  • Sometimes it takes time to recognize our emotions, acknowledge them, accept them, describe them. What do we do when we have a delayed emotional response? Are there times when we "should" grieve?
Dr. BJ Miller leads a discussion on coping with the stress of serious illness, for patients, caregivers and clinicians. Life’s hard, especially when dealing with illness or loss, but there are tried and true ways to make things a little less hard and a little more meaningful; prayer, meditation, exercise, creative outlets of all sorts, to name a few. We revisit familiar coping mechanisms and discover new ones, while hearing from participants on real life examples of coping that have helped them. BJ also addresses attendees questions on the topic.

I went into premature labor 3/15/20 and I lost my baby. I have literally been numbing myself with drugs this past year..and with the news of my brother and his wife's pregnancy, I have all these feelings and emotions and the drugs no longer numb anything...I have honestly never dealt with grief or any trauma that I've been thru...and I don't know how to heal. I don't understand what it means to feel your feelings or to then it ride... Or to express them..
    I'm drowning and I can't breathe

    Hello..
I've been in abusive relationships for 30 years and the last two almost killed me. I didnt have any reaction right after the abuse which made the abuser even angrier. The reaction always came around a week afterwards where I would completely break down in tears for hours at a time.
Ive since broken the contact with the abusers but..Im a mess..a complete mess. What do I do?
