    A very hypnotic delivery and a nice performance. Had me hooked through the whole thing!

    One of my absolute all-time favourite ESP routines! I discovered it first with Eugene Burger's performance. Thank you, Ben, for this!

      I’m so happy that you like it, and that you’ll continue to perform it for years to come. Thank you for the compliment! Keep it secret, keep it safe… 🤓

      @@benblaumentalism6245 Dear Ben, thank you for your reply. I have also presented it for younger audiences with Similo Fables cards, using the intimate connection between the hero and its nemesis, and so forming pairs which are linked by that antagonistic rapport between them. In the end, instead of matching ESP cards, one hero and its nemesis match and then, of course, the other 4 pairs match also. Though the technical aspect of the routine is respected absolutely (I wouldn't dare pretending that I would be capable of modifying it) the context allows for a great experience for the audience.

      Fantastic! I love that you’ve made it your own!

    I still love the fact that my investments in this warranted me 3 different sets of 10 cards for three different presentations and demonstrations of all three! Besides fantastic mentalism and magic, the most important thing I took away from my study of this what how much weight a inspired premise and presentation has overall. Mechanics wise, nothing changes, yet the overall perceptions of what the audience experiences drastically changes. It's a great thing to be reminded of and I'm glad your Unfazed effect accomplished that!

    Came here after reading about this in the Eugene Burger book. Wonderful presentation and wonderful design of an effect. I learned this for the first time today and have been thinking already of so many different uses for this. I love how this contrasts with Eugene's presentation, there are many details here he leaves out I really like!! Can't wait to investigate more of your work.

      Thanks so much! I love Eugene’s presentation too, and also that of Steve Yachanin. All three are taught in the video project, and share the same core methodology. Have fun with it, and thanks again! 🙂

    I'd swear that watch is a Shinola. I'm a watch nerd, *and I am fairly confident that is what that is. Awesome performance, I've watched it several times trying to figure out the trick to it. I know nothing of card tricks but that is very cool. You had a good subject too.

    The best ESP routine I have seen so far ... It partially fooled me as well.

    Folks, if you’re seeing this effect sold or marketed anywhere other than my website (www.benblaumentalism.com), it is NOT legitimate. They’ll probably just steal your money as they try to rip me off as well. If you care about magic at all, you won’t support these online criminals.

    This is amazing. Now, i am curious. Can this be done with any set of cards? Or does it have to be this specific deck?

    • @benblaumentalism6245
      @benblaumentalism6245  Před 2 lety +6

      Any kinds of cards you like. You can even use things like photographs or business cards. If you use business cards, it’s fun to let the audience pick the shapes or pictures you draw.

    Hello Ben. I love this. I want to know what do you think about what I do. I talk about ramdom things and I make them roll a dice, other the rolls are just to show it can be any number (I casually stop when the number 3 comes up). Thats how I justify the 3 cards to be removed and the number 3 later. What do you think? You like?

      Hello Ariel. I’m glad you’re enjoying Unfazed. When I perform it, I do not frame it as a coincidence effect. If you examine my script above, you’ll see that in each phase it’s the participant who gets the credit for apparently reading my mind.

      This is an absurd criticism. On the contrary, this very routine deserves its slow-ish pace. Also, thanks to the fact that each step is using a different modus operandi, it is not repetitive. I have performed this routine countless times in front of very different audiences... believe me, I have never lost my spectators. Watch Ben doing it, observe his rhythm, his pauses... All is is calculated to let the situations and the cause/consequence process form in the mind of the spectator. The artist establishes the speed of his/her performance. If he/she owns it, the audience will never get bored.
