If you put this soundtrack on the intro to ep 7 (the Lower Decks crossover), you'd have a Ship of Theseus type version of the intro. The only thing that would be original would be Anson Mount's voiceover.
the fact they put so many TOS refrences like the original theme at the end and then the opening theme being similer. So Much Fan Service. that shows they did it for the Fans so you are Wrong End of story
TOS got an opera (ish) version of the intro, SNW gets an a cappella (ish) version. Love it!
