Squad is definitely the best game that’s simple to pick up but hard to master. Realistic enough where you feel like it’s true combat in most situations, but not too much where you are overwhelmed by features in the game.

There was a time when R6 would have been on the very top of my list for best FPS game. It's gotten so micromanaged by the devs insisting to constant nerfing and buffing, the influence of the "pro" players, and changes to the single player options. Adding more and more operators into a game that already has too many of them, and changing or not adding new maps. After 4,000 hours of playing time (I started at Blood Orchid), it's found it's way into the uninstalled level of hell where most of the games enter and never leave. I have lots of great memories playing R6 with friends, it's sad that those memories are all of what's left of a great game.

Oh lord.
I gotta give you credit for tryin; these games are all well-made and represent their genres with flying colors; even arguably topping them for their respective audiences… but the only “tactical” experiences offered in any of them are so dependent upon their own learning curves and someone’s particular playstyle that they nearly omit themselves from consideration. At the end of the day, they’re gonna be about as inherently “tactical” as a Bond villain.
RoN may be the only exception but even that sticks to a pretty strict formula; though it does have a close contender in Ground Branch (it counts cause the Ai was just improved, I guess; but you can still pretty much just post up at a doorway and cheese almost an entire map). And since Zero Hour is basically a blend of the two perpetually stuck in what seems to be early-beta, it’s kinda outclassed by just about everything else on this list.
Sandstorm… well… it’s got great ballistics, but play it for more than a few dozen hours over a couple of double-xp weekends and you’ll quickly realize that it’s really only “tactical” on Hardcore COOP for the first hour or so. Versus in any of the game modes featured in a Snipes video is just gonna wind up feeling like COD-Lite if Bohemia and Codemasters had developed it.
But, fundamentally, Arma3, Tarkov, R6, and even Squad

R6 is hero shooter above anything else, but can be considered tactical.
Tarkov is not tactical game. It is RPG suvival mixed with some shooting mechanics. And its RPG mechanics are very poorly designed.
