Fellow Cayman owner here with a little observation. It appears your interior door handle return spring on the driver's side door has failed. The door handle should sit more flush to the door than it is in the video. It's pretty easy to repair yourself if it bothers you, if you haven't already by this point. In my case, mine also made a squeaking that drove me nuts, so I removed the little rubber bumper on the back of the handle and covered the back with think felt instead. Works quite well. Congrats on the purchase. Hope you love it as much as I love mine.
The painted air intakes are an upgrade. The original owner paid around $1,200 for the front and side intakes to be color matched with the body. Painting them back to black would make no sense. They look far better matching the body. Why didn’t you just have them deliver it at your house?! Nice car congrats.
Older post but good info. I just got my 2008 new to me as well! Was looking at 911 but decided on Cayman to break in the club. Went from VW Jetta to the Cayman. I'm still exploring the car. So far I really like it
Congrats! You’ll love it. Shhh, I’ll let you in on a little secret, I’m expecting another 987 Cayman to be delivered in the next week. I’ll be shooting a video as to why I bought another one. Stay tuned.
im debating buying one as a long term investment, they are so cheap here in the uk. 2007 with triptonic only £14k. do you think it is a car you could drive for 10+ years and still be happy with it
Those are Avante Garde Ruger Mesh wheels, or something similar (a few manufacturer make those styles) . I got them on my 06 Cayman S. Really nice for aftermarket wheels. Also, for my car, the previous owner wrapped most of the trim pieces in 3M CF wrap. Very good quality wrap. I'd look into that as an option too if that's something you're interested in doing. Have fun with the car!
'Key on the left like in all Porsches' well I hear this a lot on CZcams. Actually it's the case on all left hand Drive Porsches. On right hand drives Porsches the key is on the right hand side (like nearly every RHD car).
@@jwheeler7890 there was a 986 Boxter. So second gen overall, but Cayman started with 987. When people refer to second gen Cayman they are talking about 987.2 which started in 2009; this is a 987.1.
Congrats on the Cayman! You will love it!!!
That looks brand new for a 2008👌👌
skip the first 5 minutes.....

Any updates on this car so far (ownership expenses etc...) I’m thinking of buying one this year
Great looking Porsche ! !
could have just drive to your house, 4miles...im sure any cop would understand
Cool ride..nice color. Very sharp
what a beauty! you can never go wrong with a 987
Those are some nice rims... Nice Choice!
That's a gorgeous cayman! The white with the wheels is spot on.
Thinking about buying one of these as a daily so I don’t put too many miles on my Benz. Are these reliable?
What a beautym Chris!

This the type of car plain and simple. Enjoy the car.
do not do anything with the wheels. Do not paint those intake ducts. do not put any stickers on the outside of the car.
One 7 Decimal 2 Eight do not replace head unit
Do not tell something what to do with what they bought
@@thatvolvoguy6565 its just advice bro
Just wondering how much you paid for your 2008 base Cayman? Looking to buy a Cayman S with 40k miles.
Great Video!
What type of rims what size?
Great car
those wheels are tough
Worth buying an 06 Cayman S that’s been borescoped and has 6 months warranty at 136k miles for

It "came in" today...get it?
awesome
I'm late to the party, but am taking the same path. GTI daily, hopefully soon a 987.2 weekender!
Wheels are awesome...what type? Very good looking
I see answer lower down....really good looking with white color of your cayman s..
Beautiful
Isso é um carro maravilhoso.
É um brinquedo pra adultos.
Sensacional.
Don’t know if you still have it. Did you have any regrets not getting the S? I’m shopping presently. Thanks
I no longer have it. No regrets at all. Was much cheaper than an S but still plenty of power for the road.
How do people treat you when seen in the exotic car vs. other cars you have had?
Chris On Cars people believe it is though they think it's worth alottttt
She is an absolute Beauty. Awesome. I’d be interested in how you feel about her now owning it for a few years etc?

Shoulda done a NASCAR style burnout in the parking lot, to welcome it home. C'mon man!

Why not tell us what you paid for the car, and transport .
"What an american plate, huh?!" 🗨😉🌱🔖💠➿〽️
FYI, your wheels are not factory Porsche wheels. They are aftermarket wheels of some kind.
Looks like VMR Wheels... maybe 509/510 models.
They are Avant-garde 19"
That is correct
@@infinite.static when I first seen this video I had to have them rims on my 2008 Cayman. Mines comes on a boat to Hawaii in 3 weeks.
What kind a wheels are they?
Avant Garde wheels. I believe they call them M359
Lose the orange and change the signal marker lights to LED.
Did you get that "Boost" option installed before you sold/traded it in?
I’m trying to get this 4 my first car
German Driver how is general reliability? Like I’m somewhat savvy on fixing cars, is it easy to fix oneself?
You can absolutely drive it home without plates. If you get pulled over they will let you go.

Oh....can you put 2 golf bags in there?
yes! ... ive done it... its a tight fit but, yes
Congrats on the Cayman! I love my Cayman S its so much fun, if you ever can check out my channel I try to show it as often as possible!

NE ÜMAN ?
It's not... your last name is NE UMAN, which is why I asked ;)
I think the Cayman needs lowering springs. For such a high end vehicle the wheel gaps are just down right ugly
Needs lowering!
No it will look cheaper
horrible north american bumpers, put the European style.
Fact check: 2008 is 2nd gen
Nope.

What wheels do you have on your Porsche?
@chrislevelfans Fuchs, why ?
