why are you covering the expansion joints and deck drains? Wont that cause issues in the future?
Question about the sealer:
If you’re planning on painting it when finished, does the sealer still go on first?
Does it keep the glossy sheen when cured? Will that affect the way the paint cures to the cement?

So there’s no need to trowel the material that levels itself?
The first coat we do trowel and spread evenly with a flat squeegee. The second coat is sprayed on using a texture machine. This layer doesn't self-level and we don't spread it out. How long will this last? And is there maintenance to it?

No, you shouldn't have to do anything except seal it!
I thought epoxy on water or moist surfaces is a no-do ... please explain the logic behind pre-hydration
This is not epoxy, It's a cement polymer-based product.
