Love this " make it up as you go build" this is what we need for all those guys who don't have pots of money, or permision required from wife! More homemade designs please, from anyone! Well done Andrew I applaud you sir!
🤙
I am building one similarly, except designed for the wings I've saved from the crashed planes that I liked. Awesome looking and flying craft. Better flying and looking right of the workbench than many arriving from overseas!
love your scratch building always
🤙
very nice light plane , i like it more than mine , i have something kinda the same size, i have some videos on the tube
That’s the spirit! You’ve inspired me to get back to my experiments lol 😂
🤙
I've found my best flying airplanes have been off the top of my head/no plans. Cut sand and glue until I get the rough shape of something that might fly and refine it from there. I truly love this hobby 👍
Yes, great hobby for tinkerers
Looks like the same thing that was used in the early 1990’s called the Dura-Bat .
Made from square drain pipe, correx and foam .
Indestructible to a degree, great fun
Interesting!
I love seeing these styles. Thank you for sharing.
👍🏻
A fascinating mostly foam construction tractor build. This design is similar to one that @AeroStuffFPV make from @ExperimentalAirlines foam board techniques recently. He calls it his the Silver Guardian UAV. It's not surprising you two have created a similar designs, having both followed Ed.
I like how both turned out to be great flyers! :)
Details of his build: czcams.com/video/q6YIdY0WnOY/video.html
Yay! scratch building. I have been taking a break myself for the past 4-5 months. Learning some Bass in my free time.
cool little plane.
Bass! Very cool Nate
Homemade are the best !. My regular flyers are my scratchies - just balsa from Bunnings.
4-5 amps cruise is awesome on that one, leave it as is !.
Yeah, maybe I will and just adjust to using higher throttle
Adoro esse tipo de construção!
Por mais vídeos assim!
Parabéns Andrew!
👏👏👏
Im flying a home made Versa Wing made from 6mm Depron sheet Andrew. It has a small fuz added so its easy to launch. Speedy Bee F405 mini onboard, gps etc...Flies great covered in packing tape, dirt cheap and a lot of fun...Flies 20 mins on just a 3S lipo...🤔😏😮😀🇬🇧
Nice. Good cheap fun
Really enjoying all the variety of content!
Glad to hear it!
gorgeous
🤙
nice build, good to see you back to scratch-building
Thanks!
Cheers Andrew, a simple and nice flyer indeed. 👍💪✌
Thanks 👍
Gawd, this takes me back to my Flite Test and Experimental Airlines builds, what, 10 years back or so. Hind sight being what it is, I am somewhat alarmed I talked myself into stuffing _hundreds of dollars_ worth of Ardupilot flight controller and FPV gear into something built with Dollar Tree foamboard and hot glue! It never occurred to me that the plans I carefully printed out and taped together, as templates to ever-so-carefully cut said foamboard, could be as flawed as my reasoning! Haha, thankfully Bixler and David knew their S, and those plans never let me down - just these stupid thumbs from time to time. But it was all worth it, I'm slapping together VTOLs and quads and keeping my skills honed, and helping fellas get into this awesome hobby almost every weekend. The very first plane I scratch built, a Versa Wing, rests on display in my living room. I'm pretty proud of how far we've all come since those days!
Nothing wrong with Readi-Board planes. Many of us trust 'hundreds of dollars' of hardware to foamboard and XPS craft all the time. A bent motor shaft on a $9 motor was my biggest disaster so far, and that was entirely due to _my_ poor handling.
The idea that dimensions must be rigidly followed or disaster will ensue is also a bit strange. CG and piloting issues are what usually jeopardize a plane. Of all the dimensions Andrew just rolled off, the pitch of the horizontal stabilizer was the primary salient to me.
Yes they knew what they were dong, specially the wings
nice job! love a good scratch build. Flies nicely. My initial thought was though that it'd be hard to get CG comfortable with such a long nose moment and a relatively short tail boom - comparing it viaually to say the form of a Gentle Lady (which it's not that dissimilar to) the overall shape/dimensions are in similar scale, but the wing saddle would need to be a bit further forward... but I love the way it flew. iNav missions next !
Yes the nose was too long. I did move the wing saddle forward about 3cm
Love this kind of build, thanks for sharing! Where is cg? Thanks
30% 60mm
Great looking model. I have built several hundred since 1952 (yep-I'm mature!) I have over 30 in my "rash-hangar" still. Great to see people enjoy this great sport. Did you first-launch with iNAV AutoLaunch ?
Superiorly experienced I would say. No autolaunch, I no longer use it.
Andrew, setup some waypoints and fly some missions along the coast?
Too many low flying planes and choppers for missions here.
Thank you for your excellent videos.Any idea for sourcing xps foam since bunnings changed to the Bastion brand ,which according to reports seems lacking ….Cheers
Luckily I bought up a decent supply before it disappeared from Bunnings. No other source as far as I can see.
@@AndrewNewton Thanks I did too ,but running low …Cheers
I'll try the blue stuff and report back
Mate I thought you would do a tour of that island or is that not allowed with line sight in Oz
Not suitable for showing here Nick, but it is my standard FPV jaunt. 2km to the back of the island, maybe 10min flight total
@@AndrewNewton got ya in Queensland for November 😍
@@NickChittyFlying Excellent. Hope the QLDers treat you well.
Any thrust angle? Never really know when and how much to use
Down 3 degrees and right 2 degrees
Yes, as Jordan said, a little bit down and a little bit right. But it wouldn't really matter if you just made the mount square with the fuselage.
So much fun. I like this kind of diy cheap easy experiments. I just wonder how can you get a crisp video feed??
fpv systeme .. katlbss ndader bhal ta3 virtual reality
HD digital FPV gives the clean signal and range. Runcam Link and DJI V1 Goggles
👌👌👍👍
🤙
Hi, could you explain how to check our motor connection using multimeter?
My motor doesnt respond even though I already connected to my Servo tester, battery and ESC
Thank you so much
Using a multimeter, set to resistance (ohms) and connect to any 2 of the 3 wires going to motor, you should get a low ohms reading between any pair. If no reading then you probably have a break in a winding on the motor.
Thanks RB, also check resistance of ESC wires end to end for breaks or desoldered connections.
Hello sir it my speedybee 405 refuses to arm the moment I unplug the usb connector to my computer.

Thank you and Bravo for publishing videos on “CZcams” concerning small planes.🤗
I suggest you send me their designs in order to develop them locally here in Morocco.
For a reward or a price that you will offer me. I will choose a large format for toys or manquins.
thanks for your help
If I have made plans they would be linked in the descriptions. Feel free to use them as you wish.
