    Outstanding video that clearly illustrates the location of the valve, its operation, and how to remove and replace it. Providing the tools required and the Mopar part number very helpful.
    I was able to clean mine to resolve my poor idle/intermittent stalling. No DTC’s were set during this event.
    More people need to make clear, concise, and educational videos like this!
    Great Job Sir!!

    These videos are a life saver. My IAC valve was definitely out, but the final problem causing low idle for me was a busted hose that attaches to the front of the throttle body.

      If the sensor give trouble u can uninstalled it and vehicle should start up just will have a high intake sound at 2000 rpm...u can also remove one of the intake hose on the passenger of the intake and should help to bypass the iac when it's lock. To start the vehicle and should runs find.

    I have a 95 cherokee limited 5.2 all wheel drive. Yesterday before work, i tried replacing the IAC. For some reason i can see the screws, even after taking pics(couldn't get a good angle). Anyway, the screws started to back out then stopped(i also re-watched this vid just now, realizing i needed a T25 bit and i was using a T20). Lol. Well gonna give it a go again Monday when i dont work. I may have to remove the throttle body so i can work on it in doors(30s and wet/windy), and actually see what im doing. Anyway, thnx again(watched your vid on the transfer fluid change and i believe one for the TPS.

    Great video, & great explanation of how this part works. I replaced it on my 1998 Durango 5.2L. It corrected the the idle problem & stalling out when coming to a stop or at a red light. However, I bought the right angle screwdriver from Harbor Freight for $3.00 & $3.00 for the bit holder to give me more extension. During the 5 sec initialization sequence, do you keep the peddle slightly pushed through out the 5 seconds or just when you start it? Love your videos BTW!

    • @barricadegarage5361
      @barricadegarage5361  Před 5 lety +3

      Just when you start it then when the motor catches let off. This is because the pintle was extended which wouldnt allow enough air flow to the engine to start it unless you held the throttle blades slightly open by holding your foot very lightly on the accelerator pedal. The worse that could happen if you dont do this process is the engine may stall right after you start it but the computer catches on quick and will make the proper adjustments to the IAC by the time you start it up again

    @BarricadeGarage What would cause a 98 Jeep to stall out when the following occurs:
    Key in ignition. Jeep starts up fine. Put Jeep into drive and remove foot from brake. Jeep stalls out and turns off when foot is removed from brake.
    I've also had the issue of it stalling right after ignition. What are your thoughts?
    I've already installed a new fuel pump, spark plugs with wires, ignition starter, top end gaskets, ac evac and recharge, suspension, belt, and power steering pump. All grounds and wires are good to go as well. Compression is also good.

    My 97 jeep grand Cherokee has a starting issue only when it's below zero degrees. Everytime it's below zero my jeep doesn't start when I turn the ignition - no crank or anything. I have to bypass this by either 1. crawling underneath and putting my screw driver across the starter solenoid then it cranks and starts (while key is in on position) or 2. (also while key is in on position) pop the hood and go to the starter relay, we removed the black relay cap and manually squeezing the relay which then cranks and starts the jeep. In above zero degree weather starts normal. Any ideas?
