- I didn't know how bad I needed a Sunflower shawl in my life until today!
I was able to make this shawl in an afternoon plus some of the early evening!

materials needed:
K / 6.5mm Hook
For a solid color SHawl: three ( 364 yards) skeins of a #4 worsted weight / DK yarn, I used Red Heart super saver
For the Sunflower look, here is what I used:
2 skeins of Red Heart - Cafe Late
Less than 1 skein of each: Red Heart - Coffee
JoAnn - Big Twist in Varsity Gold and Rust
1 Skein of Red Heart in - Lemmon:
If you want the shawl to be a bit smaller, still adult size, just a bit smaller, use a 5.5mm hook instead of the 6.5

I remember wearing these!! We used to crochet them with tie dye yarn, yes, back then you could buy tie dyed yarn, it was the hippie era after all, and of course fringe, fringe everywhere, and we made ours with VERY long fringe I'm talking ungodly long fringe! I think 1 1/2 feet. lol 😂
❤❤❤😂
How fun! Wish I could have seen it!
@@aydenwoyus7943 I think if you Google boho hippie tie dye shawl or ponch with fringe, you could possibly see a picture of one.
Yuppers the longer the better the fringe. 😂😂😁😁
@@CarlaDElisa remember the vests with fringe to your knees? Lol 😂
Very nice!! Back in the day they were absolutely my colors… take me back to the 70’s!!! Life was so much easier then and I was 50 years younger lol
Oh, that came out so well! It's just gorgeous! VERY '70s! And you nailed those sunflower colours, Corinna! In regard to wanting someone, anyone, to notice something I've made that's fabulous (in my mind, lol) when I wear it out... GUILTY! hahahaha😂! It ain't just you, kid, I do it, too! And I would bet most of your subs do, too! If I were you, I'd be wearin' that shawl out SOMEwhere the very second the temperature drops enough that I wouldn't melt under it! I'd probably wear it to a couple of places in a row to increase my odds of being noticed, lol! Thanks so much for another awesome vintage pattern. Best channel on CZcams! ❤ xx
Marvelous ‼️. Imagine standing in front of a sun flower garden wearing your sun flower shawl My heart glows with glee❤
Wow this is absolutely awesome. Right now I'm making a queen size bedspread from your pineapple and cluster pattern. 😊 I'm almost out of yarn and my daughter can't seem to find a Walmart that has it. I believe I'll need 4 more skeins to finish it up. I thought I would do the coat next but no I will be making this one next! Thank you so much for all of your hard work you are much appreciated ❤❤
I bet if you post the type of yarn here, there will be someone who has some spare skeins. Give it a try!!!
I'm also doing a bed spread the Alice Brooks one. Was also leaning the way but it's shawl for me too. I need to finish something lolarrrgggggg
@Aegopodium my daughter finally found some today!! I told her to buy it all! Then she tells me there's only 4 skeins 😂😂
@@cynthiapaxton8343I hope you finish it soon. I have just bought a cabin to spend the winter in and I'm going to decorate it in all things vintage crochet 😊
I made one!! I love it!! I tried to share the photo on IG, but my comment keeps getting deleted (prolly because of the IG link). I did grey with neon borders! It’s so cool, I’m so proud of it. First thing I’ve ever made besides scarves lol! You have great content!!❤
I feel good when I see these photo's. Thank you.
♿️ Yes, I also enjoy wear my crocheted creations out in the public. At my doctor's office is when people tell me stories about that one family member who knitted socks for everyone. Children love to stand next to me and watch a left handed lady use a hook to make something pretty.
I get people to relax at the blood lab which is nice for me as well. And one older gentleman just a few weeks ago was about to cry when he told me about losing his wife. I think she crocheted from her wheelchair.
I've given out more crocheted slippers than I can count during Christmas. I even slide a Bible verse or two into their plastic bags. Thank you for your videos. I remember these old patterns but never had the time or money to make them. 🪥🧶🌻
Brilliant depiction of a sunflower, you have nailed it, you have elevated the design to another level, and the colours are so 70's,I recall wallpaper, and fabric sofas and crockery in these colour ways,I love it
I recently subscribed to your channel and just have to say how incredibly impressed I am with the amount of work and videos you've come out with in a relatively short period of time! WOW. So much to see and watch here. Looking forward to going through each video. I'm a sucker for 70's ad 80's vintage so this is right up my alley. THANK YOU for keeping the past alive. What a treat! I sincerely appreciate your talent and creativity...you're amazing!
thank you so much, I work non-stop, but after this im taking a short break :)
Nostalgic wonderful 👍🏾 I'm a 70s baby 😊 1973😊
Yes, ma'am, you did! Really lovely. You know, I occasionally hear myself agreeing with your videos, out loud. You'll ask a question like "You know how when..." and I'll be like "Yep!" I'm not crazy, I swear. Well, I AM little bit crazy, but not in a bad way. I think I need more coffee. Lols & hugs
Whow Corinna.. it's beautiful. It's really you. 🌻🌻🌻Corinnaflowershawl🌻🌻🌻🙂🙂 I wonder how you manage to crochet and teach so much in one week !!!! Thank you🙏🌻
Oh thank you!
Stunning. Color choice definitely on point. Beautiful sunflower. Appreciate a break from the small intricate fine thread work. Needed this in my life. Those lashes don’t need mascara 😉 stunning on their own
Thank you so much!
The shawl came out beautiful! Thank you for the tutorial! I agree with you that the single crochet border is nicer than the slip stitch.
And I too want people to notice what I've made. I think it's normal. We should be proud of our skill and work.
Always excited when you post!!❤Plus, I LOVE the 60s and 70s (and the 30s, and the 40s, and the 50s! [and every other decade! Except maybe the 80s…]) Ok, I just love Vintage! Thank you for cultivating that love, girl!!
I love this! Thank you so much for alll the wonderful tutorials. 🌻🌼🏵
This is both inspired and inspiring! Thank you!
Oh my! That’s absolutely beautiful! Fall is the best….you did a fabulous job! Thank you 🧡💛
Thank you so much!
Your uploads always make me so happy.
Can we maybe do an 80’s leg warmer pattern??!!
Omg I’d be SOOO happy!!
I dont have an 80s leg warmer pattern, but I do have a tutorial on my other channel for leg warmers, my own design , very easy :) czcams.com/video/9LDB29y8-Dk/video.html&pp=ygUMaXRzIG5vdCBrbml0
You are not the only one. Everything I make I can not wait to wear it out and show it off
That colour suits you, what a gorgeous shawl. I am also going to be taking a break for a few days after I finish this blanket. I am desperately trying to finish tonight, I want to take it to my brothers place to photograph it in his beautiful living room tomorrow. this is for my niece who is getting married next week.
It's beautiful Corrine! I love the colors you chose! Thank you for sharing this! And, you look beautiful girl!!!❤
Thank you so much!
Love the colour choice changes. Much morevpleasing to the eye. And thank you for the bright and happy content. Much appreciated.

I gasped out loud when I saw this finished. It's gorgeous. It looks great on you, and you did a beautiful job! I found my next project 😁😍
Hiya corinne! 100% beautiful. Your sunflower idea is perfect and you are stunning in it. Please dont overwork yourself. Xoxo
I made this shawl in a beautiful gold color for fall!! I am obsessed with it!! It’s so beautiful!!! You are the best crochet channel on CZcams, in my opinion.!! You are so talented, funny, kind and an amazing teacher!!! Thank you so much for all you do!!! I just love you!!
So cool. You're killing it lately! You definitely found a calling with this channel 😁
Oh, I love sunflowers! My favourite flowers! This came out beautifully. Well done you!
Thanks so much 😊
Beautiful!❤️
Thank you! 😊
That is just beautiful! It is definitely a sunflower! Amazing work!
Thank you so much!
I just found your channel! I was in high school in the ‘70’s and my mom made each of us girls a gorgeous poncho! I wish I had the patterns she used, they were all different and we loved them. :)
I love this and I’m going to do it in a different flower….. possibly more than one. I absolutely love flowers ❤
Oh I love this! We need to bring shawls and ponchos back. I have several ponchos I've made and I love wearing them out. I have one that's in bright rainbow colors and I always get asked where I got it. :) Right now I'm working on a flower granny square steering wheel cover for my car.
i agree1 :)
We all wore these & capes in the 70's! Loved them then... love them now!❤❤❤
Love love love the color choices for this! Amazing!!
Love it!
I do that all the time, you are not the only one. I get immense joy out of someone else enjoying a project I made and having them comment on it.
I totally love it! The pattern is exactly what I love, nice and easy. Your sunflower turned out beautifully! 🤩
Thank you! 😊
Love this
Gorgeous
👏STANDING OVATION👏🎉
That is gorgeous!! Love sunflowers!! Makes you happy!❤
Love it! Thanks for the tutorial!
Love this, this reminds me of the shawls my aunts wore in the 70's . I was 10yrs old in 1970. I was given my first crochet shawl by my grandmother for my 15th birthday.
Beautiful
That turned out so pretty 🌻
How'd you know I was thinking about sunflowers? This is so pretty! You are such a gem. I'm so glad I found your channel!
Oh thank you!
I'm absolutely making this. Shawl and model are beautiful. Love this. Great job!!!
Oh, thank you so much for that :)
Your shawl turned out beautiful. The colours work so well, you can’t better nature for colour matching. Love it ❤️❤️👏👏🇬🇧
Thank you! 😊
Looks so 70s, lovely!
This is so perfect. I need this myself.
Merlin's bark is very similar to my neighbor's dog. I'm going to try this one.
Very pretty
Really love your personality and authenticity! Love this pattern too! Thank you for sharing
That's cute! 😍 💛🌻
Thank you! 😊
Its beautiful I love sunflowers
Beautiful shaw.
Wow! This is awesome!
Thank you!
That is a very creative way to bring in multiple colors, and it looks great. A spring variation may be to use the same golden yellow for the main shawl, and the filet/netting in the lighter yellow and fringe, like a dandelion, and perhaps 1-3 leafy-green tassels just at the corners and point. I'm going to see if I have all the sunflower colors, though, as I'm sure my mom would like this a lot.
I love this and it's exactly what I've been looking for! Thank you so much!!!❤❤❤
Sunflowers are my favorite flower, so naturally I had to make this in the colors you picked! I just finished the light brown section. It did not turn out as long as yours, so I may add a few rows. This is just gorgeous! Believe me, you are not the only one who hopes for compliments on the things you make, I do that too!
I wore one of these to school!!! Love it!! Thank you for sharing 😊😍😊
Love it 🥰
Thank you! 🤗
Cool love the colors
I love your channel bc crochet is my passion since schooltime. For Christmas I always make crochet works for my family. So I am very happy with this project for autumn/wintertime. When it is done with a lighter yarn and smaller crochet hook, I suppose to do it with the same pattern and same amount but it will take longer time to finish it. The negative thing about the 60/70s is that they used to work with synthetic yarn. Your channel is gorgeous ❤
This is absolutely gorgeous!! I would never have thought of the color choices. I probably would have done all white or cream/off-white. But this just suits the pattern perfectly!!
Very pretty, love the colors!
Thank you! 😊
Good color combo.
Just lovely! Well done 😊
Thank you! 😊
I really liked this one and I think you totally nailed the sunflower vibe. I also love both wigs. I’m happy for you that you are embracing the short wig. You look great in both but you glow in the longer one. ❤
Thank you so much!!
Wow, beautiful and easy!
Thank you! 😊
It's gorgeous 😍 the colors are perfect and the sunflower are such lovely inspiration.
🌻 🌻 🌻 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Thank you so much 😊
I am in love with you and your style, so happy i found you.
You did a beautiful job! Sunflower indeed!
Thank you! 😊
So pretty 😍.
Thank you! 😊
Excellent!🌻
Thank you! 😊
I must date myself but the 70s were the best. At first I was like nooo yea yes yes I do love it of course. I also wanna say how nice it looks on you the size is really the deciding factor ,I live right on coast of Oregon it's chilly and rainy continuously lol no it really is.
Oooh! Why do I see a crochet Sunflower collection in my future? Lol. I recently finished my very first sweater and my colours were inspired by Sunflowers. It's not wearable really but it taught me a lot
Love this Shawl !! Great work !! Gotta find some yarn now !! Thank You for the great video!!
Just finished my “fall”version with ivory, biscuit & umber colorways in I Love This Yarn & 5.5 hook. Posted pic on Instagram. Such an easy purchased pattern & video to follow. Thanks!
16:30 I absolutely do this! You are not alone in debuting a new crocheted item 😊

Lovely 😍 I'm a 70's gurl 😂 boho me anything hippie..
I FREAKING LOVE THIS AND YOUR STYLE GREAT JOB WELL DONE. NICE CONTENT.....
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful. Great color choice I love making shawls, also ponchos.
Thank you! 😊
Success !! its beautiful. As a child, I hated the yellow, orange and brown colours of the 70's (I'm a bright boho kinda girl) but your shawl is autumn gorjussness and I do love me a nice shawl - have made 3, even my granddaughter has one - soo cute! and I've got two more on the hook and one that I am attempting to knit and LOADS of patterns for more. I am gonna have to live for at least another century to make everhything on my wishlist ... which has just had the 1970's coat added to it as well.
Oh, thanks so much :)
Turned out lovely. I’m still working on the body of mine. Cannot wait to finish it!!!! Nice tutorial which I watched while reading the written pattern.
Awesome pattern! One day I will get around to making one. This is at the top. Thank you❤❤
Thank you! 😊
