The Golf GTI of the eighth generation surprised us in a good way. It's still a very comfortable daily, which now also drives well thanks to the VAQ LSD, an exceptionally good engine and, finally, a stabilization that is possible to turn off completely. Even the chassis geometry and setup is much more fun than before and driving at the grip limit is well controllable.
The diesel GTD takes the technology of the petrol GTI and adds excellent economy. Even at a very dynamic pace, the consumption hardly exceeds 10 liters per 100 km. The rev range of the 2.0-liter TDI is dramatically better than ever before, and the power is sufficient for most roads. Compared to the petrol GTI, however, the chassis setup is too neutral and the GTD is less agile.
The biggest weak point is low traction without a proper LSD. It's a shame because otherwise the GTD could keep up with the more powerful GTI! - Sport
Is this cracking coming from the interior parts? :O
Das auto !
@@Kryorgin LMAO
Its the seats.
the golf 8 is glorified trash
@@Hinterhof-qx5ql I mean it's a golf lol
Vrže interiér nebo nějaká flaška? Vedení jinak top 🎉
Pěkná silnice, pěkná jízda. Jen to řazení je na prd, asi by tomu mnohem víc slušel manuál.
The cracking LMAOOOOOOOOO. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Stop laughing in caps lock, u ruined the funny
Check engine light at the end?
Honestly most new petrol turbo engines could just be diesels so what.
Its a baby chair boys 😊
is that constant creaking.. get a mk 7 gti, than this
Bro this GTI creaks more than my Kia Forte GT in winter time.
What the hell is that constant creaking.. Just buy a used low mileage mk 7.5 gti, this is a mess.
That VW quality for you...
@@sissyspaceship Not usually the case, but they really messed up with this generation.
@@sissyspaceship That's literally the opposite of VW quality.
I know, this literally creaks worse than my 2005 Toyota Yaris TS, that has an entirely plastic interior...
I think that this creak is from the seats, exactly from belt attachment same on the Nissan Qashqai, sometimes do sometimes not. Because seats rubbing there
It has a diff or just good tires?
You can hear the wheel spin at the slowest portion. Open diff is bad

Instant quality issues that are not acceptable - VW.
Great chassis, too bad the interior sucks in this generation.
It'll be better in the facelift coming out for 1 March (24 plate) registrations in UK.
@@da_great_mogul They haven't changed almost any part of it that sucks in the facelift.
I really do not understand why making a "sporty" diesel. Get a GTI, lighter, better sound, and at least you can go over 5k rpms
as a someone who always liked diesels for their good MPG and also liked cars that look good and are sporty I am glad they produce such a cars
Why make a sporty EV? Just get a gas car.
That's a stupid argument. It's a GTI with the advantages of a diesel is all.
It lacks a bit of power and a torsen
