    I purchased this same model at from one of the ‘gun’ websites for $344, on 03/13/2020 (waiting for it to arrive at my FFL). Living in an apartment I wanted the Judge for the variety of rounds that won’t over-penetrate - risking my neighbor - but still being able to quickly drop a hostile.

    Excellent review thanks, I have the stainless judge with a 3 inch cylinder and a 3 inch barrel.
    Yes it’s a bit heavy, yes it’s bulky, however like you said it’s a good home, truck, trail gun..
    For what it’s worth the grips on the larger judges are much better they are a full sized ribbed rubber grip which really tames recoil and fills the hand

    Got mine poly judge for $299, mismark at Academy! Couldn't resist the deal. It is crazy how much the recoil changes when you shoot bird shot 410 and .45 colt. Also, a big difference in noise. I purchased the Hornady Triple Defense 410 shots as well, definitely will do some damage if you are put in a situation you need to show who's the judge, but god forbid you have to. Overall, a badass gun to have in your collection!

      The Hornady does not do well in real world testing. The only real buck option is the Federal handgun but that's rarely available. I mean you can use other buck loads but the spread is awful. Look at the 45 Colt 220 grain Underwood load made for these types of longer cylinder guns, it's a monster

And if you want extreme, the 45 colt Underwood Extreme Defender it is a solid copper cork screw round. I call it the Magic Flute! I have about 150 rounds thru this revolver combining both .45 Colt and various .410 rounds. So far I have no issues. I do not shoot this often and it is for a specific use (trail carry / camping) It is intended for use as a "snake gun" and not as much for home protection as I have other choices there. I did not have good accuracy with the Hordany Critical Defense 410's. The slug and balls are all lead and seem to deform, causing the shot to go all over the place unless you are very close to your target. 45 LC and the copper coated 410 shot do very well at 25 yards and closer. The cowboy loads will foul up your gun badly. I have the regular size judge. It's as accurate as any other average carry gun at 25 yards. .

    • @Bettis5920
      @Bettis5920  Před 7 lety +3

      I try to avoid these type questions because there is much that I don't know about the shooter. I will offer some basic advice. If she is new to shooting, she may not like shooting a snub nose .38 due to the felt recoil. If she is a more experienced shooter then she may not mind it as much. I recommend taking her to a shooting range where you can rent guns and have her shoot a few different ones to see what she thinks. Good luck and thank you for watching.

      +Antonious Malone The cost varies depending on which Judge you are looking at. They start around $400 and go up from there to around $700

      If you have it loaded with the .45 Long Colt rounds. It is a good choice with that round.

    I just bought a S&W Governor. I did love the Judge too but they were sold out

    • @Bettis5920
      @Bettis5920  Před 8 lety

      The Governor is probably the better gun but it also costs a lot more. I was looking for a used Governor for a long time before I decided to get the Judge. Both are good choices for what they do. I am sure you will enjoy the Governor.

      @freedive6891 Před 8 lety

      Phantom Outlaw I appreciate the feedback. I have a twin brother who has been a SEAL now for about 15 years. Forward deployed he carried the Governor in his bag as a last option. Not sure if it was more of "Joke" than an actual option? You put on a good review and it was worth the watch. Stay well.

    • @mikehunt4487
      @mikehunt4487 Před 7 lety +1

      How well do you think this would carry apendex with the stock grip? I wear an overshirt all the time so printing isn't a huge issue for me, I'm just a little concerned about weight. I don't mind something a little heavy. This is also my first carry gun, and I know that you're probably going to recommend a 9mm, but I'm already familiar with handgun shooting and don't mind recoil. I also already own a 410 for hunting so I'm already buying the ammo. I'd also like to hear your recommendatios on what ammo to carry, I'm thinking about having 000 buck in the gun & a speed loader of 45lc hollow points as reload.

    Idk why yall be telling ppl on these videos that, the gun will shoot uh 3inch shell, matter fact datz wht I shoot outta mine 3inch OOO Super X Predator Winchester. 410 rounds, and also Slugs... Winchester make the best rounds for the Gun Period

  • @cliffbarnett9869
    @cliffbarnett9869 Před 8 lety +2

    One this gun isnt as big as your saying these guns are carried by alot of people here. Two iwb this holster and its just fine. Three if you need more then a few shots you need to go back to the range. Four when you get this gun your suppose to clean it because the chemicals they put on it is so it dont rust. Five before you ever carry a gun ur freind should of shot the gun to loosen up the cylinder it a new gun it needs to be broken in.

    • @Bettis5920
      @Bettis5920  Před 8 lety +4

      +Cliff Barnett Opinions vary. It is my opinion that the Judge is considered a larger gun. To others it may not be. I also prefer having additional rounds available. Not all shooters are marksmen and some of us do miss once in awhile. Thank you for watching.
