Magnificent, Geno. No script. All from your heart. This is now 2024 and you haven't changed a bit. (Maybe a step slower.) You covered all the bases beautifully and you had the audience in the palm of your hands throughout. The team this pass season, although not winning a National Championship, reached the Final Four and you will look back at it someday and regard it as one of your finest achievements as a coach and you are so proud of your players for their commitment to excel against all odds. People are starting to believe you may want to 'wrap it up' after Paige leaves. I don't know about that. As long as the fire is still burning inside you to mold a team together, instill a family atmosphere and shoot for the brass ring, I think we can expect you to be around a while longer, don't you think?
Again, it was a pleasure listening to so many wonderful thoughts. Being Italian, maybe I got more emotion out of it. So be it.
Geno is not only the greatest coach of all time (mens or womens) but the guy is pure class as well. I could listen to him speak for days on end. This particular speech was long overdue. Congrats to him and his family.
