    I've seen some comments saying that Russian is very difficult to learn. I'm just beginning to learn Russian, and I find it fairly easy to read, write, and say Russian words. In English, they teach a child to "sound it out", when trying to read a new word. That's literally the secret to any new word in Russian. With very little exceptions, each Russian letter makes exactly the same sound in every instance. So, like you state in your instructions, just learn the sounds and start to read. The rest is just building our vocabulary. The only hard part, I believe, is remembering that, while a letter may look similar to to one in English, it doesn't necessarily make the same sound in Russian. Learning the actual Russian alphabet is good for impressing friends. But, for actual Reading, Writing, and speaking Russian, just learning the sounds is the way to go. Thank you so much for your work on this video. It was very helpful to me, a beginner to the Russian language. I didn't try to impress you by translating my English into Russian, since this is a lesson for English speakers.

    Good video, i have been learning for about 2 weeks now, started trying to learn phrases but then switched to alphabet. I know most of it and can sound words out but the hard thing is knowing how to put syllables together, i seem to pronounce each letter individiually instead of in syllable groups. More practise needed!

      Russian Language with Milla oh ok, im dutch so i hear other stuff, btw whats the sound of "ь"? You wouldnt say like "ьак" > neznenakak

    • @helloinrussian
      @helloinrussian  Před 6 lety

      Ь это не звук, это знак, который смягчает предыдущий согласный звук. Например: вес, весь - проверьте звуяание в google translate.
      This is not a sound, it is a sign that softens the previous consonant sound. For example:
      вес-weight,
      весь -the whole

      Go to google translate and click "Listen" in Russian. Don't worry too much about your pronunciation, just repeat how you can. Even you say like сир, криша ... It's understandable for Russians.

    Por causa do hiragana e katakana eu me confundo um pouco, já que o esquema do alfabeto russo é o mesmo do romaji. Enquanto que no russo e no romaji as letras são únicas sendo cada uma produzindo um tipo de som e precisando das vogais pra formar uma sílaba, o hiragana e o katakana são silabicos não precisando das vogais pra formar sílabas

    It's not THE RUSSIAN alphabet, it's Russian CYRILLIC. And it is as native to Russian as the latin alphabet to Germany, but no one refers to it as the GERMAN ALPHABET. The Cyrillic alphabet was developed in THE FIRST BULGARIAN EMPIRE!!!!!!

      You could've just named the video "Russian Cyrillic alphabet" it'll have both the Russian and alphabet words if they search for "Russian alphabet" I just see no reason make these Americans more ignorant than they already are.
