    One of the most haunting characters in movie history, from one of the best decades... in movie history.

    Totally agreed my friend.And she 's still a very beatiful woman,but also a very great actress.
    The way she played the roll of Miranda in Picnic is astonishing..

    The character Miranda often seems to be not entirely real- almost other-worldly- and is often regarded by others in the film in this same manner. She's not so much a character as she is a catalyst, leading her schoolmates into a different dimension.

    I have to agree that Ann Louis still looks as beautiful as she did in 1975 she definitely is as quoted in the movie a Botticelli angel and despite there now being a mini series I'm keeping my faith with the 1975 movie anything else is immaterial and pointless

    @Quatorzel4 Exactly. Even Anne Lambert in the documentary on the DVD says she didn't believe that is should have anything deleted from it because so much time had past since its production to have made it a classic in a lot of people's eyes. ie, Your exact feelings.
    Even worse, the cut version is the one that got mastered for DVD release.

  • @hereticNick
    @hereticNick  Před 12 lety +2

    @Quatorzel4 The director's cut from 1998 actually cut out 8 minutes of the original print. You probably saw this cut version. These days it is the more common version as that was the version released on DVD.

    She was a kid then. She's now 54.
    I think she looks good for her age.

    At the very end of the scene, when they've gotten out of the boat, Michael tells Irma that he was going to Queensland, whereupon Irma screams "NO!" and runs away.

  • @baraxor
    @baraxor Před 12 lety +2

    If I was to take a blind guess, Peter Weir made the (unfortunate) cuts because he felt that the missing scenes led the viewer to a particular idea concerning the Michael/Miranda/Irma triangle, one that might make the story slightly less enigmatic (if no less supernatural).

    Some things seem eternal.
    An ancient rock.
    A dream remembered from childhood.
    The innocence of the young.
    And after 15 years, Kochi still looks just as silly as always.

    creepy!!! This will always be a creepy movie for me. All of it makes me shudder, but I like it at the same time. I remember being completely freaked out as a kid seeing Irma rescued with all those cuts on her hands etc.

    What does Michael say or do that scares Irma so much? It must have been something very frightening since it changes completely her attitude towards M.

    Juan - Michael asks her what happened and Irma feels uncomfortable because it was such a trauma that her mind has blanked it out. She cannot answer him.
