Can't tell if you are saying that in a good or bad way, because on the one hand, Ash, Gabby and Milner is mouthwatering, yet on the other there was Guzan, Warnock and Heskey, all of whom I cringe at just thinking about how mediocre they were, whilst Downing was the most overhyped player I've ever known at Villa, I thought he was cack. Dunne, Collins, Cueller and Petrov were all ok for a while, but never stood out as ever being likely to compete with the top players in the league. All in all, for the money spent on this lineup, I can't help feeling it was underwhelming
@@rustyshackleford4918 I know this comment is 2 years old but in fairness this was a partially rotated side for a cup tie. We had Friedel in goal instead of Guzan that year and Carew was our main striker, not Heskey. It was so close to being a top side though so agree we had a few too many average players in there like Warnock and Collins. We were on the verge of signing Falcao instead of Heskey apparently… could’ve been what we needed to push on
