I'm so glad I hope that for my son he is autistic with bipolar disorder and ADHD and anxiety. He's doing well now even though we struggled for many years. He's even in a club called The amazing A's at his high school that is an autism awareness club which they just did a seminar at the local education office which deals with primarily the disabled classes in our county play kicked him out because they couldn't teach him. And he did a presentation on what autism is and ways to help kids with autism learn. 😂❤

My 4 y.o. son has both ADHD and autism. His symptoms are kind of mixed from your 2 youngest boys. He likes to make noise, a lot of noises. We can make eye contact and conversation with him (not as easy as with Simon) but it's hard to maintain for more than 15 seconds. He never had a meltdown ever before. We go to crowded places/play ground quite often, like 2-3 times per week and he never shows any sign of too much sensory inputs.
And he smiles a lot. We love him.

I have autism, ADHD, and bipolar 2 disorder, and for a long time, I couldn't get the ADHD diagnosis. I finally got one 3 years ago. I've always had a slight desire to play with other kids, but I have severe social anxiety so I never have. I stay in my room all day every day because of the anxiety, and cause I don't like loud places. Walmart tends I always tend to be too much for me. I like to ramble on about dinosaurs and I could talk about them all day without getting bored, but when it's a conversation that has no interest in I interrupt and I change the subject, and I do it so much that a lot of people try not to talk to me so I don't hold them in a conversation about "nonsense". To them my dinosaurs and random science facts are nonsense but to me, it's something I really enjoy. I also hold conversations by relating, but people say I try to 1 up them when really I'm just trying to communicate in a way I can understand so I can stay on one topic and not be rude by changing the subject or cutting people off. Sorry I typed so much.

@@7Aheadfamily It's hard to pick one favorite bit I really like the spinosauras because It's even stronger and bigger than the t rex and they lived longer than the t rex. I also like the Gallimimus because it's the fastest carnivores dinosaur. And the Utahraptor, cause they were known to travel in packs to take down bigger and stronger dinosaurs. Thank you for taking interest in my interest. Not many people do that, and they just walk away or ignore me cause I can't tell when they get tired of talking about dinosaurs. People who listen, learn more.

@@7AheadfamilyMost people who don't know much about dinosaurs say their favorite dinosaur is "the king of the dinosaurs" the T- rex, not knowing there are stronger and bigger dinosaurs than them. People like the strength rather than their unique abilities. Some cool abilities are the velociraptor was the fastest bipedal dinosaur, and their instincts worked so well, they can hunt in the dark. Another awesome ability is that the spinosauras was semi- aquatic to escape the deadly dinosaurs that are unable to survive in water, like the land dwelling t-rex and and giganotosauras. And another cool fact is that the Giganotosauras hunted by running super fast and smashing themselves into other dinosaurs at full speed, so they can even beat a spinosauras which is stronger than the t -rex.

He also sometimes spins. His tantrums are like a 3 year olds tantrums when he can’t get his way. He couldn’t have candy last night and man he was sobbing, yelling, stamping his feet. It was incredible to watch. For a ten year old his reaction did not correlate with being denied a candy. I am thinking he may have autism.

I can totally relate based on my own experience and watching my son. I already know he has ADHD, though he hasn’t yet been diagnosed, but it wasn’t until recently that I really started to think he’s probably autistic as well. He is five, and very smart, friendly, sweet, affectionate, etc. but he also freaks out about loud noises, or sometimes any unusual noise. He always asks questions about things he sees or hears. He has trouble listening, but other times he will repeat what you say, word-for-word, even when he was busy making a racket when you say it.
Personally, I don’t think that children should ever be diagnosed with autism until they are at least four years old, which is why I didn’t allow things before now to influence me toward thinking he was autistic. A huge difference between me and other parents of kids with autism and/or ADHD is that I know and remember what it was like to be very young and experiencing those issues. I wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until I was 11, depression at 15, and autism at 28. I knew nothing about ADHD until my parents talked to me about going to see a psychiatrist for it. I recognized the depression myself and asked my dad for help. But it wasn’t until I had to drop out of college (university) when I was almost 23 that someone from the office finally noticed me well enough to suggest that I might be autistic. I researched it and realized that assessment was correct. Many people did not believe me, and accused me of diagnosing myself. It took years to finally find someplace with someone to evaluate me, and I was also re-diagnosed with ADHD. Since that point, certain people have become more accepting of the reality-since it was an actual diagnosis and no longer just something they thought I made up in my head. I never considered myself to be “self-diagnosed”; instead, I think that I just realized that I did have autism. Sure, I’m not professional, but the signs were very clear and it explained a lot of stuff about me that I hadn’t been able to figure out.
Anyway, thank you so much for this video. You guys seem to have a good way of dealing with various difficulties with your children. You seem like wholesome people, and I’m glad I came across this.

An update since that last post where I mentioned I was in the process of getting an updated / re diagnosis is that unsurprisingly they affirmed the autism and also for the first time, diagnosed me with ADHD combined type. I very much relate to the routine/novelty conflict (diagnosed ADHD, strong suspicion of autism, but not formally diagnosed).
I'm not sure quite how much a need for sociality goes with ADHD, though, and sensory issues aren't the only way that autism can interfere with an outgoing disposition, nor do they always interfere.
My brother was diagnosed with ADHD before me, but if he's autistic at all it's incredibly mild (or possibly very well masked, but he doesn't show signs of the emotional toll of masking). Yet I'm the extrovert and he's the introvert.
However, of the two of us, he's always been the social butterfly simply by virtue of being more socially capable. I'm more socially driven, but also more awkward and more gunshy from social trauma. My sensory issues are primarily undersensitivities, so I don't tend to get overstimulated when socializing, it's the stress of trying to meet my social needs in a world that's unfriendly to autism that gets to me. In fact, the primary sensory thing that does tend to overstimulate me is interception interacting with anxiety to drive hypochondria, and having people around tends to calm that (if I imagine up a medical emergency, but I know people are around to give me CPR if I do keel over, the imagined emergency starts to feel much less urgent).

My English isn't good enough but I'll try to explain accurately.
My nephew is almost 4 years old and he doesn't talk he just started to sey a few words in the last 9 months after sessions with a specialist to train him to talk, and then a doctor told us that he has ADHD and he should socialize more and then my sister signed him in a place for children like him who need socializing and the same time that place has a special trainer for kids to teach them how speak but the trainer said that she couldn't give my nephew session because he doesn't sit he's always moving (this specialist is another one than the first) and she transferred him to a doctor and that doctor started to teach him skills and stuff he should know in his age and the this doctor said the he's very clever and can understand quirky and he would talk normally after the speaking sessions but she said that he doesn't just have ADHD he has autism also.
So what we should believe does he just have ADHD or Both ADHD and autism.
I'm not an expert but I feel like he's so normal kid the only difference just he moves a lot and doesn't talk enough. But I don't Know. He'a very active and he loves to hug his older brother and mom and dad a lot. But he doesn't hugs from other family members just he's own family.

    • @7Aheadfamily
      @7Aheadfamily  Před měsícem

Those are some good questions. It’s very possible that he has a more mild autism. It is also very possible to have both ADHD and Autism. One of my sons has both. One thing I have learned is that getting an official assessment to know for sure is worth doing so you know how to better support your child. A diagnosis won’t change the child. It will just help you better understand them and help them better understand themselves. That is great that he is able to get help so early from a doctor.

I was an autism mom but I didn't know until they were almost adults. It's when they were born. My son was born in 1991 and got speech therapy at 3 for a stutter. He was evaluated and qualified for pre-k in the school district. He didn't walk until 16 months old and was born with congenital hypothyroidism.
My daughter was born in 1995, septic after the OB let my water be broken for 52 hours. She was on 4 different antibiotics to save her life. One can cause deafness. She was always happy. She broke her leg at 2 years old and at that point the pediatrician was considering ADHD but waited until she was 4 for a diagnosis. She did poorly on Ritalin as its half life is too short. She started on concerta right before she started 2nd grade and learned to read in 2 weeks. She has auditory processing deficiency. She also is on the autism spectrum. Both also struggle with mental health. My son at 31 has a severe delusional disorder, schizo-affective, diagnosed. And my daughter is 28 still struggles with executive dysfunction and suicidal depression.
Love and hugs to you all. When they were small no one saw what I did. There were no support groups or the internet to find community. I kept wondering what I was doing wrong and why my children we so different from their peers. I escaped their abusive father when my son was 5 and my daughter was 20 months old. As a single mom going to nursing school, I didn't understand. Not until about 2015 when I started hearing about other people whose children were just like mine. And guess what?? It's NOT my fault!
God bless you and your beautiful family. ❤

In the same way, I'll make my own sounds but I'll overstimulate myself and need to stop due to my autism but also feel the need to keep doing it. @@7Aheadfamily I probably have either ADD or ADHD but I don't have an official diagnosis. I was tested 3 or 4 years ago and the results said that the test they made me do said that I 100% had either ADD or ADHD but, the way that my parents described my behavior at home and at school didn't match with a diagnosis so, they couldn't give me an official diagnosis. What my parents said was a mix of them lying and me being really good at hiding my behavior since I would get punished for showing it. Like, they said that I was good at focusing on one thing at a time which wasn't true (they later admitted to me that they where referring to me being able to watch tv and stay focus on the tv, which doesn't count as being focused on something. The person evaluating me was actually looking for things like, can I stay focused on homework or puzzles for a certain period of time for which my max was, at that time, about 3, maybe 5, minutes if I even reached that amount of time and, for a, at the time, 15-year-old that isn't normal)

@@7Aheadfamily Yea, I don't really need an official diagnosis since I seem to be managing fine without meds for it right now and, thanks to my autism and other diagnosis, my IEP at school already covers pretty much everything that would help with ADD or ADHD. If I do need meds one day and am unable to get them without a diagnosis, then I'll try to get one. Right now, it just costs too much to get tested so, if I'll wait as long as possible (even though I live in a country where we have free health care, you either get on a waiting list that is around 2 years long, hope that you land on someone that can diagnose you, realise that you didn't land on that person and get back on the waiting list for another 2 years and repeat until you find the right professional OR you pay thousands you go see someone in the private sector and get an official diagnosis, you might still have a 1 to 2 year waiting list but, if you've done your research correctly, you should get it on the first try)

So my daughters Dr won't get her tested until she's 4!!! And yes I have asked other Drs as well. My oldest is autistic so I think my 2yr old is as well even tho she does act differently. She's still not talking much, she's EXTREMELY hyper my gosh we did a pageant recently and she wouldn't walk or even run on stage she just jumped the whole time. She was fine being around others but doesn't like standing still and throws a fit if she has to. Also during the pageant she ran the halls the enter time we couldn't get her to calm down (she was laughing) she does run at home but not like she was there omg never in my life seen her that hyper lol. She does hand stim but not a lot. She's okay around noise I never seen her act out around noises unless it's fireworks. She doesn't seem to understand what I say I can't even get her to hand me something because she rather run away, talk to herself or play with the object instead SOMETIMES after asking over and over and over again she does finally give it to me. She loves cuddling and meeting new people she has no problem being social as of now anyway. She's constantly swaying back and forth ( not for hours tho) or hitting her head on soft objects not hard ones she does this when she's sitting on the couch or laying in bed again it's not for hours maybe 5-10minutes tops and she gets bored with it. She still doesn't really draw or anything but she likes to scribble. She will watch tv shows tho maybe 1 or 2 episodes tho then she's back to being her hyper self. She doesn't run back and forth here repeatedly though she runs through the house and plays with her toys as well. She actually tries to play with them she doesn't just hold them well most of the time anyway. She doesn't like long sleeves but she gets over it after a few minutes. She will not sleep at night she wakes up all hours of the night!!! She just wants to play all day and all night lol.
What are your thoughts? I'm only asking because our Drs here so far will not test her.

Wow, sounds like you have your hands full. I wonder why your doctor wants to wait till she is 4. What country do you live in? If you don my mind me asking. It sounds like it’s very possible she could be on the spectrum. Also Autism is different in girls. Usually they are better at masking and are more social driven and so they get diagnosed older. Your daughter sounds a lot like my aunt when she was a child. She would jump up and down the whole ride in the car. She never got assessed though, but she says she is self diagnosed Autism.

@@7Aheadfamily we live in Florida I had the same issue with my oldest they didn't finally test her until she was 4 and half as I begged to get her tested at age 2 as well but they refused. My oldest is very different from my youngest that I just described. My oldest gets overwhelmed easier and puts her hands over her ears when she's in a large enough crowd or she will just cry now that she's older she doesn't do it as often but she still has her days. My oldest also doesn't talk a lot but she seems to understand more than my youngest. My oldest also very hyper lol however my youngest is definitely more hyper. My oldest doesn't bang her head on soft subjects and never has however unlike my youngest she does make odd sounds kinda like a humming sound but not as pleasant lol she's also a lot more daring and destructive than my youngest and has always been that way. She's not as social as my youngest but she is getting better now she will hug people but she didn't use to my youngest has always been a cuddler tho. So they are very much different so it definitely keeps me second guessing maybe my youngest is just ADHD and speech delayed but then I sometimes wonder since she doesn't seem to understand what I'm saying maybe she is autistic. She does make eye contact unlike my oldest tho my oldest does just only if we are extremely close to her but my youngest will look at me usually If I'm talking to her whether or not I'm close. It just worries me if she is I already miss out on so much mommy and daughter fun things because my oldest simply can't do them and now I'm afraid I'll have the same experience with my youngest and I can't lie depresses me a lot. I try not to let it because I love them both dearly!!!!! And wouldn't trade them for the world but still can't help but worry about them so much to the point its caused me to have very bad health issues do to stress.

There is so much mom guilt that naturally comes especially when we have kids that are so unique. I have felt it. I was so sad that Ezra wouldn’t cuddle me or even let me hold him when he was little, but when Simon came he loved to nurse and I had missed it so much I nursed him till he was 2 years old! I never thought I’d do that. How is Florida for helping with special needs kids? Do they help with costs? Do you get any respite help? Every state is so different.

There's absolutely no programs here. I am on a waiting list still for my oldest for ABA which is ridiculous I been waiting over a year. However her school has great special needs teachers and they offer her speech therapy and occupational therapy so my oldest does get some help through the school for free luckily. My youngest is too young for school and we can't afford daycare and without a diagnosis I can't get free daycare either. I have tried so many times with a few Drs but they all tell me the same thing it's impossible to diagnose a child under four because it could all be normal and one day it just clicks. It aggravate me because they were very much wrong about my oldest. My kids and I'm not just saying this because their my kids but they are very beautiful and we get told how beautiful they are everywhere we go just about so because they don't "look" autistic people think they just misbehave or stupid which really angers me when I know that's not the case. They are sooo smart just takes awhile for them to show it to others or even to me really but I have seen how smart they are and I know their full of potential just getting them the help they need has been a nightmare. Ops, no wonder you guys so 'noticeable' about sign or symptom due to the contrasting effect.
Just like putting black and white together. But during the identification, by mixing the black colour to the white colour, perhaps everyone is wondering why the white colour become no longer white, the more black colour put into the white, it become darker. At the end, does the white turn into black?
Giving so much attention to the white while ignoring the impact of the black, the white would disappear.
    The black = society
The white = autism or similar
    The multicolored = the minority.
To show you guys or parents in a next level, kindly produce 12 do and 12 don't videos.
    For me,
don't mix two extreme together, as ADHD will do all the stuff in the spotlight while ASD is riding on, just like joining without participate. Not to mention to participate for laughing. Participate means the other person join what autism is doing, and autism need to react the other participants. This will improve some team gesture. Do think of an event or occasion where people around him can join him playing together. Let's he walks alone, the other will follow him, and make sure he knows everyone is enjoyed being with him. A gesture that people keep him accompanied whenever he is satisfied alone or being alone, play the things he had on hand together.
The second thing is do not make autism people fat. Hahaha, though it is not the surrounding people is making autism fat, the autism himself might turning himself fat due to the non verbal effect.
Regarding the jumping spinning running constantly it is just a delaying effect, once he gets older we all can not see adult autism running around. Hahaha. The word 'delay' that learning something in a delay mode and capture everything so sensitive.
    Hope this helps. 👍

Could this not be describing any child, not necessarily one that is neuro divergent?!

    • @7Aheadfamily
      @7Aheadfamily  Před 7 měsíci

It depends. Autism and ADHD really depend on the frequency and duration of these signs. My example, lots of children spin jump and run around. That is neurotypical. But my autistic kids may jump for two hours every night. And Tun from one side of the room to the other many times a day and if I don’t redirect them they may do that for hours. I’m sorry if I didn’t mention that in the video. A lot of the behaviors are signs when they are overly intense to the point where the child cannot function. So it’s not just an anxiety that a child can set aside and ignore, but an anxiety that makes them throw up consistently or make it so they can’t function, without support. I hope this adds more clarification
