I want to play valheim but it's not letting me when I open the game the fps is way low can hardly move th mouse and getting past the menu is impossible. Love undervolting! Undervolted my work laptop by -110mv and now the fan barely kicks up to annoy me :D Thanks for showing this! Just gotta wait for my GPD Winmax now... I think every laptop I've undervolted can do around -75mv on the main CPU, so it's always worth looking at. Especially if you game on it :) Less voltage = less heat, less battery use -> longer lifespan for both unit and battery (as you're doing less discharges of the battery)

Lowered that down to 15 watts and undervolted to -60mv on all 4 and got 63.1 fps on Unigine Heaven at low settings. Your guide helped a ton! Thanks so much for this!

You can set arbitrary TDP levels with this application and others. So if you're okay having it be a software solution, you can do the work to test a valid undervolt and a TDP that matches 15, 20, or 25 W at stock.

I'm gonna try to tweak each one individually to see if I can get any more, but so far it seems like GPD cherry picked a processor for your test unit as I don't think anyone else has achieved -100mv yet.
He definitely got the best one. I got pretty lucky, I got mine safely down to -85mv. Cinebench would crash at -90mv. Cinebench score went from 1571-1708.
There are several ways to do this, but across all devices you can always set your max speed of the CPU within the power settings of windows to 99% which basically disables turbo on intel CPU's. That lowers the performance, temperature, and power used. You will also be able to change the multiplier settings in the BIOS of the Win Max I am sure. I also think you can disable cores so you could for example run dual core rather than quad core. Phawx will most likely test this out if he hasn't already...

The GPD Max is not yet commercially available. The quickest way to get one is to back it on Indiegogo, they are still offering units there for $800 USD.
It’s pretty normal. They’re designed to run at the limit, like most laptop silicon does. Nothing to worry about unless you’re getting significantly more thermal throttling than most. Since that’d just mean you’re losing more performance than you should be.
U should also do CPU core and CPU cache stress tests since u undervolted those as well If u don't then u won't know if the CPU can keep up or not and ur system can blue screen anytime 😥
I tried this quickcpu. but maybe because now it's a newer version ? But I couldnt find the 2 textboxes to change the tdp. So I couldnt follow this guide :(
@@Vladiator after some testing seems like the tdp is locked in newer win max. Maybe thats why there is no way to change it in quickcpu of ours. U have to change the tdp in the bios. From what my skimming read got, seems like we have to downgrade the bios version if we want to unlock the tdp, but no way im gonna do that. U can use throttlestop to replace quickcpu. There is a guide for that too
I install msi afterburner in my win max but i cant see the option for see the cpu power, battime, etc, only i can see temperature fps etc, what option i need to actived ?? Anyone can help me ? Thanks
Well you see, resistance, on which the amount of heat generated, is equal to Voltage/Current, so by reducing the amount of voltage reduces the resistance in a circuit which results in less heat generated

On the Win 2 there's an app that was made by Intel called XTU which you should use , it just doesn't work on ice lake chips

Mine seems to be stable at VCore and GPU slice - 90mV. Other -75mV. Can I have not the same amount of undervolting for this options?

Do these changes save on reboot or do we need to setup every time?
These settings are software only, you have to make sure the program is running to make it happen.
