practiced patiently to let go of attachment to power when I took bodhisattva precepts. You don't need a fast car to reach enlightenment.
The first school of Tibetans to show up in California seemed to be the Nigma. Ads in the local paper in the '80's often read, "M seeks F for tantric sex." Through prior yoga practice I knew they had the wrong view. I thought it was really funny!! Just like Christian Nationalists, these people were obsessed with sex. Some sects of buddhism adopted actual physical sex in their practice and others practice tantra within emptiness. Different levels of realization. Thus, householders would generally choose the former, I belong to the latter. I believe a practitioner needs to understand the Six Perfections to the 3rd degree (and thereby realize emptiness) before being of any true benefit to all beings. This is the "secret" of higher trainings. They were also called the "secret teachings" because of they were so misinterpreted. You just cannot get the same realizations with no or only lower level teachings.

As long as the human exist on this earth ( Samsara)....... Buddhadharma was, is and will always the most relevant...... TRUTH. Our Tibetan Monastic system play a vital role in our daily life for all lay people...... absolutely relevant and I disagree with what they had said on this matter.

The Ultimate-JIVAMUKTI-is stabilization n "Emptiness"/"Parabrahman"/"Nirvana"/"Dharmakaya"! Tantra is beneath "It"! If u obtain a ticket 2 fly 2 ur final destination, why learn how 2 build the plane n order 2 become a pilot? Unless, of course, "YOU" want 2! Which is maya ego n maya duality performing maya magick n order 2 reach a transient maya destination! Seems so very Bon, misleading, & unfortunate! But hey, some people have a fine collection of Pet Rocks as well. Good 4 them!🙏 ✌ ❤ 🚬

    Come on guys,
there is no any separate trantric Bhuddhism, it is a system within Mahayana tradition or Sanskrit Tradition Buddhism which has a roots to Pali tradition Buddhism which has a roots to Four Noble Truths.
I know for Western people, everything is business and courses selling, therefore please for the sake of business and money, don't misinterpret the tantric system as a tantric Bhuddhism. If you solely relies on this then you might get mad very very soon in this higher yogic practice.
Western people are so fancies about Esoteric system like Vajrayan that sometime they also think they might have enlightened.🤣🤣🤣
Later end up, becomingblike a mad and living in an illusion
