  • As many of you were asking we decided to do a comparison video of the sporty Golf 8 GT models.....the GTD, the the GTE, and of course the GTI. Of course the result should be pretty clear but I think its still interesting how close GTD and GTE are in the end 100-200 and that the GTE still can keep up with the GTI up to 100 km/h. But please watch yourself and tell me your thoughts? Please make sure to also follow all our stuff about these cars on instagram! #GTI #GTE #GTD

    From someone who bought a Mk7.5 GTE after testing a GTI & GTD, the one thing a video will never show you is the feel of the electric torque working with the engine. Yes it's a little slower 0-60, but the E-boost on the engine just addictive. Makes the car feel so nippy and agile, but with the grunt to pull when it needs too (which I've found fully electric cars fall a little flat on)

    • @AvasilcaiAdrian

      Until the battery is depleted...so quite fast you're going to drive an overweighed Golf with a sluggish engine. Also, I wonder how does the full electric mode helps the engine (especially the turbo charger) to die faster, i.e. accelerating while the petrol engine is still cold (as far as I know there is no pre-heater install to have it ready at the optimal working temperature).

      A lot of people are not financially stable this period and it's not easy, I always advise people, don't just waste your stimulus checks or salary, invest it in something that will yield more, even if it is a part of it. We can't keep relying on a paycheck that is already half-spent before we even receive it, there are investment opportunities that have helped a lot of people especially in the financial market. Having different streams of income is essential in this pandemic, especially now most of us have to earn and work from home. I've made impressive progress so far this year and it has helped me sort out a lot of bills and I do that through a registered investment company. I have Passat with the same engine as in golf GTI. Performance is slightly worse because of bigger car. I would choose it again any day though! I also had the GTE option but didn’t took it for 3 reasons: 1. Price difference eats up the lifetime fuel savings, 2. Way smaller trunk because of batteries, 3. No experienced mechanics yet as this engine still seems to be an experiment.

    I had a Golf 2ltr diesel GT140. I had it remapped from 138bhp to 168bhp. It was a little rocket through the gears and was able to hit 140mph no problem. It was quite vicious in the wet though and would spin up the front wheels in 3rd gear on occasions. Had Michelin tyres on too, guess it had to do with the different gearing from the normal GTD. Eventually traded it in for an Audi 2ltr Quattro which I also had remapped and that didn’t spin any wheels and just took off. 😂

    • @azando3740
      @azando3740 Před 4 měsíci

      @@ImplantedMemories It is true that VW has discontinued TGI (CNG cars) technology since 2023 until further notice. The technology is absolutely mature and it is not true that the LPG filling station network is decreasing, it is currently still in existence. LPG is very widespread at 6700 gas stations. When it comes to CNG, there are currently around 700 filling stations in Germany, 98% of which are powered by biomethane. Some CNG filling stations have been closed, but new filling stations have emerged. And in Germany demand is still growing as many large truck fleets have switched to LNG. CNG and LNG, especially BioMethane, is a real alternative to electric cars/trucks because it is almost climate-neutral. The new government in 2025 will decide whether CNG technology will survive. Germany and Italy (1200 filling stations) currently have the largest CNG/LNG filling station network in Europe.

    • @ImplantedMemories
      @ImplantedMemories Před 4 měsíci

      @@azando3740 yes that's correct for the most part, but LPG, CNG and LNG won't be CO2 neutral. They all contain a lot of carbon. Personally I think, fossil powerd gas cars won't be the future. Most manufactures focus on Hybrids and Electric cars.

    • @azando3740
      @azando3740 Před 4 měsíci

      @@ImplantedMemories Then find out how biomethane is produced. This is a CO2 neutral cycle. Corporate agricultural waste made from cow or horse manure, hay, compost, sewage sludge, etc. contains a lot of renewable energy. Perfect for district heating and clean BioCNGs. And then look at the CO2 balance of electric cars. Exploitation and overexploitation of nature and natural resources, problems with the processing and recycling of batteries and then the hazardous waste and catastrophic air pollution in the event of a fire. Electric cars are not fully developed. And in Germany alone there are already 2.1 million electric cars if all the other 43 million are to switch to combustion engines... what do you think where the electricity should come from and what that will do to the environment? It therefore makes sense to have a good energy mix of very clean gas cars, gasoline cars, diesel and new electric cars and hydrogen.

    I think they've finally got the power matching right between the electric motor and the ICE, on the GTE!
    It would be interesting to know, that if (because the power figures are almost the same for the Mk7.5/7) the matching of the power was via a software upgrade and could this be applied to the lower Mark's?
    Also, have you done a timing for 0-100 for the GTE on electric only?

      A lot of people are not financially stable this period and it's not easy, I always advise people, don't just waste your stimulus checks or salary, invest it in something that will yield more, even if it is a part of it. We can't keep relying on a paycheck that is already half-spent before we even receive it, there are investment opportunities that have helped a lot of people especially in the financial market. Having different streams of income is essential in this pandemic, especially now most of us have to earn and work from home. I've made impressive progress so far this year and it has helped me sort out a lot of bills and I do that through a registered investment company. You can get in touch with the manager via Instagram (@richard_brucefx) he will guide you properly
