We're going to a 2 bed bungalow, i have a feeling they will say we have to move in the post op time when I won't be able to do anything. 😅 . It'll be fine. 😂. You can do this Mel i believe in you. ❤

I realised as I was uploadgin that it sounds somewhat abusive to say "drag her out of bed by her hair" and I hope people know that I was just verbalising a frustration not threatening to do it... It's funny what words come out of our mouth sometimes and then in my case watching back I think "whoah! that was harsh!" lol

You got this momma Mel! I know you have all the mental coping skills to get thru this. I had to move in with my mom after my divorce in 98… with a 6 yr old. A year a half later she gave notice to move without having another place to go. We stayed in a motel for a week. It was the scariest time of my life. I almost lived in my van. God will answer your prayers… have faith, momma!
Your support and belief in me truly warms my heart. Thank you for sharing your own experience and reminding me that I'm not alone. I appreciate it more than words can express. That must have been such a scary time for you - look at you now! I have hope.

Oh so familiar with waking up in the morning to teenagers (x5) mess..I remind myself they have eaten and they are learning to cook. I just need them to learn to clean up😂

We hadn't moved for nearly 16 years but did move 2019 , and have been in this house 5 years in February, renewal is February too hopefully another 2 years 😊

Hi Mel, things will get better. I went through the same thing this past summer. I am from the USA and alot of people are going through this. Just don't feel like your alone. I don't know if your religious or not, but i just kept praying and believing that God would give my family and I a place to live, and he did. Just believe in Jesus. You and your family are in my prayers.❤️🙏❤️

I live close to where you do in qld and I’m a renter too. I am feeling very overwhelmed with the prospect of the lease not being renewed. It’s a reality that I have to consider atm. Honestly life is a bastard sometimes. Much love 🥰

And, a friend was told last year she needs to move out of her rental property. She was staggered to find other rental places, despite being smaller are a lot more than she’s been paying currently. Awful situation.

We have so much in common, hubby and I work full time, I also have 4 kids, and I'm also a little messy 🤣 (I'm trying to learn to call it executive dysfunction)
Im also not sleeping, and considered a 3am clean up, but once i made that decision i fell asleep 😂
Idon't have the stress of renting over my head, or that upcoming renewal. My kids have, and it's terrifying when it's looming. I suffer the anxiety right along with them. Somehow, something always comes up. That doesn't help jack sheet though does it, but you will make it through whatever lies ahead.
If you're prepared and able to pay the extra rental, have you approached the RE to see if this is the owners plan? You know they can't raise the rental over a certain amount, but they can re-lease it at a higher rate. You might be able to set up a whole new lease agreement that will save you all time.
I'm so sorry to see you hurt, I felt it right along with you and just wanted to share a coffee, give you a cuddle and put some music on and help. Darling, it's just mess, it's not dirty, but I understand the overwhelm and understand the choices you make to keep the peace inside - we are very much alike.
You've inspired me though, I'm putting my phone down and tackling something right now. I'll think of you often today.

@MySemiSortedLife fast forward six months, you might just end up with everything you dreamed of.
Sometimes, we get what we need, not what we want. This could be a whole new beginning for you, forcing your hand to declutter, cull and sort, you could end up with a new home, and kinder real estate agent.
I wish that for you, and for it to override the feelings of overwhelm.
I need to make space for family moving in, I'm in the same boat albeit with less pressure, but honestly, my place is worse than yours 🤣
I am putting in the hard yards and trying not to resent the world, fighting the overwhelming tasks in front of me and every now and then I think "isn't this what I've been wanting?"
Well, yes, but I didn't want to have to actually DO it 🤣
I needed a reason to get up and stop making excuses, and this is it.
I also think by doing, it helps as a reminder in future to not let it get this bad again.

Sometimes I think you feel depressed so much of the time that you forget how to be happy. You are not alone though, you have you your hubby, do you share your thoughts and feelings with him???? Love your pjs by the way, pjs are so comfy and sometimes cooler than regular clothes. Once you begin the decluttering journey it does become easier as you go, I had to do it before I moved into my current place, I rented a big trash container and threw everything that I couldn't take or donate into that. One space at a time!!!! Sending big hugs your way. 😘
Yes - I def share how I feel with my husband and he vice versa. We have this kind of unspoken rule in our relationship where if one is struggling the other picks up the slack... it works out pretty evenly much of the time.

I so understand the struggle of the rental crisis! I moved twice last year after having not 1 but 2 landlords not renew my lease. As a single mum with no savings, was so stressful so sending you the best of vibes!! ❤

Hard relate Mel!!!! To everything!! Had a good cry yesterday too, feeling the panic and the overwhelm about moving!! We have 7/8 weeks before we have to move. Doing one cupboard at a time here, seems achievable and not so overwhelming. You will do this and it’s going to be tough but we’ll all be cheering and waiting on the other side, ready to watch new adventures!! I certainly feel better knowing I’m not alone doing this, hope you feel this too xx

@@MySemiSortedLife no not yet! We broke a lease when we moved here and had to pay double rent for a month - was an absolute killer, not in a position to do that again. The trouble with looking for places right now is most are available now and we can’t sign a lease now - so waiting a bit closer to the end of our lease then will look and hopefully get somewhere. Our current real estate is really good and keeping an eye out for us for a new place and will give us excellent references etc. We also have a dog and 2 cats and are a family of 7 so that’s weighing on my mind. Deep breaths, it will work out, always does! In a couple of months I’ll look back and think what was I worried about 😊
@@dan8279 Oooh - that's sooo scary. I totally get it- with the real estate on your side though you are halfway there. Ours has been elusive and non responsive which worries me in terms of getting a reference. I joined a Facebook page for private rentals etc which I'm hopeful for.
One big help for me when I recently had to downsize and move was I took time in each room of my house and said "Right, now what do I need to keep, what do I want to try and keep and what needs to go?" I got big black garbage bags and tackled needs to go first. As soon as a bag was filled it went into my car. Each time I drove into town I dropped off my bags at Salvation Army. Anything broken or not donatable went to the county tip. This stratagy helped me cull through things fast and helped lower my stress about "stuff".
That's a great strategy! Taking the time to assess what you need, want, and don't need is such an important step when downsizing and moving. It's awesome that you were able to tackle it room by room and donate the items to Salvation Army. Well done!

Hi, Mel! I think about all of you all the time. This might not be of much help...try to use up the foods and hygiene/personal products that you currently have. It will save some money and there will be less to pack. You have a lot of coping strategies and a whole lot of people behind you. xo

I’m so sorry that you all are having to go through this. I really wish your landlord would reconsider so you could stay where you are. Moving is no fun. I pray you can find the type of house that you really need in a price range that is reasonable. Over here in the United States rent is ridiculous also. many have chosen to buy used campers and live in them in small campgrounds. I see them everywhere.
Yes! That's a true reality for many families here too - it's horrible. I've always said that if I won the lotto I would built a self-sustaining community where tenants could contribute and learn skills to get out of debt, save and purchase their own secure home. It baffles me why the governments are so short sighted when it comes to having a home to live in and the damage not having somewhere can have on society.

I meant to comment on the last one. My mom and I moved around a LOT when I was younger. I would go visit family and come home to a new place and most of my things had been thrown away. It was an awful way to live. My reaction has been to always be cleaning or organizing or purging something. Which can lean the wrong way. I accidentally thrown away important things more than once.
Oh that's traumatising! I'm sure your mum thought she was doing the right thing - but it's in hindsight that we can see our failings. That's what I need to be really conscious of.... Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment ❤️ Mel

Hopefully everything will work out. May it be that you have to just move further out? Are you in a position to buy??? Maybe you could buy a fixer upper and get a good deal. I can feel your stress and I'm sorry!!! My heart breaks for you!!!! Can you apply for low income housing or welfare housing? I don't know if you have that in Australia. There's very few properties out of town that wouldn't cost more with transport. We have more debt than a lender would look at and we earn way too much to qualify for subsidised housing. We don't know why they wont renew the lease - we suspect they intend to refresh the paint and recarpet to sell or increase the rent above market value. We will be ok though... it's just been a shock.

Would depend on how long you have left on the lease as to if it’s financial worth it but I don’t know the ins and outs of rent protection in qld as haven’t rented there for more then 10yrs
We have asked the landlord if they would be open to that - and are waiting for a reply. It is unlikely because #greedypeople. I have a work colleague who was renting her house for 26 years and they chose not to renew her lease and made her pay double rent right up to the last minute - even though they are literally renovating it to increase the rent and did so while she was paying rent still and didn't live there. It is the height of greed.

Dear Mel. I'm so so sorry for what you are going through. It isn't fair. Mel, have you seriously considered buying? 4 bed/2bath brick homes are available at and just above the $500 000 price point in Toowoomba, currently. You may well be better off with a mortgage allowing potentially more security. Take good care of your. 💌💐
We have always wanted to buy - but the reality is we have too much debt and no saving - plus 4 dependent children. We don't have the option to purchase - even in Toowoomba or surrounds. In two years we will only have 3 dependent children and no debt - so maybe then. Thank-you for your support. x

Regardless if the owner has seen these videos or not, mel pits her life out there for everyone to see, os real amd raw. She suffer anxiety and comments like that don't help. @@MySemiSortedLife I have watched her videos for a long time I also used to watch someone else who is just like her and because of that she was evicted from the house I WAS NOT being RUDE I am also a property manager I have seen worse I also know how owners are and when you work for the owner if they say eviction then that is what you have to do
