THE WORLD vs KING CRIMSON: A Theoretical Battle Analysis

    The World, King Crimson. What do these two stands have in common? Well they can both manipulate time, they both possess high physical stats, and they both belong to heavily egotistical users. The World allows Dio to wipe out his opposition in zero time while King Crimson gives Diavolo the power to control his own fate. With how similar in nature both stands are at times, they have often been forced to clash often within the Jojo community. However, I don’t think anyone has definitely figured out how a clash between these two rulers of time would truly go down. Would time stop halt Diavolo’s visions of the future or would Diavolo skip past Dio’s attempts to control the outcome of the battle? So I've taken it upon myself to analyze both their skills and abilities to truly see which can be truly considered the ultimate stand. The Stop vs Time Skip, which ability will truly come out on top?

    Diovolo basically exists outside of realitys influence during Time Erasure so it makes sense why Time stop wouldn’t affect him during TE’s activation.
    Personally, I think this explanation depends on if Time Stop effects is relative for dio only or if it’s absolute and affects the universe itself. If its relative to just dio then diovolo would be affected by TS even if he’s in time skip. If its absolute then that means the universe itself is stopping for 10 seconds. Meaning that anyone who can exist outside of the universes influence can escape time stop, which time erasure allows Diavolo to do.
    Man, this is actually messing with my head.

      This is false, and he already refuted that in the video itself as time is still flowing in Time Erasure something which Diavolo is clearly bound to. It also seems like you don’t know what it means to exist outside of time, and it’s be a form of acausality which means that the future wouldn’t matter for him but it clearly does since he needs Epitaph to know when to use time erasure and if this was the case GER’s RTZ wouldn’t matter because his actions wouldn’t be bound by time and GER wouldn’t be able to reverse his actions which he did.

      We also do have confirmation that time stop affects the universe as a whole as Jotaro when he stopped Made in Heaven didn’t just stop time near him he stopped the time acceleration which was affecting the entire universe.
      Also the way you phrased on how you think Time Erasure works might want to rewrite it unless you’re actually trying to say that Diavolo destroys the entire universe and puts it together after time erasure ends.

    All this depends if Time stop is relative to Dio only or if its effecting the universe itself. If its Relative then Diavolo can’t-skip it. If it affects the universe then Time Erasure would allow Diavolo to escape it for a time.

      Dio vs Diavolo is one of the most close fights ever in the whole jojo universe they are both extremely powerful but I would think the world is stronger

    I think Dio being a vampire plays a major role in it as well. Even if Diavolo activated his ability first, Dio could just regenerate from any of KC's attacks.

      @@fesmerosherkez5267 Maybe. Diavolo can be very crafty. But he would have to think to completely destroy Dio's brain, and I don't think the fight would go on long enough for him to figure it out. But I could be wrong.

      True. That’s the only useful weapon for Dio against Diavolo.
      TE makes TS nearly useful.
      Dio will win ONLY if Diavolo makes a mistake and Dio rely on the combination of TS and Vampire abilities. And even in this case Diavolo still has a chance to erase time before Dio’s sequence.

    I think if diavolo activated TE first , while Dio activated TS during TE , diavolo would basically witness Dio following the flow of fate until he suddenly teleports into a different spot and then continues his following of fate , TE works on time , not the duration in which Dio has stopped it's flow , basically the 10s of timestop wouldn't count in diavolo's TE .
    In 0 real seconds , Dio has the duration of 10s to do whatever he wants while diavolo escapes fate for 10 real seconds while also erasing the perception of those 10 real seconds for Dio .

      @@leandroandong7400I don't think it would be that helpful given how he'll only see himself getting killed, so he wouldn't have a large frame of Deta on Dio's timestop , like even if epitaph was actually capable of fully revealing what would exactly happen during the next 10s and not just the outcome of that 10s , he would still be confused witnessing Dio randomly teleporting, I don't think diavolo can win against Dio cuz he can easily discover diavolo's TE the moment he activate it cuz it's way more noticeable than TS and we know Dio is one of the smartest characters in the series so he would easily find a way to counter it + he's a vampire and can heal himself which means he could take hits from KC

      @@ricardomilos3872 Diavolo will have a hard time killing Dio because of his vampiric abilities but with his deadly chop, he can give a good fight, he will just skip his death and phase to dio attack the moment he see it.
      the reason why Diavolo is the most potent in Jojo, is because his KC is not just time erasure, it also allows him to exemplify himself in fated action and avoid the 10 sec of unfavorable fate the same way he did with Rissoto and also use this as advantage to skip the process if what he see in epitaph is favorable towards him like impaling Narancia or getting Trish.
      And don't underestimate his Intellect, cause he is the first to figure out the weakness of Silver Chariot requiem which is mind boggling for me when it appeared.
      So the battle between who can win between Dio and Diavolo is a battle of who can activate first. like a battle between Meg and Mosasaurus(who can chomp first).
      and If the question is who has the best temporal stand ability, it will be King Crimson, this ability legit deny any attack you did to him by removing himself to causation/time/fate for a fraction of sec. Which is why the protagonist(Giorno) evolved his stand into not just an ability but a condition which is to revert any fated action even intent into Zero.
      If any protagonist has this KC ability, legit itcan solve 80% of their problems which revolve around fate.

    Taking these abilities at face value, whoever wins this matchup is merely whoever acts second for one simple reason:
    Cooldowns.
    They both have one, even if it’s only short. That means, for example, if Diavolo erases time, and DIO waits to stop time until the exact moment his foe disappears from sight, he will catch Diavolo in his cooldown period, and the latter won’t be able to do anything, no matter that he can see it coming with Epitaph.
    The inverse is also true, of course. Basically, it’s just a matter of whoever first considers the idea of letting the other “blink first” and subsequently make themselves vulnerable.
    Also worth noting: Epitaph is an active ability, not passive, so Diavolo is very much vulnerable to this strategy if he erroneously assumes his attack will be a kill without looking further forward, as evidenced by Polnareff being able to hit him in the moment after TE ends. In exactly that same way, DIO could catch him with TS.
    Honestly, also given his ability to survive kill shots via vamp durability, yeah, DIO is going to win most variants of this matchup unless Diavolo gets lucky.

      Diavolo is significantly slower than DIO, his time erase would be ineffective. Simplification = Star Platinum (?) The World> Anubis Chariot > Diavolo >= Silver Chariot. Diavolo just barely avoided Silver Chariot's timed attack, which also brings into question Diavolo's speed. If he really was that much faster, Silver CHariot would have never hit him. Theres also Diavolo himself admitting that he would have been "Gravely Injured", interpret that as you will.

      @@kujoova Silver chariot is close to as fast as SP, it's just not as strong or durable. Diavolo avoided an attack he wasn't expecting, but Polnareff didn't know where he would appear, hence the wide swing. Polnareff was able to catch Dio in a similar fashion, who wasn't able to dodge. The stands have the same listed speed after all.

      Little reminder that the first time we saw KC's abilities (Elevator scene), we seen that Diavolo could activate it consecutively enough for him to break the ceiling, chop Trish's hand and get out of there without Bucciaratti even noticing.
      And take in mind he can't interact with people or objects while using Time Erasure, so it's proven he needed to deactivate it for those two "breaking" actions and activate it again in a few miliseconds between them to make Bucciaratti not realize what happened until he already took Trish

      ​@@CisnePelado OH the elevator scene is far more broken than it sounds, because it's right in that interaction that we get to one of the more busted uses of KC. All of those actions? Those were a _SINGLE_ time skip, not several. You may ask "how", but it's actually quite terrifyingly simple. It's the same way he killed Narancia without anyone having a single chance to react.
      The reality is that KC's fate power also accounts for any actions he would have committed to even if he never skipped time. What this means is that if KC skips a segment of time in which he would have punched a hole in your chest regardless, that fate _still happens_ even without him there to commit it.
      Because of this, he was able to steal Trish, clean the hotel room and kill Narancia unseen in all three cases, because the fate where he stayed to actually perform those actions personally still occurs, and Diavolo gets to watch the predetermined actions occur from outside them all the while, suffering none of the potential pitfalls of actually being there. It means he could preemptively commit to a future where he lethally injured someone at the cost of a similar injury, but he steps outside of the period of time and avoids the injury he would have taken. Meanwhile, his enemy is still donuted with no possible chance to alter course in the exchange.
      It's hilariously broken, because what this means is that KC actually _CAN_ attack you while in TS, just as long as the attack would have succeeded even if her didn't activate the ability. Worse still though, based on the elevator and Narancia death scenes, there may even be the implication that his skipped time can lock others into a future where he never acted at all, thus leaving them unmoved. Like with Bruno, who should reasonably have moved to defend in a future where Diavolo stepped into the elevator, chopped off Trish's hand and left, but Bruno wasn't even able to react until the TS ended. Similarly, Narancia's death is accompanied by all his allies not having moved to defend him in the erased time period.
      It's quite sinister. And honestly? In hindsight, having considered this long after my initial comment, I would say this additional x-factor gives Diavolo a much greater chance of victory in this theoretical DIO matchup. Because a factor like this means Diavolo doesn't actually labor under the disadvantage of not being able to simultaneously attack and defend the way DIO's Time Stop allows him to.

    Imagine time as a straight line constantly moving forward, different points in time are the events that take place.
    In the case of TE (Time Erasure), the flow of time does not stop, it continues moving.
    From everyone's POV, they spontaneously moved forward in the timeline. (Illusion, they simply were in a state of unconsciousness during TE)
    From Diavolo's POV, there is no change in the flow of time.
    In the case of TS (Time Stop), time moves forward normally, at a certain point however, a myriad of events took place in a very minuscule amount of time.
    Both TS and TE result in causality being warped for everyone else's POV.
    TE: Time Flow continues normally, everyone except for Diavolo however enters a trance-like state and cannot remember anything that occured. During this they're puppeteered by fate itself as well, resulting in a loss of causality from their perspective
    TS: Time flow continues normally, DIO however concludes a myriad of actions that exist outside of the time-flow. The effects of these actions however show after TS, resulting in a loss of causality for everyone else.
    In both cases the effects of DIO's actions (for TS) or Fate's actions (for TE) occur, the causes being only known by DIO or Diavolo respectively.
    If DIO stops time before TE, time will stop as usual, DIO will do whatever he wants and after TS has ended, Diavolo will be able to erase time.
    If Diavolo erases time before TS, time will be erased as usual, but a break in casuality will occur out of nowhere (a knife will pop up out of thin air, DIO will have teleported somewhere else, someone may have died) and then TE will continue before ending. From DIO's POV he never saw stopped time. Everything he would've done in stopped time happened in a fraction of a second as seen by Diavolo, but it was skipped by TE for everyone else (including DIO).
    Diavolo cannot get trapped in TS if he erased time prior, as TS would have started and ended before TE finished.
    In a battle between them. DIO would win easily if he stopped time prior to Diavolo erasing time, as he would've just killed him during TS.
    If Diavolo however erased time firstly, he would be confused as to why DIO suddenly teleported during TE, and TE ends he'd go for the hit.
    Assuming DIO still has his vampiric abilities, Diavolo's impale wouldn't do much so it might have to be followed up by more attacks.
    Diavolo has a winning chance if he knows how TS works, he can use epitaph to see any breaks in causality, and then erase time right before the break happens, rendering TS useless

      I agree with u 100%, diavolo definitely has the upper hand since he has got epitaph in his possession, seeing through any attack (after ts, or not) and skipping past it, while also gaining an advantageous position during that erased time

      Actually there is a slight problem with erasing time right before time is stopped.
      TE will also erase the recharge period of TS.
      Meaning that since right before TE Deo was intending to use TS, as soon as TE ends Deo would still use TS. From Deo's perspective it would appear as if he was teleported as soon as he used TS.
      Diavolo's best chance would be to use TE a few seconds before Deo uses TS. Deo wouldn't have intended to use TS yet so when TE is over Deo wouldn't insta pop TS. However Deo would still have the advantage even here. He has high durability and took several direct hits from star platinum and only head damage would kill him. So chances are Deo notices the sudden hole through his chest and stops time a second or 2 after he gets hurt. Diavolo since he just used TE would not have a way of evading Deo's TS attacks and would die.

    time stop and time erasure interaction wasn't really explained properly. if Kc activated time erasure first and then Dio stopped time, for Diavolo, Dio would just teleport. he wouldn't be frozen, that doesn't make sense. like you've said, everything that Dio does in stopped time is outside of the flow of time, therefor Diavolo wouldn't be able to see inside of the time stop during time erasure so he would just see Dio teleport from one place to another and since Diavolo is intangible during time erasure it doesn't matter what Dio will do during stopped time, all the damage would be negated.
    yeah it's a bit confusing but I hope this makes sense.

      We have to remember that the reason why Diavolo is intangible and invincible to attacks in erased time is due to the events being erased.
      And just like the video and you have said, the events of stopped time won't be erased, so therefore Diavolo is no longer intangible during it, so DIO can just kill him

      @@Leig5H0T It doesn't make sense for Diavolo to allow everyone's perception of time be erased, while also being intangible, without explaining that he's erasing those events literally.
      He can't just have an ability to make himself INTANGIBLE while also erasing everyone's consciousness for ten seconds, while it is literally stated in Araki's narrative, that his ability is to Erase literal time. Yes the ability is inconsistent throughout the series, but if the author intended the ability to be erasing literal time, then it is.
      Explanation: By continuously erasing segments of literal time, the events that occur within that erased time ceases to be physically tangible, which is why Diavolo is "intangible" during it.
      And because the entire reason why Diavolo can't be harmed by anything in erased time is because they are erased, that means what occurs inside an event like Stopped time, which literally occurs outside of time (while it is not flowing), there's is no way for King crimson to erase the TIME of it, therefore Diavolo is vulnerable in it.

      @@susboi7013 what happens in stopped time does not occur outside of time, it occurs in an instant(ce) of time and the actions would exist on a timeline, just in the same spot. there'd literally have to be an instance on a timeline where diavolo is harmed by the actions that occured in timestop, and it'd be erasable

      @@Leig5H0T If you assume that the events in frozen time would be erased along with the time paused, that would be assuming that the events in stopped time occured simultaneously with the paused time. But that is wrong because the timestopper stops time, then performs actions during it. It appears to be an instant to all others because time was paused for them, but in reality
      1. Time pauses
      2. The timestopper performs actions while time is not resuming
      3.Time resumes
      They aren't actually one instant occurrence. Erasing time would only erase up to the time frame in which time stops, and the actions that occur while time is paused cimes after, and won't be erased, for the time erasing ability can't erase actions that don't occur along with the flow of time.

    Interesting, its fun to see how people interpret how these two abilities would interact with each other. Would Time stop interrupt time skip? Would it make activating time erasure to a specific point impossible? Or would it simply make it so Diavolo can’t see dio’s future actions? Would time erasure letting diavolo escape fate mean he’s immune to time stop as long as it’s active? Like some other commenters said, it really depends on if time stop is relative to dio or if it affects the universe
    Only the author can really answer these questions tbh.

    I think this is a very good analysis of the battle. Diavolo has next to no chance to win thanks to the superiority of Time Stop and how it grows, plus how predictable he is. Also something important to mention is that Diavolo as a character is so cocky he literally tells his opponents how King Crimson works so DIO would have no trouble figuring out his power lol. At least DIO keeps his mouth shut about The World’s power lol.

      Diavolo can win due to the crazy broken ability of time erase and how trippy and confusing it is and being a great defensive ability and also epitaph makes the combo more dangerous
      DIO wins 7/10 times due to being a vampire but human timestopper like Diego VS Diavolo is going to be 50:50

    There's no way for King Crimson to skip "into" The World's time stop, since a time stop of any "length" would automatically be skipped by King Crimson's ability. Whether or not DIO would appear to "freeze" in erased time, or simply "skip" around himself along with whatever objects he's interacted with during "stopped time", is anybody's guess. The World's time stop only takes place in a fraction of a moment in time, which King Crimson would easily skip over due to its ability to "erase" up to 10 seconds of time. Because of Epitaph's ability to predict up to 10 seconds in the future, King Crimson would always activate its ability before The World.

      That was exactly what I was thinking like it that it would come down to the fact that when time stop activates, any actions taken within Time Stop happen instantly but Time Erasure happens within ten seconds of actual time. It does not matter how "long" it is unless Dio can set up a scenario in which Diavolo has no chance to escape (like somehow set up like a barrage of knives that hits all spots Diavolo can get to in 10 secs for over 10 seconds) then Diavolo just skips and does his attack. From a pure stand vs stand it seems to me like Diavolo cannot lose as opposed to what the video. Like the only reason Dio would/could win is that Dio is a vampire and has more experience and endurance so he'd be able to figure out how it works and be able to predict when it is going off and then attack. Though idk I am not an expert.

    It's sad to see, but this video is just wrong.
    DIO's time-stop ends as soon as it starts. IT DOES NOT RUN PARALLEL to time-erase, and thus is doesn't matter when during time-erase it was activated, as it would be skipped anyway.
    This is because no time passes between the start of time-stop and end of time-stop.
    DIO would just teleport during Diavolo's time-erasure and would continue moving as fated (still unaware, not even knowing he had used his ability).
    Because time would be skipped, from DIO's perspective, his time stop would've happened and been over without him even realising.
    TL;DR:
    Diavolo would be hoping DIO *does* activate his ability during time-erase, and his chances of winning are much higher than what the video proposes.

      There's a 1 second difference right? So it only fucks DIO up if he activates it immediately. But if Dio doesn't immediately activate it, KC will run out mid-timestop.

      KC's Time Erase won't run out during time stop because... the flow of time is stopped, so Time Erase's 10 seconds will also stop ticking down until time resumes again.
      But this will be predicted and skipped either way, so stopping time during Time Erase accomplishes nothing for DIO.

    TS doesn’t put Dio outside of time, it just slows time relative to him. He’s still vulnerable to Epitaph, which would see the effects of Dio’s attack. From Diavolo’s perspective via TE, he would see Dio teleporting. But from Dio’s perspective, he’d be in the middle of TS’s cooldown, he & Diavolo have both teleported, and KC is right behind him. Diavolo loses because Dio’s vamp physiology lets Dio survive getting his chest blown out, but Epitaph is the dealbreaker that would put KC above Star Platinum.

      I dont think diavolo loses becuz of dios vampiric abilities, even if dio survives, first of all his regeneration isnt the best, and even if he goes for an attack at that time epitaph can see thru that

    People have to understand that Diovolo isn't actually messing with time, he's just stepping outside of it and affecting everyone's perception of time.
    Basically, Diovolo is a shark that can step outside of the ocean for 10 seconds.
    Dio is the killer whale that can freeze the entire ocean for 10 seconds.
    Diovolo would still be moving outside of the frozen time, yes. But the minute it ends he'll still return to the frozen time.

      I like this analogy. Basically if Diavolo is a shark then time erasure basically allows him to jump out of the water for ten seconds but the minute he falls back in he’ll get frozen.

    I think you forgot to take epitaph into account for this battle. considering diavolo could simply just witness himself getting killed and just skip past it avoiding his fate while if dio was on the receiving end of fate he wouldnt be able to stop it from happening

      it wouldn't work on timestop, he could risk skipping into it if he does it too early. epitaph wont work on dio either, diavolo cant perceive timestop so its just dio teleporting around for seemingly no god damn reason other than he's a stand user

    This would only make sense if DIO's ability froze space *instead* of time. It would have essentially the same effect, but allow other time-based effects to interfere.
    Now, if DIO froze time instead, then Diavolo would see DIO teleport at some point during the time skip. In this scenario, Diavolo could win.

    Both of them could easily clap one another, its all about who gets discovered first..
    diavolo has the advantage of discovering dio first with epitath, therefore diavolo could get close enough too erase time and crush his brains as diavolo intended to do.
    Dio could stop time and if he was lucky he'd stumble across diavolo before diavolo knew, then beat him to death during his stopped time.
    Face to face encounter would be like both having a loaded gun and somehow missing each other untill one or the other gets a lucky shot inn.

    I agree with all of these except the stalemate example, the only reason this doesn’t work is because timestop I believe is a universal event therefore like what people comment, time erase would skip over dio’s timestop. The only reason I say it’s universal is because the fact in part 6 time stop got shortened because universe acceleration, which is tied to the universe resetting aka a universe phenomenon.
    But dio’s still wins because of regeneration. But finally in a case where which one would win in a fight stands alone no character hacks, king crimson would win

      In the last part you said that king crimson would win if the battle didn’t use any stand abilities, but Dio has regeneration, super strength and speed, and all his other base abilities without his stand. Also, the world is likely way stronger and more precise than king crimson, seeing as we never saw king crimson be able to lift anything as heavy, or see anything as far. Finally, Dio is just way smarter and knows much more about fighting, so I think in every scenario with or without abilities Dio wins

    Cool theory bro, heres a bit of my interpretation building off your points:
    I like the idea that KC would be able to see everyones fated movements right up until Dio activates The World which freezes everything in place. This would essentially make Diavolo completely blind to what will happen in the next few seconds. KC can still move to within time erasure (since he alone is free from the influence of fate) but he can no longer observe the fated movement’s of anything around him since Dio is the only one able to view what happens in stopped time. Time erasure then ends and KC is forced into time stop
    Its like bro is blindfolded. His worse nightmare.
    I guess TS could cancel and interrupt TE but I like this version more.

      The thing is TS is instantaneous to others so he would just see a sudden jump in whatever premonition he got, he could still skip over the moment that was stopped because it doesn’t last 10 seconds for anyone but DIO but it’s just instant for Diavolo which means he would for sure be able to see something weird in his premonition especially if he got attacked during that instant, showing Diavolo what happened and allowing him to skip over that “instant” which is just TS

      if time stop , well basically stops time, then epitaph would be just useless, but time erasure will be ultimate counter, because stopped time takes 0 seconds and it will be included into erased segment, leading to king crimson taking the best position to attack.
      However, in my interpretation, dio doesn’t stop time, he just freezes whole world, but time still goes. In that case diavolo’s epitaph will work, but time erasure will be kinda useless. Because, yeah he won’t be affected while he is erased time, but after time erase he will be probably freezed as dio would >50% use it after te

      Tho, if we compare their prime versions, king crimson initially could erase 12 seconds, so king crimson need only predict and activate te right before dio’s ability. But nerfed kc will probably lose

    I think it's all highly dependant on how the period that gets skipped is determined by king crimson.
    1) king crimson takes now and a set point 10 seconds into the future, and skips absolutely everything that occurs in between no matter how many seconds might be compressed into a single instant through time stop. So if the world's activated in that period of time the full time stop would be skipped as well, though from king crimson's perspective it dio would just instantly teleport mid time skip following whatever he was fated to do in his time stop, but he wouldn't remember any of it. And since diavolo was intangible at the start and end of time stop, he remains so during it.
    In this scenario, dio would remain a slave to fate, and thus diavolo would have the advantage, knowing everything that would happen still.
    2) King crimson only skips the 10 seconds it can percieve. So if the world is used mid time skip, Dio would regain awareness for the full duration of time stop, since this is beyond king crimson's range. While diavolo should still be intangible due to king crimson, Dio should now be aware of king crimson's activation, and as a side effect of this his fate has now changed from what epitaph would have seen. This would mean that once time stop ends and time skip resumes, diavolo would now be confronted with dio acting in a way that was not predicted by epitaph.
    In this case, it's a very even matchup. Dio will be forced to adapt to a partial time skip first as he awakens mid time stop, and then adapt once more post time skip. Diavolo meanwhile will have to keep working around Dio's fate having changed for the latter half of time skip.
    3) King crimson skips the next 10 seconds, regardless of whether they are during real time or frozen time.
    If this is the case it would somewhat like the following:
    Diavolo skips time, king crimson's timer starts running
    6 seconds into skipped time, the world gets activated
    Diavolo stops moving but remains untouchable, meanwhile dio starts moving but is not aware of his actions. King crimson's timer keeps tickin.
    4 seconds pass and king crimson's timer ends, time skip is stopped, diavolo becomes tangible once more, and dio becomes aware while already partially in time stop.
    Dio finishes his remaining seconds, and time stop ends.
    This would be the most interresting scenario imo because it heavily relies on how long dio is able to stop time.
    If it's the standard 5 seconds of part 3, then diavolo can easily remain intangible for the entirety of time stop, and still have time to spare to react to whatever dio might have done during time stop. Though it would still put a big limit on his abilities.
    Meanwhile if dio's time stop is at the 9 seconds of end of part 3 (or god forbid even beyond), then diavolo will be forced to choose between if he wants to be intangible and safe for the majority of stopped time, or if he wants to go on the offensive and lay a trap (blood in the eyes) before it even begins.

    My take: if activated at the same time Deo would see himself and Diavolo teleport. While Diavolo would see Deo teleport while he was "erasing time"
    Explanation:
    Kingcrimson is not truly erasing time and he is not outside of time. he is simply entering an intagible state and can deviate from his fate for 10 seconds. And only he will have memory of those 10 seconds. We know he can't literally be outside of time because he still see's everybody else's actions move in real time. He can't stop moving through time and he can't go backwards in time. We know this because he see's time going in reverse when he encounters GER which he notes as irregular. Erasing time and being outside of time is merely language which makes it easier to grasp how his powers work. From the outside perspective it would appear he erased a moment of time however from his perspective he still saw all that time pass.
    However Deo is actually stopping time. Since Diavolo is clearly subject to time since he keeps moving forward through time Deo's time stop would still work on him. So Diavolo would just see Deo suddenly teleport.
    Lets use an example to make this easier.
    Original fate:
    Deo stops time. He barrage punches Diavolo. Time resumes. Deo monologues over his dying body and walks away once he dies.
    Epitaph:
    Diavolo see's him and Deo standing. Then they both teleport and he's on the floor dying while Deo stands over him monologuing.
    Reality:
    Diavolo unaware of what happened but knowing that he is currently fated to die starts "erasing" time to escape that fate. They are both currently standing. Then Deo activates time stop and performs his fated action. Because Deo can't alter fate he does the barrage. Diavolo even when time is stopped is still intangible so even if Deo punched where Diavolo is during the "erased time" he couldn't hurt him. Deo finishes the barrage and time resumes. Diavolo now see's Deo seemingly teleport and then begin monologuing.
    Now as for the winner I'd have to say Deo. Deo has some pretty insane durability and pretty good regen. It took a lot of hits from star platinum to take him down and at best king crimson is equal in strength however his fighting style is much more based in assassination kills so even though he does the same damage per attack he naturally does much less attacks than Star platinum making for lower DPS. This is especially disadvantageous since Deo can regen so Diavolo has to deal lots of damage very quickly.
    In addition Deo can spam Time stop more than Diavolo can. Lets say they both have a 10 second cooldown on their abilities and they both activate at the same time.
    0: they activate
    T1-10: the entirety of Deo's time stop actions take place
    E1-9: Deo's time stop is charging, and Diavolo sets himself up for a sneak attack.
    E10: time erasure is finished and has begun charging. Time stop has finished charging and is ready to be used.
    See what just happened here? The first time stop happened mid erasure. And then the recharging time is skipped by time erasure allowing it to be used immediately.
    In addition Time erasure erases the targets memory meaning whatever they were intending to do before the erasure is what try to do after the erasure. And now that Diavolo no longer has time skip he can't avoid being pummeled by Deo in time stop. So Diavolo literally can't escape Deo's time stop. Allow me to show you with an example.
    Fate: Deo stops time, barrage punches Diavolo, monolouges, walks away.
    Epitaph: Diavolo and Deo teleport leaving Diavolo dying on the floor
    Diavolo's perspective:
    Seeing he is fated to die and that fate can't be altered activates time "erasure" to escape this fate. He see's Deo teleport like in the vision and then begin monologuing. Diavolo not understanding what just happens looks at epitaph, he see's himself preparing to punch Deo from behind only for him and Deo to teleport again leaving him dying on the floor. Diavolo checks epitaph again with different strategies but they all leave him a red paste on the floor. He does this until time skip finishes. At which point he teleports and see's Deo standing over him as he bleeds out.
    Deo's perspective. Deo begins to stop time. He teleports and then time stops. He takes note that he's not where he was standing a second ago and looks around and see's king crimson about to punch him. He then punches Diavolo into the ground until time stop runs out. He then monologues over his dying body.
    Tldr:
    King crimson still follows the linear progression of time thus time stop would affect him and it would appear to him like Deo kust teleported. Time skip would then skip over time stops recharge time making it ready to use as soon as time skip is over while Diavolo still meeds to recharge. Deo has no memory of the time skip and thus since he began activating time stop prior to the skip he would activate time stop as soon as time skip ends. To him it would appear like he teleported as soon as he activated time stop. He would then pummel Diavolo which Diavolo can't do anything to stop since Time skip is still recharging.

    So basically if Time skip is activated and Time stop after it. Diavolo seas Dio's fated frames like in a game and in between some of them aren't record since it was his action during time stop. From Dio's pov the Time skip effect stops during the Time Stop which leaves Dio confused but still allows him to willingly perform his Time Stop action, once it runs out he will be affected by Time Erase and Epitaph prediction. BOT you kind of forgot that Time Erase Time still passes on in real time and Time Stop time doesn't since not even a second passes of real time. But I agree with the conclusion of the video the explanation was kinda weird but interesting as an interpretation what would happen during both effects!

    Epitaph cannot see into DIO’s frozen time. All Diavolo would know is that something would attack him during that instant. Say Diavolo knows he’s going to get killed by The World during the time stop and so activates King Crimson to dodge it and get behind DIO to counterattack. Unbeknownst to Diavolo, during stopped time, DIO attacked everything around him and not just where Diavolo was fated to be. Diavolo would be killed mid timeskip unless Epitaph updated mid timeskip.

      Diavolo isn't tangible during time skip (f.e. when he skipped over 0,5 seconds for Aerosmith's bullets to pass through him) so even if Dio attacked everything around him, the attack occurred during stopped time, a lapse that takes 0 seconds, and during a moment where Diavolo couldn't be touched.

    Wait this is more of a question. If Dio activiated time stop during Time erasure. Woudn't time stop start and end immediatly? Because King Crimson can't be conscious during time stop. Woudn't Dio just teleport to a random spot as if Diavolo coudn't see the stopped time? Personally I think the battle mostly comes down to if King Crimson and Diavolo are affected by time stop during the world's ability. So if King Crimson isn't affected by time stop and is not concious while the time stop is active I would argue that King Crimson would just Skip Over the entire time stop but if King crimson is concious during the ability, would diavolo's ability end after time stop and shorten the span of his time erasure to practically 0 seconds for the outside world or would it extend time stop to 20 seconds?

Epitaph would allow Diavolo to see all the frame that Dio does in the 10 seconds prediction but the action of Dio in time stop will not be show since they accord without time passing. So Diavolo would just see Dio skipping frames in his movement in real time. TLD; nothing he does in time stop will be show in Epitaph

    All Diavolo needs to see is the aftermath of Time Stop in order to prevent it. Epitath would be the game changer for Diavolo, as Dio's actions would be hindered useless in the frozen time. Should both abilities activate at once, Diavolo would be at the advantage as he would perceive the outcome of Dio's ability immediately and be able to resposition himself to wherever Dio "teleported" in order to inflict a powerful blow.
    Dio's regeneration isn't gonna do much for him, considering that after Jotaro's gut punch, he had to absorb blood in order to get back on his feet and the head blow completely messed him up. Diavolo's winning condition would be for either both abilities to be activated at once or for him to get Dio to his range while remaining hidden so he can activate his ability and punch Dio's brains out in the next second. Dio could stop time for an hour, if KC is activated, Diavolo would remain invulnerable, and once the time freeze is done KC would still be on and Dio would remain a slave to fate. Even though it is the inferior stand for combat, King Crimson is the perfect counter to The World

      Yes, but time stop would recharge in skipped time and DIO has a major reaction time advantage.
      Diavolo had to use a mix of King Crimson and Epitaph to avoid Aerosmith’s bullets, The World can react to bullets being fired.

    Here's what would happen from the two abilities interacting.
    Epitaph would see all of the results of DIO's actions in Timestop simulataneously. This could potentially obscure the results of DIO's actions, but it would give Diavolo an indiaction that something fucked was going to happen, letting him timeskip to avoid it.
    Overall, I think Diavolo has the advantage, but DIO could easily get the win if he's able to surprise Diavolo. Considering how Bruno was able to surpise Diavolo repeatedly in their first fight, it's easy to see how DIO could get off a timestop without Diavolo skipping it.
    Overall, I say Diavolo wins but with high difficulty.

    I approach this eith a diffirent persfective. I originally made a more complex comment but showing it with numbers will be better than explane it only with words.
    In your persfective the interact is.
    Time erase:1, 2, 3,5, time stop 1-time erase 6, time stop 2, time erase 7...
    My persfective: time erase: 1, 2, 3, 4, (time stop:1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
    See. I mean while the "time" in the stoped time is passing its not count as a passed time in the universe. Its betwen the seconds in the real seconds. Like the files with in the files. Thats why I belive when diavolo erase time, the stoped time betwen the seconds the diavolo erased is also gonna be erased. And also there is also the another reason. The bubble appeares to stop time is probally not a space time distortion. It woukd make more sense if its "gravity" and we now in the erased time gravity dont effect diavolo. So even if everything stops somehow diavolo wouldnt be stoped by gravity. And also I dont think diavolo can see the stoped time in the epithep but he can see its counsquences. Or at least he can see when its started. So in my theory diavolo will see in the future dios time stops ending and what thinks changed after he did that. And when dio activates time stop in erased time eather dio will just gonna teleport while still in the eraed time or diavolo will not be stoped by gravity and gonna watch what happend in the stoped time and when the gravity that effects time is gone universe time will keep passing. And diavolo will gonna keep erasing them. And there is no way dio can stop time before diavolo becof the epithap

    If we’re looking at this fight as DIO and the world vs Diavolo and king crimson DIO will win since Diavolo has no sure fire way to inflict permanent damage on DIO. But if it’s just The World vs King Crimson then it once again falls to which ability triggers first, if time stop triggers first than The World wins but if time erase triggers first it depends on how time stop works. If all actions in time stop happens in an instant then in time erase it’ll look like the world just teleported to another spot, giving King Crimson a chance to attack, or if fated, The World taking damage or being killed in time skip. If time stop just stops everything from moving for 10 seconds then it’ll probably play out like this video mentioned. So in the end The World is still more likely to win

Meaning, DIO couldn't just notice he used Time Stop once the Time Erasure timer ends - meaning he might just use Time Stop multiple times during one Time Erasure

    This is an incredible theoretical interaction between the two time manipulating stands, this should be the JoJo community's main interpretation of the two's fight. It removes so much misconceptions and provides such a well thought perspective of the two fighters during this thereotical battle.
    The only thing I want to point out is that I don't think Diavolo is really untouchable in erased time because he is somehow "removed from all fate and effects of the universe", it's because him erasing events and actions makes them unable to touch Diavolo. But as you have explained, DIO's timestop still works in erased time and DIO can still act however he likes, Diavolo will no longer be invulnerable to DIO's attacks and would lose even more badly in this fight.

    Oh so this might be a relative or relativity type of thing? Both can observe the events but they happen within different time? For dio time was stopped but for diovolo time still moved but they both were unable to affect each other
    Since Time skip makes Diovolo immune to outside influence then he can avoid time stop, but only if time stop is universal and affects everything. So if you have a power that can places you away from natural laws then you can avoid it for a brief timing. But time stop might be a thing that only affects dio and not world. That may cause problems.

    I think the most likely interaction if their ability activated at the same time is that dio would immediately go unconscious due to skipped time, and he would of course act out his fated actions. These fated actions include stopping time. From diavolos perspective he would start the time skip and then he would witness the unconscious dio teleport while acting out his fated actions.

    The thing is Diavolo's power is less about messing with time and more about changing fate itself. Anything that DIO does in the 10 seconds is fated to happen and Diavolo can change it to his benefit. Dio wins because he's a vampire and wouldn't die, but in my opinion changing fate > stopping time

    i always had the interpretation that diavolo could see the actions of time stop as a single image, he sees fate more than time, and i think it would generate a more interesting fight

    Personally, I fee that this is a poor interpretation of what might happen if they both activated at the same time. Due to the fact that Dio’s time stop takes up no actual time, it would occur within time skip and end within time skip. Diavolo would simply see Dio teleport along with everything he manipulated in his time stop, as that time doesn’t actually exist, so epitaph would not be able to see it. This means King Crimson and The World are on an equal playing field, Diavolo would use his time skip, but it would be useless when Dio suddenly teleports away. Dio’s time stop would be pointless as it would not be able to harm Diavolo with time skip active. Diavolo would be able to predict himself being harmed as a result of Dio’s time stop and skip over it. Their powers are about equal, if time skip isn’t above time stop, meaning this would be a battle of stats. Those E’s on King Crimson are really gonna be a burden to Diavolo.

    The heavily depends on TS, and if the "8/10 seconds" are actually 8/10 seconds.
    This either results in dio using TS midway through TE and being free with X amount of seconds left to attack Diavolo or the second possibility of TS taking place as is perceived by normal people during TE and teleporting Dio midway through, allowing diavolo X amount of seconds to attack him.
    I feel the second scenario is more likely, so assuming the second interaction, the winner would come down to if Dio can survive a full force hit from King Crimson.

    It depends on who activates his power first tbh, if dio stops time before diavolo erases it dio wins, if diavolo sees a future where he is somehow damaged, he will erase time.
    And to clear up a misconception created by headcanon, diavolo's ability is to literally erase time, its not to remove himself from fate, stand statements in jojoveller and diavolo's statements further support this fact, if diavolo erases time, dio wouldnt be able to stop time simply because there is no time to stop.

    I'm pretty sure Time stop has a range like all other stands. So, my theory is that if Diavolo somehow through "Epitaph" saw himself beat in the next 10 seconds and activated time erasure in time, he might just be able to avoid being caught by the time stop simply by "skipping" the 10 coming seconds, he would essentially just be on the run at all times to get out of The world activation reach, while Dio is left standing trying to figure out why he constantly keeps teleporting. In this case, if The World were to be seen during the "intagible" time period, then it's probably over already, because then it would mean regardless of what Diavolo tries from that point on, he would only be able to predict his death, since Dio would probably activate The world the moment he sees King Crimson is in range. After all Dio only has about 10 seconds himself while "the world" is stopped, if King Crimson is far away then he is always using his 10 seconds just to catch up.
    The only scenario king crimson could stand a chance is if Dio for some reason was caught by its ability and never bothered to activate his after being "skipped" 10 seconds ahead in time, because let's be honest, even if king crimson managed to hurt Dio, he still a vampire, chances are with his wits and regen, he would figure out Crimson's ability relatively fast and counter it.
    Now, King Crimson vs Star Platinum could be more interesting as King crimson would be able to deal some damage (which can't be regenerated) to Jojo if he was to be caught off-guard by Time erasure.

    People are acting like time stops lasts time, relative to the real world it lasts 10 seconds but to any outsider time stop is literally instant, so time skip would last longer, and during time stop diavolo pretty much doesn’t exist, so diavolos time skip overpowers time stop

    time stop shouldn't count as any time spent in time erasure bc it's literally 0 seconds. dio wouldn't stop, he'd teleport. diavolo would experience timestop the same way any non ts user would witness it, only he'd be immune to any attacks during time erase

    Polnareff was able to survive diavolo with the trick of the drops of blood and could tell when time had been erased in order to counterattack or dodge what was coming.
    Dio or Jotaro can do this and stop time just when the erasure is over so they kill diavolo
    But if they attacked diavolo first he could use epitaph and know when they are going to stop time to use the erasure and win because the erasure lasts 10 seconds and the stopped time only 5
    Diavolo could use his remaining 5 seconds of erasure and beat Dio or Jotaro depends on who attacks first to win.

      But DIO’s lasts 9 seconds. And stopped time would effectively be instant.
      Think of a lag spike allowing DIO to mash a whole bunch of inputs and do all of them at once.
      Diavolo’s epitaph would see DIO either just killing Diavolo normally or (since DIO knows he would be powerful), blasting a whole bunch of efficient attacks instantly while teleporting. (DIO has no reason to gloat, since Diavolo isn’t a Joestar and could pose a serious threat)
      Also, DIO wouldn’t know Diavolo’s stand ability so the blood thing wouldn’t occur to DIO

    People don’t understand how fate works in jojos. All events including time erase, time stop and even time acceleration is already destined to occur due to fate. Diavolo changing his fate was already fated to happen so he isn’t actually changing fate. People would always argue that since time stop halts time, it would all occur during less than a second of KCs time erase, however, because KC steps outside of the universe, time stop actually occurs during the same time interval as time erase so he can’t skip over it and the length of each respective ability actually matters.

    unless DIO makes a blunder, or Diovalo figures out how to feed DIO's ego the chances are DIO will win, however diovalo's epitaph can tell him an immense amount, if he uses time erase perfectly then it will just be based on pure fightining, in pure fighting it seems dio has an advantage but not really, epitaph allows diovalo to supersayan dio, therefore i would say diovalo has a good chance of winning.

    Star platinum and the world will not have the same feats, star platinum has better stand stats and was shown to be more precise and faster and stronger than the world, they are relative to s certain degree, but dio literally didnt want to get close to jotaro because of the differences

    DIO wins. Maybe not easily but he does.
    He’s nearly impossible to kill especially if you can’t land a hit on him.
    You can’t skip time if time isn’t moving, if DIO senses Diavolo’s powerful aura (which it seems most users can) he would probably just stop time and deal with him. He has no reason to gloat against Diavolo because he isn’t a Joestar and nobody knows him, not enough fame to be worth a second glance.
    King crimson is slow, both in attacks and in cooldown on Time Erase.
    I love Diavolo as much as the next guy but I mean c’mon, The World and its time stop ability are called the “ultimate stand” in their part and beyond it, even Araki still considers it to be the best. Time stop was the only thing that stood a chance against Pucci, and it wasn’t even DIO that time. Time Erase would be too slow, in both a fight against made in heaven but also against time stop.

      Given. The fact that the next best stand (Star Platinum) was still considered the best stand at the beginning of Part 5, Yep.
      Though I think that it would appear to Diavolo that DIO teleports and impales Diavolo with his fist in the same instant, but Time stop recharges and DIO wouldn’t be aware of the previous use of timestop.
      Also, Diavolo’s Epitaph doesn’t account for King Crimson’s time erasure/skip, so he has no reason to believe that he has any reason to attack the world instead.

    I think the winner is the who is determined more , in dio's case he probably will not be serious dio 's arrogant , while diavolo most likely to run away if fate isnt his side by erasing time (if dio is fated to punch diavolo during time stop, diavolo will see the aftermath of punch but since he could'nt know how dio suddently moved and punched him he probabbbly get scared and leave) , but if fate is with diavolo dio loses

    The greatest question we have to answer is if Dio would be concious if he stopped time during a time erasure and if he would be able to interact with Diavolo at that time. I think the best non canon answer lies in the most recent Jojo game, Last Survivor. In this game, when Diavolo erases time, everyone else's environment becomes a space-like void and Diavolo becomes invisible, meaning they aren't supposed to be concious at that time. When Dio stops time during this sequence, his environment is still a void (meaning he's not conscious) but if he happens to hit invisible Diavolo by chance, once the time stop ends, Diavolo does take damage. This all means that (at least for the standards of Last Survivors' makers), DIO would not be able to perceive anything during Time Erasure, but if it's fated for him to stop time and try to donut Diavolo during the 10 second time skip, and he actually lands the hit during his Time stop, Diavolo is dead. Diavolo's best choice would be to skip time and move as far away as possible to dogde Dio's potential time stop attacks.

    As much as i love Diavolo and kc. Dio just dogs on Diavolo even with TE. As timestop affects the whole universe so diavolo would just be frozen in his time erasure, still unable to be hurt, but once both abilities end dio most likely wouldn't stop hitting him or just throw knifes at him resulting hin diavolo getting bodied.

    Well, that’s actually really depends is Time stop stops time or it stops whole world but time still goes. If time stops basically stops time, then logically it would take 0 time and it will be included into erasure segment, leading to diavolo’s win. If it’s stops whole universe, but doesn’t affect time, then probably while in time erasure diavolo won’t be affected by it, he will be defeated after time erasure if dio will use timestop after time erase.
    Well, I think that time stop actually stops the whole universe but not the time and diavolo would probably lose

    If diavolo uses epitath tp predict dio stopping time, he can time his erasure to negate anything dio does within time stop, possibly giving KC the jump on TW, but this also means theh would be face to face during the cooldown period, meaning Even if only for a very short time they would be forced to use straight hands, which dio would win in due to having Better stamina, as well as dio beong able to heal kc signature impale or chop, while any damage kc takes is permanent

    This fight HEAVILY favors Diavolo in any scenario that isn't DIO ganking him before Diavolo knows he's even there. Fundamentally, Time-Stop is an ability that allows the user to take (X) seconds worth of actions in a single instant, with (X) being whatever length of "time" DIO can stop. But regardless of that length, even if DIO advances to a point of being able to stop time for what he perceives to be literal years, all of these actions ultimately occur in a *single* instant. Not even a picosecond. A functionally worthless amount of time that we don't have a word to describe, EASILY skippable by King Crimson.
    Diavolo is shown to be effectively intangible during Time-Skip, with bullets outright phasing through him on multiple occasions. Evidence suggests he simply can't be harmed during erasure. From his perspective, Epitaph shows DIO monologuing, teleporting forward, and suddenly Diavolos guts are on the ground and The Worlds fist is coming out his back. He doesn't need to know that he stops time or anything, even if he's frozen during his own erasure, he just sees this and says "Oh, that's dangerous and going to kill me. I should skip it," which erases any effect the actions taken during Time-Stop might have on him.
    The question is, entirely, whether or not King Crimson can be compared to The World (Or DIO's physical body) in terms of raw strength and speed. If he can crush the Stand, he wins. If he can't, he doesn't have much of a chance at beating his regeneration.

    Dio would realise that time is skipping as everything around him seems to randomly jump... not just Diavolo.
    Dio could just count in his head... 1, 2, 3, 4 ...... 7 (Hey wait a minute... 7 doesn't come after 4 ZA WARUDO!!!!!!
    Then Diavolo will just be suspended in time (most likely standing directly behind him).

      He can’t attack people during time erase because he can’t mess with others predetermined fate during it. Only Diavolo is free from the influence of fate during time erasure while everyone else has to follow it. Meaning, their actions cant be changed which also means they can’t be harmed unless fate deemed it so.

    as many people do note skipped time may just be seen as 0 secs for king crimsons ability unless you consider that timestop 9 sec rule is some sorta cosmic 9 secs where reality knows 9 secs have passed but timeis still frozen or some BS which would then yeah those 9 secs would count likely for epitaphs 10 sec of future sight and the 10 secs of time erasure which would simply grow and beat it out. Assuming he just sees it as 0 secs it would allow him to do his usual strat but as noted timestop is spammy as all hell and i dont believe king crimson is so whats likely is that if king crimson cant put down dio at the end of that 10 secs via just the world getting in the way he may just instantly use timestop and win before king crimson can erase the fate. Or even funnier if ya just have a wide range attack that goes on for 10 mecs like say throwing a fuck ton of knives all over the place may make it so king crimson ability runs out andthen he gets hit by a knife cause he didnt manage to get himself out of the way.

    DIO takes the victory, simple as that, people dont seem to consider that although they have similar stats, there is a magnitude even within them, Silver chariot cant Contend with Star platinum in speed, and it was defeated by the fact King crimson uses his time erase to minimize their enemie's reaction time.
    The world is f king busted, goes toe to toe with starplatinum on its PRIME, in the OVA it is shown that every punch, unles protected against, is a ONE HIT KO by the way Dio was surprised that jotaro survived his strike...
    Also, Dio is a VAMPIRE, he took a BARRAGE OF PUNCHES from something that explodes walls of minerals as tough as diamonds with relative ease, plust the dipshit can stop time even when injured, i can image Diavolo going for a fatal blow, get time stopped, and brutally killed.

    I've to correct some of your statements. Dio can stop time for 9 seconds. While diavolo stand can predict the 10 seconds. Which led to diavolo outsmarts outhaxing dio's ability. I personally might be a bias towards diavolo but his feats are inhuman in compere to any character in part 5 (which there are stands like notorious B.I.G, Metallica,sticky fingers,purple haze and more). And I must say that both character are extremely smart by reading dio's novel and rereading part 5 3 times. In a fair battle between the two diavolo would win.

    Diavolo's time earsure is on a higher scale so most of the physics on our diemention aren't implying there (like space and time). So your theory can be debunked but I cannot put it in a statement because I cannot prove how far diavolo time earsure is ahead on scaling.

    If Diavolo were to look at Epitaph, it would show all the results of Time Stop at once. Diavolo would skip, everything Dio does in Time Stop would happen instantly, none of it would affect Diavolo, and then Diavolo could fuck up Dio as soon as timeskip ends.

    This is not what would happen. Time stop would activate and end within time erasure because time is stopped and not moving. Diavolo would not be trapped in stopped time. Also how do you know he would just see Dio frozen and not a jumble of all actions within timestop at once.
