- Check out how ETH Zurich's Department of Architecture is using almost 100 Original Prusa 3D printers to teach students about hybrid modelmaking technologies! Students assemble their own printers from scratch and learn to design, slice, and print 3D models. And that's not all! They also sells 20 of its printers to students at a reduced price each year to keep the lab up-to-date. Calling all architects and building lovers, you don't want to miss this!

This is a great video. The idea having the student to build the printers they will use soon gives them a huge advantage. Not only to be able to fix whatever happens but also knowing how it really works.
Many IT problems we have today are based on the issue that so many programmers/developers do not have a deep idea how a computer works.
I loved it when 3dJony said "it's CADing time" and CADed all over the place
LMAO
this is great material for other universities to jump in!
dude shaped like a U at 0:38
Thanks for the information ✌️
8:45 I can't believe they actually printed that model in that orientation, when I saw it in the slicer earlier I thought "Better flip it around!" but no, it actually works! :D
i think that same
That is the excercise. To learn about brim, and how it can best be used for architecture.
Amazing 💪🔥
Smart wife.
when will you develop the old mk3s printer? Its slow and obsolete, and expensive for basic features
ETH best
What device do they use added to the display to replace the SD cards? Is that something wireless or an RFID reader?
i would like to know this to.
I think it's just a lockable compartment for these card so nobody can mess with it
@@-ljk- seems like a massive lock. And how do they manage the keys then. Quite a hasle
@@jvleugels beats me
No printing the phallic objects from printables after hours...
Im interested in the Locks on the Printers. blocking the SD card slot.
It was the best way to help students be respectfull of their colleagues printers. It reminds them to ask, if they want to use them. Basically the same thing i tell my kids every day. 😂
Are Prusa's capable of printing overnight without monitoring? How does the ETH tackle long cuts? What is the protocol?
5:25 Anybody know what app they were using with those checkered boards to do the 3-D scanning?
Qlone! I use it to initiate ny students in the mathematical magic they is photogrammetry. The exercise is to first model in clay, scan, adapt in rhino then finally… of course: 3DPrint
👏👏👏👏💪
Bro has built in auto-tune. 🔥🔥🔥
I like since
I would like nasa
What happened to his voice ?
its 3D printed
i really hope youre young enough to feel bad at that comment in a few years
@@Alexander_Meyer i was thinking about an audio error but nvm you don’t need to be so mean lol
@@benhartwich6465 yeah im the mean one
@@benhartwich6465 I also thought it was a microphone issue.
0:07. u see it?
Looks like the roll is installed backwards, but maybe it's a workaround to some rolls wanting to unspool too much and get tangled up.
Nooooooooooooooo. How? Why?
When are you going to start catching up with the Chinese clones? Quit reveling in the past. It's not what you did. It's what you are doing
“Constantly updated lab” lmao. The prusa is the same printer year after year after year because they’re done innovation and only care about acquisitions
I caught that too. printing at 30/mms with a i3 style printer is as cutting edge as plastic spork.
Really? Its 2023 ,they study engineering and its their first "contact" with that subject ?? That is so sad its almost laughable...still sad though🙄
They are not engineers 😛 they are architects. Architecture at ETHZ is not an engineering degree. The program is more concerned with design, concepts, art, craftsmanship, materials, sociology, living environments, city planning, sustainability, etc. Technology is also part of the degree, however less detailed and less central than it would be in an engineering degree!
Sad that you cannot even read a title. Have you not been to school, or was it more important to criticise?
@@RS-ub7cu lol you are probably one of those ...that explains a lot😄
In my entire EE degree, I did a grand total of 2 hours of soldering, welcome to academia
Joseph made him come in even though he said he lost his voice lol. Poor guy has his bar code tattooed on his wrist and has to do what daddy says or daddy gets angry. you wont like daddy when he's angry lol.
lol
What's up with his Voice? Inhaled Helium?
Damaged vocal chords.
😁😁Unbelievable sound I thought my speaker was broken lol
This is the testing beta XL :-)
I have a Polyp in my vocal chords. Its common in singers. I guess its an occupation hazard. I managed to get most of my voice back through life style changes like yoga and breathwork. But i still need to remove it surgically soon. 😢 wish me luck!
@@jonathanbenhamuesayag6777 Jonathan, best of luck with the operation!
