This guy would have lit it up in any era, especially this one without the red line and the clutching and grabbing.
did they remove the red line or something bro😂
@@altqq1755 2 line pass
I was at the Kings/Oilers game when he broke the points record. I was young and didn’t understand the meaning of it. I was so annoyed by how many Oiler fans were cheering each point he got.
He's the top goalscorer, yet if he never scored 1 he'd still have more points than any other player. That's what made him the great one. Thanks for making me love this great game. Happy birthday. 😊
@Fi Che - yet he has the most primary assists of any player as well. And shooting for a rebound to create a goal is just as important as any other goal.
One of his 200 point seasons, 2000th point, 51 game scoring streak, 1st cup, etc. Gretzky’s #1 career moment was a missed high stick followed by an OT goal? Granted, it was the playoffs but certainly not his #1 NHL career moment. It set up one (your #5 selection). This must be from the “Leaf Nation” point of view.
really enjoyed this video. the 80's and 90's memories of gretzky came flooding back. 🏒
People can argue if he is or isnt the Greatest player of All Time, but people cannot argue that he is the most talented player of all time
Umm yes people absolutely can argue if he is or isnt the most talented player of all time
@@aslakhanhisuanto3694 He was 143 points away from 3000 career points and 6 goals away from 900 career goals, *no one* was, is nor will ever be more talented then Gretzky.
@@LETZGONHLdraft Mario Lemieux or Bobby Orr are in arguably range, neither stayed healthy like Gretzky did.
All are absolute Legends! 🙂
@@shakenbacon3655 no one has a better points per Games Played then Gretzky. Gretzky almost had a 2 points per game average his entire career.
Different eras, better skilled players throughout the league and much better goaltending today; it was a lot easier to score points back then. Gretzky was ahead of his time and the best of his time and nothing but respect to him for his achievements, but the league’s best players now are more skilled.
Wow he's gonna have a great career
captain america is that you?
he is retired stupid
@@matteusjeskanen8407 look up the word "irony"
As a Leafs fan...ouch! Especially that last one.
Still, he is the GREATEST ever!
Happy birthday to hockey legend himself.
So cool!
The undisputed GOAT! There is no contest here.
Yes there is.
OVI might be the greatest Goal Scorer of all time !
He need only 3 good season.
OVI. not need McSorley type bodyguard to protect him.
So, you say “no contest “ ..
I say yes, there be a CONTEST.
I have right to opinion and you have right to silly opinion also.
We must agree to disagree.

G.o.a.t!!!!!
couple of solid assist from Mcsorley there....

Happy Birthday, Wayne!
I'm glad I got to watch him in real time.
I saw him play soccer in Brantford on a field outside of a private gym. He very good soccer player.
I used to in Brantford live. I see Walter often as he go Mail hockey stick to charity, I lived near Post Office on Queen Street. Walter gave me money for a coffee once. I lost my job and my house by gamble. Now Wayne is pusher.
He not the same as Walter. Walter ask me once how i do.
I say I used to be Problem Drinker
but today [I indicate Hooch in brown paper bag],
I have drink so no problem.
Walter laugh. I offer him swig of Hooch, he accept and say thank you.
Walter -good guy--he now dead.
Never see Wayne much around a Brantford just here and there long time.
Except he have Classic Charity [baseball or Tennis depend the year], and he bring celebrities--very thin TV Actress because TV add 10 pound and others.
He friend John Candy § RIP § was the ONLY Celebrity I met who
BE larger in person than on screen.
He very BBBBBIIIIIGGGGG. man. ahe wander through crowd and say high.
His last movie was Wagons Eastward ! ! ! It funny movie. I know a John Stunt Double. He name is Layton M€£¥§£N from Hamilton. He same size as John Candy. He wrestle in bar--“ Blue Beard “. He make good money as stunt double and as wrestler in OWF - Ontario Wrestling Federation. People ask how you not get hurt during stunt.
He say who says you don’t get hurt. [ha ha joke sort of].
But I diverge because of Hooch.
It be not goood that Wayne use fame and fortune to be PUSHER.
I hope he repent and give a little money to charity ( me).
I start to run short of Hooch because I gamble too much.
I have to gather buts , break apart and re- roll for cigarette.
Now Wayne, he PUSHER.
MAYBE I bet on Gretzky son-in-law for next golf and
recoup my losses.
Gambling is fun but hard to make a living at.
I Dumpster Dive for a living. It is more pleasant than you think.
You have to know backside of Derringer’S and where high end restaurant are. Also free stuff in dumpster behind Canadian Tire.
Must be careful not fall asleep in cardboard dumpster because you can get crushed.
Best to go to Alleyway with all weather sleeping bag nice old lady give me.
I sad that Wayne a Pusher now.
He used to be nice guy.
Anyway, please give generously when see me--tax receipt issued upon request.
Have a HONEY Crueller on me because sometimes my charity go to You.
[ I offer hootch to all[when I have .]]
Please ask Wayne to stop push gamble.
Give him some Hootch , then he have ‘no problem’.
Yea Hootch, Hootch, Yea Hootch.
I’ll see you in Brantford or in Hamilton Downtown ! ! !
Stay hydrated and hippy and toast tithe Skye.
Goat and its not even close
It’s crazy to think, that back in the days 100 points wasn’t even enough to make 10 top ten in points
Goalies had smaller equipment and used a stand-up style of goal-tending instead of the butterfly stance. The 1980's was like the wild west.
Top 10 scorers, 1987:
1. Wayne Gretzky: 183
2. Jari Kurri: 108
3. Mario Lemieux: 107
4. Mark Messier: 107
5. Doug Gilmour: 105
6. Dino Ciccarelli: 103
7. Dale Hawerchuk: 100
8. Michel Goulet: 96
9. Ray Bourque: 95
10. Tim Kerr: 95
@@michaelgriffiths8068 Lemieux was my favorite player, only played 63 games that year on a crappy team. Tim Kerr with 95, WOW!
@@rockandrollmd541 - yes, 66 & 99 were on another level. Above and beyond the rest of the league. Gretzky won the scoring title by 75 points lol ...and beat Tim Kerr by almost the same number of points as Kerr himself scored (and who still finished in the top 10 haha).
Happy birthday Gretzky!!!
Oh yea
His number 1 moment was definitely not that overtime goal against the leafs. That's a joke right? Like how dumb or ignorant would somebody have to be to think that was his number 1 moment ever in his NHL career???? How about winning the Stanley Cup???!!! Lol.
the whole list would just be cup wins headass. these are plays
@@altqq1755 it says career moments ... I’m sure Wayne would say his best moment was beating the Leafs in a Game 6 of a conference finals in a year he didn’t even win the cup 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Sportnet is a bunch of Toronto Homers. That’s what happens when you are part owners of the Team. If it doesn’t involve the Leafs is some way, they don’t care.
Happy Birthday Wayne Gretzky! 60!
Beating the Leafs in the Playoffs is not that great or rare of a moment.....sportnet just got to include their favorite team everytime.
Wayne isThe Great!
Its like he was psychic or something. He knew exactly where the puck was going to be.
Wayne Gretzky Is The Greatest Player Of All Time
I'm all Wayne-d out
4 out of 5 are with L.A.? What about the overtime goal against Calgary where hit hit the top corner of the net over Vernon's left shoulder? The greatest goal I ever saw...
He got hit less times in his career than most guys do in 1 game.
Sincerely, A hockey player who kows.
Good video. Some really special moments. Not sure about the last one (Gilmore High Stick/OT goal) I think they could have found a better one than that. Maybe getting the most points in a single season or most goals in a single season.
Shouldn't even be on the list. Clearly a Gretzky hater to say ''his greatest moment is when he cheated on my Leafs''
Yes, the Leaf bias was strong on this video lol. Gretzky always says his most memorable moment was his first Stanley Cup. I would also suggest winning the 1987 Canada Cup and passing to Mario for the winner in the dying minutes.
LOL! I love how two of the top 5 Gretzky moments have to do with the semi-finals series in 1993 against the Leafs, yet none of the four times he actually won the cup was not one of his top 5 moments. Can't tell at all this was put together by a Maple Leaf fan.
why would a leafs fan want to emphasize those things? lmao
@@HG-bp4im Cause they hate Gretzky. So they put the time he got away with cheating as his #1 moment.
May 29th, 1993... aka- the last day I ever cried
Omg the man won 4 Stanley cups and his greatest moments 2 are against the leafs do some research give me a break that is his greatest moment come on
Tired of having Toronto shoved down your throat!? Well here try some more TORONTO!! 😆
‘84 Cup should be #1.
That time Roy spun around him while out of his net.
just think if they added Canada cup moments!
Wayne gritzky 98 😂😂
Sry, these are just not a good choice for career moments of #99 -
I think the great one should have had a top 60 plays because it’s his 60th birthday
Wayne is the hockey's Pele!
- More like Baseball’s Pete Rose.
Really that is number one, you Toronto people need to get over that.
This guy is pretty good ig
should've added his highstick in game 6
isnt that the one thats at #1?
Should've watched the video to the end :)
@@ripapa6355 yup

Would've lost in game 7 or get swept by the Habs. Get over it, LA Kings went to the Stanley Cup finals, Montreal won the cup. It happened, deal with it.
How was that the #1 moment? Does everything have to always be Leafs centric? Wouldn't have even made the list for me.
Kind of a weird choice for number 1 to me.
It's sportsnet, I'm surprised the #1 only named one leaf player in the title
How was the #1? Who made this list?
hi

According to corwin from bar down, Gretzky isn’t the greatest because he allegedly “couldn’t raise the puck”. He’s right. I think loui eriksson is far superior because he raises the puck at morning skate.
What a flawed list. #1 is a high stick on Gilmour? Gimme a break.
Perhaps include one of his 4 Stanley Cups!
How about the '88 overtime winner eliminating Calgary?
it's Sportsnet, of course they had to be salty about the high stick. Toronto fan boys.
He never high-sticked Gilmour.....
Gilmour bit-his own lip😆
Через 3-4 года, будет номер 2:)
I absolutely hated him back in the day when my team, the Flyers (I know lol) would play the Oilers. But he IS the best ever, he was amazing.
This list was made by a salty leafs fan. The high stick and the OT goal the greatest Gretzky moment? really? Over winning his 1st cup? Over his 5 goals game for 50 goals in 39 games? That's ridiculous. Btw, Habs would've swept Toronto anyways. Stay salty Toronto. #1967
What’s the difference between a goal and a score? Never played or watched hockey lol
It depends on where you are and whom you with as you drink wine and watch hockey game.
@@rbrb3625 ???
And where are Jari Kurri..
Haha, Leafs part of two of Gretzky's to 5 moments in his career? I don't think so, 93 playoffs were pretty minor overall considering what he done.
Exactly right. His first Cup and winning the 1987 Canada Cup (passing to Mario in the dying minute to beat Russia) are always in his top picks.
Really Sportsnet? You have some hat trick that no one even cares about but you don't have his first cup win? Really?
Гретцки-это легенда мирового хоккея,как Харламов
Imagine being such a maple leaf jock sniffer that you would insult the greatest player (and arguably the greatest ambassador) the game has ever known by claiming the greatest moment of his storied career was an accidental high stick in a playoff game.
It happened nearly THIRTY years ago, leafs media and fans. Get over it already.
@isthatyoubetha Indeed. The hockey universe sits upon Leaf losses in conference final games from 1993.
I'm so sure that one of Gretzky's greatest career moments would be some garbage hat trick against the leafs and not his first Stanley Cup 😆
This, this is why everyone outside of Toronto hates the leafs.
all of gretzky's feats happened 30/40 years ago... should we forget those too?
@@HG-bp4imNo! Maybe we should put them in a video and call it "top 5 Wayne Gretzky career moments."
@isthatyoubetha You're insane. Montreal invented the sport. 24 cups. There's no argument, you're delusional.
Top 5, lol...so the yanks/ kings ..made this?! 🤦♂️🍑
I see your an oilers fan but other than cups he had success other places too.
@@reehanshahparast8315 yes he did, but nothing like when he was with the Oilers, where he actually broke 99% of the record book
Of course they had to pander to the Leafs...
по сравнению с сегодня , игра Гретски смотрится как молодёжная и не опытная.
first
no i was
lol
Gambler was PROTECTED by the league to manipulate the stupid as a SUPER STAR. My opinion
I respect your well thought out opinion !
Total BS. Won 4 cups with Oilers and it’s a bunch of Kings highlights.
This guy is not better athlete than Lionel Messi
All tap in garbage goals. Man this guy is over rated! lmao
Most over rated athlete in history
Yes, 21 scoring titles in 20 seasons (including playoffs and Canada Cups/World Championships). 9 Hart Trophies in first 10 years. 17 MVPs in total including playoffs and tournaments and all star games. And 61 official records. Truly overrated.
