  • Hi Prepsters,
This is Ola with Pandemic Prepsters and today were talking all things pint size. Whatever you are storing for your long-term food storage in Mason jars or mylar bags I have the tricks and tips to make it as easy as can be.
From what size oxygen absorber do you need for a pint size mason or Mylar? Well you know between 50cc and 100cc oxygen absorbers depending on the density of your food for a pint size. However, I just use the 100cc and don’t worry about it. It’s full proof and it will work.
Make sure you get your milelar bags and oxygen of sors at my favorite place to purchase which is www.PackfreshUSA.com

Big question! I see conflicting opinions on the zip lock. A couple ppl said you have to heat BELOW the zip lock rendering it useless! But you are saying here that the zip lock will last for 10 yrs plus (by only heating above the zip top)???

No. The zip is built in, muck like when you buy grated cheese. The zip is used after opened. I think the main issue is people hear a zip can’t hold off oxygen, which is true if you don’t seal above it.
