The lume looks great, I needed something that lasts through the night. I would go for the no cyclop model. The watch dial looks better because of the symmetry. The clasp is useful but I have seen complaints that there could be QC issues which make it hard to adjust. It is not as smooth as a Rolex for sure. But for the money it is hard to beat.

Great video! Just want to mention one thing about comparison. I have Cronos with sw200 and Steinhart ocean one and you know what that Cronos is actually better watch. It has the same movement but better bezel action and much better lume... and the finishing is about the same. So it is amazing watch

@@backintimewatches I have ocean one 39 and I simply can't say it is a better watch at all... I don't know about 9ther Steinies. Problem that I have with ocean one is that lume is just not even close to Cronos and I was not expecting that... not enough layers on the dail so hands are much brighter and it fades awas pretty quick...bezel iz stiff as hell, you cannot move it at all. I had to use wd40 and do some shit to make it usable. It is pretty annoying. That Cronos has sam side to side play on the bezel but I don"t mind it cause it feels amazing. It also pisses me off that Steinhart does not define if is it sw200 or eta movement...yeah it is one of them and they are simmilar but not 100% the same. My Cronos has sw 200 and its just a perfect watch and I actually prefer it over Ocean one. Cheers mate, keep up the good work ;)

I have this watch with an sw200. I gotta say, it is one heck of a watch for the cost. Compared to the submariner, there is a huge gap in price. and a much smaller gap in quality to be honest. This watch is an all around win. Cronos knocked it out of the park. 100% worth the money in my opinion.

I have had 2 PT 5000 both run at Cosc standards similar to the Highest grade Sellita movements in my Sinn watches. To be truthful all ETA 2824 s and clones can be adjusted to Cosc, I suspect Sellita don’t do this on basic movements as there would then be no need to buy higher grade movements.

Great video! Just ordered the Cronos no-date version. Two reasons... 1.) I'm not sure why, but the Cronos uses a crystal that sits slightly above the bezel. While I don't mind the boxed look of the crystal, I do think the cyclops draws unneeded attention to it. 2.) I am becoming more of a fan of the "symmetrical" look of the dial on no-date models. This also negates the cylops magnification/alignment issue. But all things considered I would have to agree that there is a certain "look" about the Cronos that gives it a more refined appearance compared to the San Martin. IMO, Cronos should offer a flat crystal with the correct magnification on the cyclops. This would be the ultimate Submariner homage at just under $250. Could probably be a DIY project for most watch enthusiasts, and you could still keep the total cost below $300.

mine was bought via amazon. it was most likely a recycled return. bezel wasnt aligned and it stopped 3 times but a shake it would restart. opened it and low and behold ragther than using the kick out built in tabs to hold it, it uses 2 clamps and one and its screw was just floating around. so, i reinstalled it, and just barely rotated the movement (and dial) and voila it lined up with bezel. running at +4.5spd. I DID grease the clutch for the keyless lock and winding wheel. Used small amount of PAO syn grease......for my guns.....shrug.....works great and winding is like 50% easier now. I was impfressed witht he movt. looks like a base ETA or sea-gull. I have a sea-gull 2824 clone and yes it winds WAY easier, but needs regulating. I have it to replace a broken mainstaff for balance on my Tissot Powermatic 80- chronometer. damn shame. that ran 0.01 spd

First: Thanks for watching and commenting 😊 That means a lot to me 🙏
If you check my videos I’ve owned and reviewed several San Martins. So I’m well experienced with SM watches and I only compare with that experience in mind. Don’t have to have the SM in my hand to be able to compare the two watches…
Would never compare a watch to something I’ve not owned. That would be stupid 🤷‍♂️
And I only say that this Cronos is better than the SM submariner that I owned. Not that Cronos as a brand is better overall than San Martin.

Understand this situation well, steel cord production is made by processing waste metal in China. it can never be one-to-one with a rolex steel. Another issue is that if you are going to buy a watch, there are have 5 important subject.
    1. The hour and minute hands should be as high quality as Rolex, so it is important that they are shaved.
The straps of the 2nd watch must have been made of 1st degree steel pilotage.
