Have you ever played the Teen Titans video game??!! It had a Mortal Komabt style fighting mini game
There is someone creating the Titanic on doom
If only the "remastered" (it's so bad I can barely call it that) had mod support. Or any recent AAA game.
Please do the goldeneye reloaded video
You should ask this guy to tell us the Roblox thieves who stole his models and let the internet's wrath deal with them.
Thanks again for the interview and shining a light on this mod! I had a great talk with you! :)
I hope your work gets more attention, this is a monumental achievement dude.
Great work ! It's always awesome to see people persevere and release a project they have been working on for a long time. You can see the amount of work and love you put into this. Wish I would have had the heart to finish some of those projects I started a long long time ago.
Congratulations, Man!
Greetings from Brazil!
this thing is awesome man
This is fantastic dude, well done!
Never thought I'd ever hear another living human mention Ship Simulator 2006, god damn dude
Fucking nostalgia man...
I fucking love ship simulator
there are so many better games but holy crap that brings me back
Honestly I thought that game was just a fever dream until I saw it mentioned
Same! I played Ship Sim Extremes more but I knew of 2006
Opening credits on billboards you actually drive past is such a unique and cool idea, I don’t think I’ve seen it before. Incredible dedication and awesome work all around.
RIGHT!!!
I know the MadWorld does it for the closing credits
Such a neat little artistic flourish.
Hello Neighbour used to do it
Why did I read this in Alice’s 1950s quality voice?
This is so rad, it's super relatable to have the feeling of "oh, all of this just isn't good enough, I'll do it myself" but it's incredible to stick with it to completion, especially over 15 years
That's my mentality with Lego!
@@igotin9264 fair point lol I feel like that statement fits Lego builders well
100% yep, can totally relate, I've been working on a left4dead2 map that I started from 2012, I'm building my old workplace which is a dealership, still heaps of work left tho
@@niccyjackson good luck to you
@@novitrix9671 thank you!!
This is kind of hilarious in retrospect, ... like imagine setting out to build something as a kid, and then as an adult realizing you've basically signed up to digitally recreate one of the most intricate moving objects that has ever existed... whoops
For it's time. The Titanic is small compared to modern cruise ships, let alone military vessels. But yeah, your point stands haha
@Evan Mauger yeah, modern cruise ships are significantly bigger in every dimension and the largest oil tanker is almost twice the length and between 1.5 and 10 times the displacement depending on the load.
Titanic being a giant, intricate moving object is part of its appeal
Whats amazing is that they actually committed. I have had tons of those moments and then realize the scope and give up quickly.
@Evan Mauger I am genuinely astounded that I did not register your reply as sarcasm.
Love this slightly more documentary-esque direction you've been going in lately. This was really fun to watch!
It is called character development :D
Same he’s really coming into his own
I enjoy it, it's different. Sadly I also miss his older style at the same time
@@user-tx5nh7pv2o it is a part of His charm. I don't think that the old video style will be leaving any time soon.
@@user-tx5nh7pv2o funny enough I don’t think this is so far removed from his earlier content, he’s just taking on bigger scope projects
When he asks if it is worth it, I'd say yes. This is amazing how it's running on a nearly 20 year old game engine with tech that might date back to the late 90s. Really impressive.
And being released In 2021 which is insane
reminds me of gta mods
@@pleasedontwatchthese9593 screw rockstar for what they did to the modders
@@AchiragChiragg agreed 100%
@@AchiragChiragg cry about you pony boy. Why would any company let you mod the shit out of their online mode they make all their money on? Think a little.
They’re biggest money maker is GTA online and that’s what people were modding

Same lol
@Source Dasher I'll remember it next time
I thought that was a dancing animation
In some ways there is something pure about taking on something without quite realizing how challenging it is.
Agreed, there are so many great achievements throughout history that were probably only ever undertaken because the people doing it didn't realize what accomplishing it would really take
Despite working on little games here and there for 10 years I thought it would be a great idea to make an open world RPG and it's been 6 years in development now xD
And yet, despite of that, still going through the challenge after years and years with no end in sight.
Hi! I created the swimming and ladder mechanics on Rob's amazing mod, among some other things. It's so awesome to see this has gone all the way to Sydney!
babe wake up, new minimme
The elevator breaking is such a clever way to improvise 😂
Now thinking about it, the titanic is actually a perfect fit for the aesthetic and feel of mafia
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 I mean, they kinda did? That's like saying nothing changed from the 60s to the 80s, lol.
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 I mean yeah a world war didn't change much
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 “Things didn’t move that quickly back then”
Aight so we just gonna ignore going from the first ever aircraft to a man standing on the moon in a handful of decades?
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 bruh take a look at the 1910’s compared to the 1930’s. Everything (including fashion) changed drastically. Titanic would’ve still been considered modern in the 1920s, but by the 30s it already would’ve begun showing it’s age
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 Theres a huge difference between 1930s suits/dresses/pants, and early 1900s victorian outfits
I was really hoping that the bit about the bug with the saloon fight ended with him saying the issue was caused by the elevator again XD
Well that got a guffaw out of me, at least. That bloody elevator, hehehe!
@@Ubersnuber You sound like you should have gone down with the Titanic. This is not an insult.
@@SECONDQUEST What?
“Honey what’s wrong?”
“I don’t know I sense some kind of disturbance I think? I have the strangest feeling the elevator stopped working, and I’m seeing red now”
😂
In many ways, true skill is not having everything come easily to you, but being able to find those work arounds and solutions
That's a very good way of looking at it. I needed to hear this, thank you
Absolutely amazing that he dedicated a chunk of his life to build off an engine based in 2002. Wouldn't be surprised if a big studio hired this guy
As a fellow "Titanic nut", I think this is one of the coolest mods I have ever seen.
I'm going to download this as soon as I get a copy of Mafia.
Do you like ships in general or specifically the Titanic? What about the Titanic is so captivating for you?
But remember... It's nonutnovember....😁
@@moistloaf3854 Well, history in general is something I love to learn when I could. Titanic was definitely a huge factor into that love. To put it in short, I was captivated by this hubris of a ship. A ship as luxurious, expensive, and "Unsinkable"... just to sink on its maiden voyage because of the carelessness of the management of the ship.
There's more to it but I don't want it to become a whole essay that delves into every serious aspect.
Titanic nut is exactly how I would describe myself on December 1st
Whenever you'll get mafia install the music mod, because modern steam version doesn't have half the music
I remember modding mafia back in the day. I took a photo of my face and replaced the face texture for the main character's with it. I feel like this guy has outdone me.
Just barely, though
@@wontyoubekind Basically copied eachother
Naw, why would you think that?
My favorite thing about this is that it all literally started over a schoolyard rumor that his friend made up, amazing! From little things...
Thanks for bringing attention to this minimme, loved this video and I'll be downloading this asap. There's something about the aesthetic of Mafia and the Titanic that go together so well.
Super interesting work, well done

Can you cover the here's the boy hello boy meme

A youtube legend, randomly found.
It's been a long journey, even though all I had to do was wait, and the dev had to make it.
The elevator story reeks of wide ranging data structure corruption in the engine. Pushing it right there to the breaking point and trying to navigate right around it becoming completely broken must have been a heroic effort.
As Max Payne developers have found out and detailed on Gamasutra, the dense interior environments in third person games can not be quite true to scale! It would have probably been appropriate to scale the whole Titanic up by around 15-25%. And in a game of the era, you might have cheated environments which don't quite fit together geometrically but connected by portals or more usually loading screens, so you can have 1:1 scale or downscaled exterior, 1:1.1 scale ceilings and 1:1.25 scale interior in horizontal dimension. But that's very much a hindsight consideration and it has also drawbacks in the feel, like we know the ship is not supposed to feel entirely like a palace, everything must be a fair bit condensed and cramped, so i can't outright say that that's a good idea.
First person presentation helps, you can maintain 1:1 scale throughout.
So is this the first time in human history that a school kid started some mod or game thinking "bro this will be so sick" and they actually released something?
Every time I went like "bro I'm downloading Unity and I'm going to make the coolest game ever" I'd get bored after 15 minutes
to some extent most people in an industry picked it up as a kid and took it far. they may drop a project and not come back to it as an adult
We didn't have high speed internet access or video streaming like CZcams and all that easy distraction.
Lots of people didn't even have internet back then, so you were pretty much stuck with games and had all the time to learn modding while offline or whatever.
Kids usually started creating CS maps with Valve Hammer editor, then moved on to bigger projects and eventually full mods and games.
@@alainportant6412 I'd say the modern internet, especially CZcams, actually makes it a ton easier for people now. The amount of resources out there to learn these skills is not only huge, it's also now available in video format, which greatly benefits many people who prefer to learn that way.
And I'd also say there's still tons of modders out there. If anything there's a lot more now than there's ever been. And many more large mods actually get released. The real difference is that many games now have no official modding support, whereas it used to be much more common.
But that's more than made up for by the number of game development tools. There are far more of them, they're largely free, are much much more mature, and are even more well documented than they used to be. Really everything is so much better when it comes to this. E.g. just look at Unity and compare it to some of the shit back then like GameMaker...
I made tons of mods back in my teens for ravenfield. You’re underestimating kids

I think your genuine interest, coupled with a down to earth developer, made this video a bit special. Nothing earth-shattering, but I felt it.
And that other photo-realistic game, you get these two games for two completely different reasons. The jank in this one has a charm in itself, for starters.
And I mean that in the most heartfelt way.
I love Mafia 1 content, that game is so special.
I think so, too.
I absolutely love projects like these, you can tell just how much time and effort and patience they put into it. I really love to see it
I’m curious to what Roblox games copied his mod. I remember playing a bunch of Roblox titanic games when I was younger and really enjoying them. I hope that they weren’t based on his hard work.
yeah it sucks he got his claims rejected by Roblox I bet they drag their feet with copywright claims from small people as it hits their revenue stream to have a popular game shut down
Roblox 🤮🤮
I don't think they still exist though, since it happened quite a few years ago now. The culprit used many different aliases, so for all I know he may very well still be active. Tiny upside of my experience with Roblox is that I was able to take measures before this whole mod became public. Roblox is also the only exception I have made for when people wish to use assets of this mod in their own Titanic mods or games. Because quite frankly, I want to stay as far away from that game as possible.
The Titanic was a real thing you know
@@matthewmiskiewicz8357 yeah but if they copied the actual 3d model mesh than that is still theft
This is absolutely incredible. This guy, and all his volunteers should be EXTREMELY PROUD of their work. I’m so glad you made this video. Wow!! The Mod is just beautiful!!!
Excellent coverage of this outstanding project. Huge props for finally releasing it!
If only the real Titanic had a Mafia mod, then they could have had fun while dying.
I can't wait for the release dates for parts 2, 3, and 4 in 2036, 2051, and 2066 respectively.
All mods for Mafia.
This is pretty uncanny to me, since I was just getting into the series a few months ago. So seeing new content still being produced for this game really made my day
I've been excited for this one since you mentioned it in the Q&A
This sort of content is what makes me have the uther most respect for the modding community of any given game. Not even the devs worked as hard in this game and, despite all the effort put into it, the world gets to enjoy it without paying this man a dime. I'll certainly buy the Mafia PC release just to enjoy it.
Wow, Did not expect you covering this mod! I was surprised when the developer said it's now available to download.
This is so cool. I absolutely love the style of this: Your takes, actual gameplay, and real interviews with the dev. It’s the first time I’m hearing about this mod, and I haven’t played the original Mafia as of right now, but I’m happy you’re covering stuff like this.
Maybe I will play Mafia. Heck, I actually bought 007 for the Gameboy after I saw the video.
I can't believe we've finally got the Leonardo DiCaprio ship in Mafia.
I really respect his perseverance. It is a little inspiring, and very motivating to see someone just muscle through all the countless bugs that come up in making software. I get so agitated with bugs, but I know they are always going to be there. This guy had a good attitude towards all of this. I definitely learned.
He really made an homage to the ship. That's amazing work right there
the beauty of mafia always impresses me
Oh yes.
This is one of my favorite videos of yours recently. I love learning about weird games and projects I'd never have heard of otherwise and it was a real treat learning about something that was very clearly a labor of love.
Well done to Robin and his various team members for all the hard work. I've been following the mod from around 2008 and it's amazing to see how far it's come. Can't wait for part 2!
Thanks for shining a light - this project deserves huge recognition, incredible work Robin ❤
So glad there was a video made on this incredible passion project. This mod deserves all the attention it can get
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!
and thank you for the team that worked on this. I honestly am so surprised it is still alive. I loved the idea I saw this forever ago and had no clue it was this far completed. The titanic mod for Crysis was breathtaking but this is another whole level!
Wow now that's dedication! Time is nothing when you have this level of passion.
I feel like I’m the only person who played Titanic: Adventure Out of Time on the old pc. It was a point and click adventure in the same vein as Myst but with an expertly modeled Titanic from the top decks, to first class, coach, the game room, workout room, bridge and even the machine rooms.
That game scared me for some reason as a kid. I knew the Titanic sank.
I at least know of the game but yeah never played it.
What an absolute legend. This is amazing.
The video I never knew I needed to see. Such a cool mod by a dude so dedicated that he is continuing to work on it even now is worthy of respect. Thanks minimme, love your work.
Huge props to all these guys who worked on this. such dedication.
Thanks for sharing, mate. awesome.
Amazing, used to see it now and then while looking for other mods. Kudos for never giving up!
Absolutely incredible work! Not "just" the boat, but the whole thing leading up to it. In complete awe with this project.
If this was R* or Take2 they would've ordered a lawsuit
Such incredible detail and creativity and persistence from modders. They do better than the game companies do!
One of the best videos he's ever made! I'd definitely be down for more dives into other noteworthy mods that deserve more attention for their ambition and awesomeness. I'm not into Mafia or the Titanic but the story behind it, the challenges, and seeing the ship were all great.
This is so cool, thank you for putting all the work into this project and helping the mod get the attention it deserves!
This is sick, congratulations for staying so dedicated.
Minimme I’m so impressed by your deep dives on some of the most unique gaming experiences. You do great work.
Ahh what a fantastic video and mod. I couldn't stop grinning through most of it as I know a lot of the struggles as a dev/modeler. As well as the good ol 'man video games are great' warm n' fuzzies. This definitely one of the most ambitious mods I've seen and they seriously went all out it's super inspiring too.
Fascinating video. This is an interesting case study in software development.
Starting off with a complete game, with models and audio and AI already present, it makes sense to just build a Titanic model, put some AI in there and have a convincing result.
But as time goes on and the author's ambition grows (some might call this "feature creep"), you have to become a contortionist to work around the limitations of the ever-aging closed-source engine you're working with. The author touches on that in the video.
You reach a point where you're wondering if you shouldn't just scrap everything and restart in a general-purpose engine so you no longer have to deal with the initial engine limitations.
I applaud the author's perseverence.
What a fantastic video, thank you for this! You're one of my favorite channels :)
This is such awesome work. The perseverance, determination, and hard work by Robin and his team is incredible. This is such a great story that shows the power of passion projects. These guys have created something incredible here all by themselves using decades old tools because they loved the game and the subject matter they wanted to work on. Amazing.
Very impressive. This needs more coverage. I hope it gets in the news or something. This is quite the story of man who will do what he's passionate about it.
Great video, I always look forward to your videos and I love this new style interviewing creators. Great job.
It's been a while since CZcams don't notify me of your videos, so when I started to watch this one and realized it was a documentary/interview I was very surprised! Excellent content!
omg I loved those Revell plastic models. I can smell the glue right now...
Really liked this episode, such an interesting video and interesting conversations :) congratulations!
I really like these videos where you interview the creators of the games/mods. It’s nice hearing what the creators have to say.
Loved the vid, the format works really well :)
But most importantly, what a subject again, I never imagined something like this could exist!
this is actually astounding! great job i haven't played the original mafia but I played the 2nd one and it was a lot of fun!
Love this video focusing on mod's in a documentary style is a totally underused format, the developer interview was well done too!
THIS VIDEO WAS AMAZING! New sub, shoutouts to the algorithm for guiding me to this phenomenal video! Keep up the great work man :)
Amazing story and such dedication, thanks for bringing attention to this!
This dedication to complete it is awe-inspiring 😊
I’m so impressed at the dedication put in.
Yeah, this is kinda crazy that this actually happened. I remember going "if I learn how to code I might impress someone and get a job at this company", checked the complete mess of the engine kits and said "fuck it". Just imagining sticking with a project of this scale is crazy to me.
Dude this is amazing I love the idea of it all something so random yet so beautiful shout to all those who stuck with it for 15 years
It's cool enough to me when people figure out how to make it so anybody can download and add something-say, a specific car-into a game, but when people figure out how to make a mod for a game that's on this scale it always just blows my mind. Something like this, or the Skyrim mod 'The Forgotten City' (which is now its own standalone game, btw.) Modders who make what is essentially a whole game within the game are just on a whole other level, and that's what this is. I just can't imagine the amount of work this took. It's a kind of dedication that I just don't even know if I have. It's absolutely incredible.
It’s beautiful work. Inspiring really.
6:36 minimme talking about how the mod feels alive while npcs at the back are spazzing out lmao.
Thanks for this it actualy helps inspire me with my own development.
I never played Mafia or knew about this mod, but in just 5 minutes, you sold me both of them. Amazing video
Holy shit! Truly awesome motivation despite all the downs for the team behind this mod. It’s absolutely amazing for a mod!
beautiful video glad you decided to cover this
Such a great game. I have fond memories playing it on my PS2 back in the day.
I still play it once a year.
He is talking with so much passion and interest its really respectable
This dude just assimilated the two things i loved the most when i was young. I wonder why i never noticed anything from this project although i searched up this stuff millions of times. Thank you for sharing!
Love the dedication and passion. Respect +1000
I never heard about this before and this is something more than dedication thank you for this share.
What a fantastic story. Thanks for sharing
Impressive work, I love the dedication too all those years later
If your a creative person there will always be a time where someone will come up with a similar idea to yours. Don't be discouraged, in a way that can help you. It can give you incite on how well the project was received by the public, you can learn from their mistakes and you can benefit from their marketing.

Didn't expect you to review it.
the project is really impressive and his passion and dedication to it is a wonderful story I wish to him more success
