Apologies about Southern Alberta- it's in Canada, not the US. 💕
Forgiven. We all make mistakes. I think you are amazing putting your bloopers out there each video! Make us laugh and love you more.
That’s okay. Most Americans think Outback Steakhouse and bloomin onions when they think of Australia. We generally aren’t too smart.
@@rta3738 not many of us Americans know that Outback Steakhouse is based in .....Tampa, Florida :)
so glad you corrected that....I live in southern Alberta, and I gasped when I heard you say that !!
@@dianedejager9632 Sorry Diane. I was so annoyed with myself when I realised! Canada Louise Canada!!!!!!!!!! 🥴
Thank you so much for sharing ! So many of us can't afford classes and this information is precious and the delivery so relaxing and soothing! it's art therapy at it's best!
There is a certain romance to old discarded items just left to the devices of entropy. You captured it beautifully.
This is great - I've been wanting to attempt painting an old truck. I appreciate and love your style of teaching.
Thank you for explaining the highlight area and demo thank you again
Extraordinary.Super. Fantastic.
You always make it look so easy and uncomplicated. That is quite a talent you have. I aspire and admire your abilities. Thank you
Fantastic job Louise. In case you are not familiar with Richard Bolton, you might like to look up his paintings as he paints all things old and rustic. He has written several books including "Painting Weathered Textures in Watercolor".
Very informative and love the bloopers at the😊
Beautiful work. Thanks for the demonstration.
Only you could make an old pick up truck look so good!! Lovely video Louise and exciting to have new stairs- even if it means a bit of disturbance! Have a great weekend 😊💜
I love the end when your sneaking up to see what the carpenture is up to. Like a curious tot :)
YES! thank you, would look greath in my mancave/garage 👍
Woohoo! Super cool Louise!
I really like how you painting
This is wonderful. Thank you.
Excellent work Louise👍
Stunning work.
I am from Southern Alberta and chuckled when I heard what you said and then I really chuckled when I saw the steering wheel painted on the opposite side of where we are used to seeing it. Thank you for sharing your skills and abilities and bloopers. Makes you real. God bless!
I loved, thanks! From São Paulo - Brazil - Vitor
Oh Heck Yeah! AWESOME:)
First time🙄 my God... awesome
Love this truck Louise. Can’t wait ♥️♥️♥️
Beautiful work
I love this one. The shine of light and shadows.. Can you make video’s with shine glass / a city with sun and shadow / metal please. 🙏😘
such a lovely color palette..I will try that too. thank you.
You are a wonderful teacher. The way you explain and break down each step is delightful. Thank you.
I love the outtakes’. I’m looking forward to the full tutorial!
Keep on trukin' Louise.
Had to make this un short. Goin in for a surgical procedure at eleven am. It is almost seven thirty now. See ya. I hope.
This is so helpful, and I appreciate how thorough you are in explaining things. You are an amazing teacher! Thank-you so much for what you bring to this world.
Love this old truck, it reminds me of a coloured pencil drawing my Father did many, many years ago. It made me feel quite nostalgic. A talent lost, and never used sadly. Love the colours you used Louise. Love the painting!
This is a wonderful video. Thank you Louise. It is very helpful for me to see the studies that you are doing, allowing yourself to find your way in this unfamiliar object painting. Thanks to the trials you are sharing I am teaching myself to try out my stuff with less judgment. Thank you very much!!
Thank u so much for sharing your tremendous skills , god bless
I loved this. What a fun change. One little correction - Alberta is in Canada not the US!
came out nice
Lovely house!
I love the full commentary Louise with all your thinking. See you on Patreon for the truck. :D
You are so talented! I love you painting!
Amazing!!!!
Brava 😊
It’s marvelous!
Stunning💖 Absolutely stunning💗
Wow 👌
Wonderful! This is so charming.
Can't wait for complete tut! Will paint it for my brother.
this is amazing
Nice!
Thanks Louise. You’re a great teacher.
Amazing work
Beautiful.. awsome
Lovely. It's nice to see something different now and then.
Thank you for the video
I love it Louise ! It's so different but brilliantly executed Thank you for sharing
Beautiful Louise. I can't wait to paint this from your Patreon index. I'm glad to see that you are expanding your horizons.
Stunning!!!!! You are just the best teacher!
As usual wow art work
Please share a watercolour painting on hibiscus flower with stem buds and leaves
Thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial Louise. For whatever reason there are a lot of vehicles left in farmers fields with all sorts of choices of autos… trucks, cars, ambulances etc. I love your choice of picture and painting. Indeed southern Alberta is in Canada but more south than this picture location , Alberta does border on the United States.
I enjoy your instructions and the bloopers are so funny.
Cannot wait for it to come out in Patreon
I really love the way you told about the details.. it's a wonderful tutorial 👍🏽
learned some great wet on wet blending ways to try. You gave me confidence to move forward in my painting. Thank you
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the video. BTW, I love the bloopers, and the background noise wasn't as loud on the video as it probably was on the spot.
I love this. The way you blend your colours is fabulous. I hope one day my blending will reach your standard. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and the outtakes 😊
Thanks for showing the reasoning behind the grapes / wheel arch. If the car had been new and shiny, rather than dull and dusty, we'd need hard edges to give the illusion of a shiny surface.
P.S. Loved the subject, your friend took a wonderful photo
Great point! Thank you Gillian. Yes she did!
This is great, and thanks for explaining it so well!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Patty.
Wonderful video and painting, Louise! Your style is so inspiring. And your outtakes are the absolute best!! 💕👍🏼😂
Bravo! Thank you for the detailed explanation of how you used layers and wet-on-wet. Also, your color combinations. Beautifully done.
Hii Artist
Making a good artwork requires a lot of patience, hard work and time. That is when a beautiful artwork is prepared. Greetings to your artwork. You are different from everyone else. Because you are an artist. Who was born to create beautiful things.🌹
Thank you so much. 😀
Wow....your explanation about that highlight ... separately is superb and very useful🙏
Haven't watched to the end yet, I want to take the time to study this properly. That lorry is just gorgeous 😃 Thanks once again Louise, Arches is a lovely paper, made here in France.
Excellent 👌👌👌👌👌
Such a beautiful painting ❤❤
Thank you very much!
Wow!! I wish you made more of this video’s. This one is so beautiful. Hope there are coming more images like this. Everyone makes animals and flowers…I’m a little tiered of it 🤭😉
Beautiful painting. Thank you for this Louise . . . (but Southern Alberta is actually Canada not US) 🥸
I like how the steering wheel was painted on the right side too. 😄 I guess that is artistic license. Beautiful painting and that’s the important part.
Pretty darn close to USA, but definitely flying the Maple Leaf. We love our Northern Neighbors...and our Louise :)
Ok so I was not the only one hearing “Alberta” in the US.. ouch. For a Canadian living in US that hurts, but heck I have no Clue what the names of the states are in OZ except for New South Wales and Queensland... ? Perhaps... definitely all forgiven Louise. I still keep needing to check where the heck Idaho is...🤣🤣. Love this subject!!! Very brave.. and so inspiring. I have always wanted to try this. So lucky to have you breaking the eggs for us.
@@alisonhendry2928 Three of the other states are the easiest to remember because they’ve got north, south and west in the names (Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia) 😆…and Victoria is the same as the capital of BC. Everyone forgets about little Tasmania at the bottom but think Looney Tunes ‘Tasmanian Devil’ 🌪
Thanks Cathy. Diane told me yesterday I got it wrong......darn- I was annoyed with myself. Sorry. 💕
Lol, you are sooooo hilarious with those bloopers at the end. You always make me laugh out loud! 🤣
But, I just want you to know, you teach me something new in every video you share and I so appreciated you sharing your talent with us and being so kind in teaching it to us. You’re the best! Thanks again!!!!!!!!!😊
You're very kind. Thank you Sher. 💕
Thank you so much, Louise, for showing us your beautiful painting and for your exceptional teaching.
My pleasure. Thank you Lynne. 😊
How do you "sort out" the colors you use? Not just with this truck, which is stunning by the way,but with all of your paintings-how do you determine your palette? Love your work.
I really like this! Hard to believe you haven’t painted similar subjects. I’m inspired now to redo (third time) my 1971 VW Beetle. Third time is supposed to be the charm🙄. My son’s Jeep will be next. I am always looking for different subjects as I get into a painting rut too often. Thank you for your great technique explanations.
👌👌👌😍
As always a stellar job on this pickup! Your color choices and blending fit perfectly with the theme. It did however appear that that front tire had no “width.”
Alberta is actually in Canada
I would like to thank you for your videos. Your talent seem to be unending and I've picked up many great tips from this video alone. Your videos are well edited with great narration.
Thanks Again ,
BTW I'm from southern Alberta and not offended in the least.....Your from New Zealand right.😉
Nice work, I have painted lots of old rusty trucks and cars on cheap cellulose paper. If I could give advise to beginners it's USE GOOD paper, 100 %cotton does make a difference. 😀
Oh I love this painting and the instrustions provided throughout!! I was wondering what type brushes you use and also was wondering how you make your videos?
Hi Louise De Masi Thanks for sharing your wonderful art process . Nice color palette and rustic effect. How do you sketch for these paintings, direct sketching on sheet freehand or in any other mode ..
Oh Louise, I love your videos and your outtakes and I have learned so much from you! Can you tell me if you freehanded the truck or did you trace it?
A true thing of beauty. Enough about me....LOL Just kidding. These old trucks left beside barn are a photographers dream. Even when they are in Canada. Just an Observation, Alberta is right on the Canada US border. But the true thing of beauty is indeed your work here. I've been looking, and looking, wondering whether a blurry background would finish the image. But no, you got it right. As usual, I'm impressed. Well done Louise.
Thank you Graham. I was just talking to Diane and she told me it was taken in Canada. Sorry for the error.
@@LouiseDeMasi Hey now. There's ne need the be sorry about a little mistake. That's what makes us human. For all that you bring to us, surely you are aloud to make a mistake. Thank you for getting back.
Hi Louise, thank you for sharing. You are an excellent instructor. Could you tell us what kind of brushes you use? Thanks again, Phil from Ohio
Will you have a full length tutorial for this for Patreon members? Thanks, Louise!
Thank you for the excellent video. I think the transparency you achieve is exquisite. Just a quick note but Alberta is in western Canada. Sorry for the correction and thank you again.
Thank you! Yes Diane told me yesterday- silly me. Sorry for the error.
Which brand of watercolors do you use ?? Or which one is the best you suggest ??
I love it! I have been wanting to paint an old truck like this and I don’t know how! I checked your Patreon account and it’s not on there yet. Will you be posting it on there? I am a member. Thank you! ❤️
Yes next month. Thank you!
😍🥰🤩🤔
Louise, looking to rejoin your Patreon in October. Is the full tutorial for this one available (with sketch) on your Patreon?
Hi Barbara. I'm still working on it. It should be on there next month sometime. Thanks!
I love this truck and the painting you did of it. A favorite of mine. I have a question Louise--, why do you put a layer of light color where you will need to put a layer or two of dark? Like on the front of the truck. Why not just put the dark first? Cheers!👩🏻🎨🙂
Thanks very much Sue. I always paint the lightest tonal values first until I reach my darkest tone. If I jump from one tonal value to another I end up with problems. I build up the tonal values slowly because if I start too dark I end up with nowhere to go. Also dark colours will lift if you paint over them. I don’t know how dark I want to go until I am almost at the end of the painting. I compare an area with the area that surrounds it and I ask myself if I need to go darker in that area or not. If I do, it gets another layer of paint. It’s a gradual process that requires patience.
@@LouiseDeMasi thanks for explaining that to me. Very helpful.🙂
What colors do you use for the chrome parts
I see you used a size 6 brush (?) throughout. Do you ever use daggers or other specialty brushes?
No rarely. I have some but they sit in my brush container unused.
Why did you choose the violet?
How to draw the truck first before painting?
Where do i find your templates.,,or do i draw the item i am to trying paint?
Hi Bj- The line drawings are available for my patrons on my Patreon site. The full length tutorial of this painting will be on Patreon next month.
Thank you for your quick reply!
