    Nice to see Airoh reviews on your channel. I hope you can someday review GP 550S. I was always curious how good Airoh on-road helmets are compared to other brands.

      Thanks for the feedback! We do have the GP 550S on our list for road testing, and though it has become quite long lately, we do hope to get to it.
      What are your thoughts on the Aviator 3?

  • @zoranbilbiloski652
    @zoranbilbiloski652 Před 3 lety +5

    In my opinion Aviator 3.0 it's a disaster!Comparing to the 2.3 it's much more bulkier in appearance and heavier,the peak is more like for street use,the front nose protection is very low and not stream like(it will not deflect rocks or branches like the 2.3)and why adding metal mesh on the vents(the sponge worked just fine and it's weightless),not even mentioning the price of 900 euro...Therefore I will stick to my 2.2 and 2.3 design!As I said this is just my opinion...thanx for the review though!

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  Před 3 lety

      That's fair enough, and the weight is definitely where Airoh could have given a stronger showing, especially since the 2.3 was so light. Though as far as price, it will be lower for fiberglass composite version of the helmet.
      Thanks for the comment!
      Besides the weight and peak, did any other feature of the Aviator 3 stand out?

    • @zoranbilbiloski652
      @zoranbilbiloski652 Před 3 lety

      @CC I did mention that

      I 100% agree with you.
      Airoh have messed up the Aviator 3 massively and should have stuck to the light weight compact design of the 2.3.
      The 2.3 was perfect why mess it up so bad.
      The airoh 3 looks massive and has a huge high peak like a dorky 6d,bell or fox helmet.
      Airoh aviator are known and popular for the stream line light weight small aerodynamic shell shape.
      I have been using the Airoh Aviator 2.1 and due for a new helmet...
      I will be looking to get an Airoh 2.3 for sure.
      Who ever did the redesign of the Aviator 3 has rocks for brains.

      So true,i even cancel to buy 3.0 even the model is so awsome! But the weight just so idiot…seriously airoh need to make another again!

    So what is the actual weight for the Carbon version, just curious what the diffrence is between the two versions. Thanks

    Why is the Aviator 3 much heavier than the Aviator Ace?

  • @soda5730
    @soda5730 Před 2 lety

    Are both those helmets (3 and 2.3) the same size? The new one looks massive. This appears to be a trend. The orange on a toothpick look.

  • @jannelindroth

    How does the memoryfoam work ?
    Thought it felt a bit tight in same size as previous models from Aviator.

  • @I.Dereta
    @I.Dereta Před 3 lety +1

    my concern is the fit, is the XL airoh 2.3 feel similiar to the XL in the aviator 3?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  Před 3 lety

      Based on what we've seen with the Aviator 3 so far, the fit should be the same intermediate oval as the 2.3. However, since this can also be a very personal aspect of trying a helmet on, the best option is to always measure against the helmet's size chart and (if possible) try the helmet on in a local store.
      Thanks for the question!
      What are your thoughts on the new Airoh helmet?

      @@Championhelmets I love the design, I hear the gripes about the weight, but the 2.3 helmet eject system was not that good, the new magnetic cheek pads and design are a huge win for me, I'm about it.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  Před 3 lety

      The magnetic cheek pads will definitely help with a quick exit, and the new AMSS system should also further help the helmet's safety.

    Just My opinion...
    Adding 400 grams to the Airoh aviator 3 is a huge down grade! What are they thinking!
    Airoh aviators 2.1, 2.2 , 2.3 are THE BEST BECAUSE they are known to be the lightest motocross helmet.
    Motocross racers want light weight aerodynamic helmets which the airoh aviator 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 are.
    The Airoh aviator 3 is a disappointment..
    Sales will suffer.
    I just hope I can pick up a few aviator 2.3 before they sell out lol

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  Před 3 lety

      In the end, we were also surprised at the large increase in weight, especially considering its importance for cross riders. It seems that it is likely coming from the helmet's new features and grilles and the splitting of the two helmets into the HPC composite and the carbon fiber version.
      Thanks for the comment!
      Besides weight, what are your thoughts on the new Aviatior?

    • @marcusbarnes5929
      @marcusbarnes5929 Před 3 lety +3

      @@Championhelmets well I just went out and purchased a new airoh aviator 2.3 after finding out the aviator 3 is 400 grams heavier.
      The Aviator 2.3 is a good upgrade over the aviator 2.1.
      The 2.3 has a larger eye port, larger air vent holes in eps for ventilation and increased safety.
      I tried all the latest top end carbon fibre helmets on and the Airoh Aviator 2.3 was by far the best with the shoei a close second.
      The other top brands were all to heavy and rediculously massive compared to Airoh aviator 2.3.
      The aviator 3 shell looks to have also increased in size making it less airodynamic.
      The airoh aviator ace would be the better option when the 2.3 sells out.
      Will the aviator 2.3 magnetic liners still be available to purchase?

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  Před 3 lety +1

      @@marcusbarnes5929 Thanks for the reply! The Aviator 2.3 was definitely one of the best around, from multiple points of view. As far as magnetic liners, the safest option would be to try and get a hold of them early on, since the 2.3 and 3.0 interiors are not interchangeable.

    400 grams more is tooooo much!

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  Před 3 lety

      It does seem like the change of shell materials has led to a heavier material, especially onsidering how light the Aviator 2.3 was. Nonetheless, we do expect the carbon version to come in a bit lighter.
      Thanks for the comment!

      @@Championhelmets the Airoh aviator 3 is a huge fat down grade with a dorky high peak and wack low chin bar.
      Looks like an adventure rider helmet lol
      Tell Airoh to go back to the 2.3 design as it's was perfect.
