      Thank you so much. I worked hard to make something that I thought Tamiya would have designed. The nylon one has been a good seller actually.

    LOVE IT!! LOVE the Pajero! Beautiful paint scheme - both of them. I used to paint 1:1 cars back in the day. Not full time, I was a mechanic. But I did get to play with different types and methods. Dupont Imron was my absolute favorite! Unfortunately, people who have never even seen a car being painted.... decided that Imron was bad - and all but outlawed it.😕
    I've never actually seen your method of striping before, but can totally see how it works. I've got to try that! Now I want to find a G2! I loved that buggy! I'm told that the Rising Fighter is the exact same chassis. That may be easier, because Omni Models on EvilBay, has the RF for less than $90.00!!! 😎 Then I could just find a G2 body - and of COURSE, put your independent front suspension on it! 😉 That was really the only thing that I really hated about Hoppers and Hornets.
    Now, about that Pajero....which I completely LOVE. I've never seen one (I was out of the Hobby from 1997-2016). It looks like Brat wheels on it. Is that an ORV?? 😲 If so, I've GOT to get that one!

      Thank you! I too painted my own full size cars. Fun but such a pain. So the Pajero is what the Midnight Pumpkin and the Lunchbox are based on. It has their chassis. It was a one off car that Tamiya made and really are not that valuable. it is the 58044 model number. They did re re-release the body on the Pumpkin wheelie chassis as the Montero but the body is identical. I actually made all the lights on mine work. You can see them on episode 5. As for the GH2, Tamiya is re-releasing it actually!

    • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks
      @CarminesRCTipsandTricks Před 7 lety +1

      I've personally never seen a Pajero... I can only assume that they took the chassis, and added the lower addition. Now I'm going to wonder what it must have been like! Being a one off SHOULD make it valuable, shouldn't it?
      I've never seen the Montero either.... I guess that was all in the 90's.
      I will check that episode out!
      I had heard they were doing a re re on the G2! I'd love to try to get one.

    I had the Super G in the 90's loved it until i dropped a 50+ rpm reedy in it and busted the hell out of it. Had to put my Pumpkins wheelie bar on the back. It was a hell of fun while it lasted lol. I had so many RC's back in the 90's but the Super G Grasshopper II was one of my favorites fsr.. You don't see many of these on you tube at all..Good stuff man thumbs up!

      Well i'm glad you liked the video. It is a great car but, yeah, 50mph might be a bit fast for it! Haha!

    • @TboneTenEighties
      @TboneTenEighties Před 7 lety

      AMPRO Engineering Haha not mph i think it was prob pushing around the upper 30's/40 mph maybe. It was a Reedy or Trinity 50,000rpm brushed modified motor. Busted the front end/chasis. I was happy running then sad afterwards lol. Ahh The good old days when i 540 and electronic speed control was a big deal. Again great video.

      Lexan is way worse since it's harder to mask, for me any way.

    I love the color scheme, it looks amazing. Your wing is fantastic! Geez, now I want a Grasshopper II now .... Bumper and Hubcap? Crash Test Dummies toys and show?

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 6 lety

      Haha thanks. I never liked the GHII but then decided I was going to figure out why. Well, turns out I didn't like the colors, the lack of wing and the lack of aux lights. Yeah, I always loved Crash Dummies. I have a lot of them and now my daughter likes using them all in her doll house. They work well and can simulate a slip and fall.

    • @MauGino
      @MauGino Před 6 lety

      I've always loved Tamiya models, even though I've never owned any. I haven't had an RC vehicle in over 20 years. I've got the itch the last few months so I've been researching, reading reviews and watching a ton of CZcams videos. I'm seriously debating on a custom build. I've slowly collected accessories, a scale body, decals for an idea I'm still kicking about in my head.
      I hear most of the Tamiya models are fairly easy to build. My first RC truck was a Marui Big Bear, I should have never let it go. The second kit I had was a Kyosho Turbo Optima, that gave me fits building it, granted I was only 14 at the time. Not knowing how to properly cut lexan and using tin snips .... * sigh *
      I love that Tamiya has a lot of hardshell bodies on their kits, Blackfoot, Lunchbox and Monster Beetle are my favorites. If they just sold the shells, I think they'd do very well in the industry.
      Crash Test Dummies was hilarious. It deserves a reboot. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and tutorials. I've gotten a lot of good tips and ideas. OK, enough rambling ... back to watching videos.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 6 lety

      I think tamiya does sell the body sets by themselves. I know they are all over ebay. Man I never thought of a Crash Dummies reboot. They did one a few years back but it was awful. I still love the old CGI movie they made in the early 90's

    • @MauGino
      @MauGino Před 6 lety

      I know I've seen some bodies on Ebay and I think some retailers sell the bodies, like Tower Hobbies ( I could be wrong ) . I think on Ebay some people are selling the bodies on kits where they've changed the body on their build.

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 6 lety

      Well a lot of ebay sellers break kits for part sales. It is a very helpful practice with the RERE cars.

    Nice work! Do you know if it is true that the Tamiya Rising Fighter is just a Grasshopper 2 with a different body? Unless it gets a re-release I dream of someday using the Rising Fighter to make my own Grasshopper 2.

    • @unmoderatedahole
      @unmoderatedahole Před 7 lety +1

    Hubcap and Bumper are crash test dummies toys from early 90s. 100% guess, I do remember that as being a thing though.

      @AMPROEngineering  Před 7 lety

      That is correct! 3 points! I loved them as a kid but I think the Tyco Crash Dummies are kind of forgotten now.

    To do your double-wishbone front end is more than $75 dollars and that is without the hardware. Just parts. OMG. MAN I am a single dad trying to do this for my son., OMG, I'm so sad thinking about not being able to do this mod. We need food and stuff. I feel bad taking money from the household to buy these. Damn. I really wanted to do this for my son as A B-day present Damn. :-(

    • @AMPROEngineering
      @AMPROEngineering  Před 2 lety

      Oh man im sorry. Times are tough right now for sure. The Ampro parts are neat but the car is more than usable with its stock parts. The factory ABS parts are more flexible anyway so that would be a lot more targeted to younger drivers. Hang in there man.
