I only caught the tail end of the 70s dynasty so he was the greatest steeler I ever saw.
He shut Irvin down in the 2nd half of the SB. If Cowher started him in the 1st half they probably win that game.

To me Rod Woodson along with Shannon Sharpe changed the culture of the Ravens. Before those 2 arrived it was a "classically underachieving team" but when those 2 came it turned them into perennial contenders and it made Ray and Marvin smarter than anyone in the league at that time.

Belichick puts it best. In his coaching career, when it comes to punts, he has always warned his players against three particular defensive backs: Deion Sanders, Ed Reed, and Rod Woodson. Don't punt the ball to Sanders, don't let Reed block the punt, and don't let Woodson return the ball for a touchdown. It takes a special kind of player for Belichick to single you out and build plays specifically to stop you, and Woodson is definitely special.

My cuzzin! Rod is the greatest CB ever! He was fast, athletic, strong, smart, could cover, hit you hard and he was slippery when returning punts and kickoffs. One thing that was never mentioned was that he was a great teammate and he made sacrifices for his team by playing out of position.
