    As a complete PvE allergic guy, I have one thing to say: beautiful and fascinating piece of work. Love when tables are turned upside down!
    I was wondering what Ashterothi lore-knowledge could add to your Minmatar Republic video though to be honest as a "forever Minmie" guy I appreciated your video on the matter- while I'm pretty sure i trolled you at that time to be honest- and all its gruesome and ambivalent implications, and not only because I unfortunately have literally meters of scars all around the body- Join the navy they Navy they said 21 years ago!-
    Always felt like Arturo and Villore were on a Mike Pondsmith's Cyberpunk, Deus-Ex, Jin-Roh and Philip K. Dick blurred line tough I have a hard time getting the subtitle differences. Megacorporations, Meritocracy, governments without genuine counterparts who tell you what you ought to be and behave. Like two twin brothers who cannot bear each others. Eve very much went in the direction of no good guys, Gallente value freedom and choice, but the actual state often works contrary to that.
      Caldari corporate culture value benefiting the state overall, but that overall limits individual freedoms (autocracy and all).
      Minmitar value freedom and are sympathetic due to their history with slavery, but are heavily guided by cultural and religious practices that ostricise and brutalize swaths of their own population.
      Meanwhile the Amar are a slaving despotic religious empire with temple disco ships.
      The sisters of Eve are probs the most good faction and even then they wield their influence to achieve goals outside of their mission statement.

    It's been a few years, at least since I played EVE. Recently been digging into it again though I haven't yet renewed by sub. The changes in the lore of EVE, like this presentation have pretty much clubbed me between the eyes. When I played before I was into Industry. I love making stuff and selling stuff and I was an Independent. I saw the Corporate structure as to pushy, restrictive and authoritarian. I got ambushed one to many times harvesting in High Sec and finally had enough. Nevertheless, I have never lost the wonder of the game so will probably try it again. Thus my research into the game as it is now. Its going to be a entirely different game. Thanks for the effort you put in on this episode. Utterly fascinating.

I used Naga as an inspiration for a school project and I won first place. Caldari ship designs are next level even if they are just office blocks. Before all the federation guys attack me, please understand I'm a die hard federation fanatic and so please do understand that we have done wrong as well so we should become compassionate towards Caldari.

    @mar16cris Před 4 lety +3

    nice video but i feel there was a lot of stuff left out even for a 44-45 min presentation. here's some interesting snippets from what i recall of the Gallente lore (some may be outdated or weren't true on the first place but still):
    -the Intaki are the most spiritual division inside the faction( they even believe in reincarnation without using cloning tech) but sadly are also the most pacifist and the least protected by the government (thus see the rise of the Syndicate) with many of their territories being classified as Lowsec
    -the Mannar are a minor group that isnt mentioned as much as they're not playable compared to the other three but they are very leaning to the nationalist wing of the senate and if the old lore about them hasnt changed, they may have had some hispanic blood at some point during the colonization era much as how the Gallente were descendants from french colonists
    -Jin Mei are basically "chinese" and like Intaki they are more leaning towards peacefull resoluton to conflicts albeit with a more oportunistic and communal approach (prosperity and freedom to operate to improve your life with hard work and smart decisions), surprisingly enough the current Jin Mei were actually one of many people living in their homeplanet but they removed other ethnic groups either by assimilation or by birth control so only their kind remained and even then they divided the population in a caste system which has proven problematic at times on their membership inside the federation. to make it more interesting they were discovered recently, being already space borne when the Gallenteans arrived to welcome them (the Jin Mei had even prepared an armada with their most advanced warships at the time of contact just in case but they are basically on par with the federation scouting party)
    -one of the Amarrian Royal Heirs was in love with a gallentean, according to one of the latest chronicles Uriam Kador invaded Solitude (see the Quantum Rise trailer) because he wanted to be with some woman he met there and thus looked to claim the region for himself. sadly the woman died and when Catiz Tash-Murkon rose as empress he tried to bring the ashes of his lover to the sacrificial site in order to die together under the light of the lord
    -as i see it the Amarr aren't hostile to the Gallente due to personal vendettas but due to their idea as it may remind them of the ancient Udorians which lived in their homeplanet during the pre-space era of the empire. the Udorians were very open and libertarian while also focusing heavily on trade rather than warfare, sounds plenty Gallentean to me
    -the corrupt practices and opression inside the government are one of the reasons the Serpentis and the Syndicate arose to power. the original Serpentis Corporation started as a pharmaceutical company but got punished by the government due to the discovery of boosters, meanwhile the Syndicate arose as a response to the federal government not doing its job to ensure the security of the Intaki in the fringes of the federation and actually punishing them from trying to take matters by themselves (no one in Syndicate can settle on their planets, they have to live on the stations solely)
    -the Gallente are blamed for the creation of the Rogue Drones, cant remember if it was a mistake done by CreoDron or another company but their obsession with automation led to the creation of self aware machinery which has been a stone in the shoe for the whole cluster ever since
    -the federation got its gate technology by reverse engineering the remains of the Yan Jung stargates that were still intact in their systems, some people even argue that the Jin-Mei are related to them but their home system (Lirsautton) is actually very far from the place that is generally believed to be the place of origin of the Yan Jung
    -CreoDron is one of its greatest corporations and was actually birthed by a single guy (see the Old Man's Star chronicle) which survived a voyage to settle a stargate network by himself after the crew suffered and accident, having created lots of drones to help him with the job of SETTING THE FUCKNG STARGATE TO WORK in order to get back home

      @Jintaan  Před 4 lety

      I've always said there needs to be a ship-based cyno inhib, which would have been a better solution than the cyno rework at least IMO - I'm all for giving people more offensive tools, as I think that's far more fun than taking away defensive ones outright.
      Faction Destroyers would also be great, especially if they were only available in Lowsec to give that area of space it's own unique resource to export :)

    • @Jintaan
      @Jintaan  Před 4 lety

      I actually think you'd want to put anti-cyno platforms on a smaller class of ships to encourage people to bring Cruisers/Destroyers in their compositions as well as captials/Battleships. I've always maintained that there needs to be more reasons to diversify ship/hull types in compositions.
      I've got my own ideas for Navy Dessies, but having shared them with CCP I don't think there's much appetite to actually ever do it.

    • @jcon5698
      @jcon5698 Před 4 lety

      @@Jintaan I get where you're coming from but Hictors Logis and Force Recons are already pretty important for fleet comps, as well as the ubiquity of HACs and, well T3Cs are T3Cs. Honestly I would prefer the CIP to be tankier and have greater mass in order to discourage it from being headshot in fleet to fleet pvp and also to make it harder to roam in.

    • @Jintaan
      @Jintaan  Před 4 lety

      You _WANT_ a cyno nullification ship to be good to roam with though, no?
      Ultimately the main thing that needs to be fixed is the super/capital problem, as I addressed in my video on the matter, as without that being changed we can't see the subcap meta shift to self-correct away from "Things that can dodge Bosons" always being better than "Things that can't dodge Bosons" which makes BS' inherently irrelevant.

  • @serronserron1320
    @serronserron1320 Před 3 lety +2

    Slightly wrong. It was the Caldari State corporations that started the war by firing on the Gallente Navy and conducting pirate raids stealing vital resources necessary for the Federation. Not as popular as news, and it can be hard to get a hold of people as superduper smart as Ashterothi to talk about the lore - I'm trying to see if we can do all 4 empires, then go from there into other subjects, like the Jove and history of Capsuleers/How they work!

    Wish that you had done more of this type of thing, without Ashterothi.

    what are the major corporations in the Federation and what does the government and the general population think of all them?

      The Federation runs a lot of Public-Private partnerships, so corporations are hired by the Federation through a lowest bidder process, similar to how the American government functions in that sense. There are a few major ones, such as CreoDron
      (Drone people, sorta accidentally created the Rogue Drones but we don't talk about that), Duvolle Laboratories
      (SCIENCE, DRUGS AND CATGIRLS) & Roden Shipyards
      (Definitely not a proxy for the President's personal military interests). But they're also home to groups like The Scope (IC News) and Impetus (Best porn in the cluster).
      It's a wide spectrum but generally their corporations are well regarded in the Federation, as they're handled semi-strictly by the government and are ok-ish places to work, unlike certain Caldari megacorporations.

    I love how wonderfully uneducated those videos are about the real world political philosophy 😂 , besides that, they are really entertaining though

    Gallenete lore is extremely rich and nuanced, and i don't think your video...and particularly your guest...did it any justice. You guys literally just glossed over the first 900 years of Gallentean history...
    Not up to par with your usual quality at all. I've been playing less than six months and I could have told the lore better.

    Why are you putting oppression by the Gallente in quotation as if its not real oppression? They litterally show up to other civilizations worlds and force themselves and their agenda onto them by force regardless if they want it or not. The Caldari simply said no thanks, we value diligence, honor, strictness and order in our society as oppose to freedom with chaos and the Gallente refused to accept this. And those values weren't something that got forced onto the Caldari people by the corporations, it was their core identity from the start. The corporations simply evolved to be the best frames to uphold up those values.
