Awesome, your drumming is inspiring as always.
I can highly recommend using a ceiling mount for the monitors, really helpful for height-adjustment and saving floor space. Also gives the nice option to attach a GoPro with a clamp mount.
Duuuude thanks! And that's a killer idea! I've totally thought about it but never got passed figuring out how to do that with my suspended ceiling in the basement here. Maybe one day soon in an upgrade!

Hey Aaron, how do you have those monitors setup/mounted? I've been thinking about doing something like that.
FINALLY. I've been thinking about assembling a kit with this EXACT tom layout for MONTHS. But I wasn't sure it would work. But now that I've seen it action. Full steam ahead! Do you have any vids talking about this setup more? All your more vids seem to have the smallest tom in the middle like Mike Mangini, rather than in this quad layout.

@@RainMakeR_Workshop I'm not sure, actually! My CZcams uploads are pretty random. There's definitely more of it on Drumeo if you happen to be a Drumeo member. I've been doing weekly+ videos with them since 2012, so for sure there's a bunch on this setup in there :p
@@Snarea51 I looked through what's available on CZcams on your channel and Drumeo. But I can't find any other vids playing this layout, aside from one where you can't really see the toms. I'd love to see something heavier on this kit, something that has lots of tom work. As I'd love to see it in action more.
Every vid I can find has you on either a typical tom layout or your Mangini layout. But I'm really interested in this Marching Tenors style layout. Any chance you might post a vid here talking about it, showing how you use it and some of the benefits of it.
@@RainMakeR_Workshop Ahh yeah, that stuff would be in the members area, there's probably close to a thousand videos of mine in there.
As for doing another video on here with it, honestly it probably won't happen - at least not any time soon. Just because I don't have anything like it set up right now, and it's a giant job to remake one of those big kits.
This really is still the 'mangini' type setup, just rotated clockwise about 20 degrees :P

Sweet! But instead you should just play the drums to Rush-Red Barchetta, if you haven't tried already. What you were doing, I hate to say it, was underwhelming. But that might be due to my standards being set high.
Cool! I haven't heard that track before, the drum cover thing just isn't really me! This is my own band! Sorry you didn't dig my underwhelmingness, I'll bring out some of the 'holy shit' material next time! ;)
You should just play a tad more sparingly man I think thats all I was trying to suggest that I would want to hear. Maybe I'm not familiar with the style but usually the drums ease off a little during verses and give the singer more breathing room. That being said, I fuck me, right? You're an awesome instructor I have your tools of the trade video to thank for finally being able to grasp those drums parts and from one drummer to another I thank you for that brother! Was also highly surprised to find you are from Winnipeg! And here I was think Mitch Dorge or Brent Fitz were the best we had to offer !

Oh dude! I actually totally hear ya on that, our first two records we composed all the music instrumentally before vocals were even thought about! So in their original forms, the 'notey' playing actually worked super well. But I digress! We're halfway through album three so who knows what kinda turns that'll take! The writing style is a touch different too :)

These replies are all pretty on point! AAX Iso Crashes, custom sized Paragon Chinas, all the radia cup chimes, hhx omni ride, the 15 and 17 compression hats have fierce bottoms with rivets, and max splashes with custom holes!
