As a bandwagon OkC fan during the KD Russ Harden days no one is close to Sam Presti in drafting., KD, Russ, Harden, Sabonis, Ibaka, Chet, JDub, reggie Jackson, Jeff green, Giddey, Cason wallace. His biggest problem was paying those guys in a small market and the coaching hires. Hopefully it’s different this time around.

alot of people who dont watch the thunder dont understand that a big strong guy like steven adams doesnt fit our style.. mark daignault has talked about this many times that we give up size for players who can defend almost every position, run in transition, and can shoot 3's... and it works to perfection if you look at our record, such a high point differential, top 5 in defense and offense, and etc... were not gonna get a big guy who cant shoot to ruin our style. we can beat nikola and denver as we've already seen this year with a 3-1 record against them..
Nah, I was saying the same thing a few weeks ago that he would be a good fit, they need a bruiser down low, plus Steven Adams is good in the pick and roll. They have problems with teams with stronger big men (lakers, clipper, etc). They definitely a finesse team but they need somebody with some weight when the game gets physical. Steven Adams does more than just clog the lane with a body, he can wear down the other bigs. I like Chet but he’s too light when going against strong offensive post players. I think he would be perfect.

@@west1788 Watch some clips of Steven Adams, sometimes if we haven't seen someone play for a minute, it's easy to forget what they were doing, he's not one of those plodding big men. If you're looking for Steven Adams to bring the ball up and dribble through traffic, he's not your guy. Him in the pick and role with SGA and also being able to defend strong big guys (not just block, but defend) is the only thing they're lacking. Chet can block but he's not strong enough to keep strong big men off the block (it's not his game and he's better being light and mobile). Steven A. worked to perfection with Westbrook who pushes the ball (reason why he's valued with the clippers, he sped their pace of play up) and also Ja Morant, so he's proven to work in a fast paced game. OKC has enough players that can bring the ball up (almost the whole team can handle which is ridiculous). OKC is my team but if they do get knocked out, it would be because of a team with strong big men, you need to cover all bases and looks teams throw at you.
@@FakeOutraged i understand hes good but im saying that our coach said he dosnt want a big slow guy who cant shoot on our roster and that we sacrifice that for athleticism and players who can guard 1-5.. we had a chance to trade for a big guy this offseason but we traded for hayward instead. when we played JV this series we coulda had biyombo big body guard him but we sacrificed size for someone who fits our style

Interesting note about OKC's leadership. Michael Winger and Will Dawkins both worked with Sam Presti and were apart of the rebuilds of the KD, Russell, Harden era and the current group with SGA. They both are now the new front office leading the Washington Wizards rebuild. Winger is the Pres. Of Basketball Operations and Will Dawkins is their new GM. Brian Keefe the Wizards new interim coach was also with OKC for years and was the primary developmental coach for James, KD, Russ and SGA. Who knows, in a few years you may see new life in Washington!
Presti/OKC tree is real. Getting off Beal's contract was a smart move for them.

Can't underestimate Giddey, when SGA and J-Dub was out he stepped up and led the team. He's been hitting his 3s and playing solid defence. He fixed all the things people said was wrong with his game.
And don't forget, he's the third youngest on the team. He's a rookie aged 3- year veteran starter.
In NBA2K23 OKC is always one of the top teams in the west after even like 6 seasons
They need to keep there team the same, continue to bring in good potential draft players, they need a guy who’s going to do the dirty work, another stretch big and a knockdown shooter

OKC is positioned to be able to add certain pieces that still fit their kosher and their timeline. They have the draft picks and they have players who have some talent on their bench that can make that happen and then because of their culture and there training process. as long as they keep the money right, they should have successful team from here on out
