The Imagination Theory! - SpongeBob Conspiracy Everything you know about the show SpongeBob SquarePants will change All clips used fall under fair use.
My theory: Squidward is driving himself nuts by thinking about what Spongebob and Patrick could possibly be doing in the box. Squidward is actually the one imagining all the sounds from the box. You can tell he is obsessed with the box by how frequently he investigates the box, how he tries to use his own box, and by how he can’t even watch TV without thinking everything on the TV is about the same box he is obsessed with. All of this goes away when he is around Spongebob and Patrick because he is embarrassed to indulge in his imagination around his neighbors (the same imagination and the same neighbors he has been making fun of for the entirety of the episode) so he reverts to making fun of them and dismissing them like he always does. This wouldn’t be the first time Squidward has let his imagination run wild (Squid’s Day Off, when he is constantly worrying that Spongebob is destroying the Krusty Krab, comes to mind) so it isn’t out of character for Squidward to live in an imaginary world inside his head while trying to convince himself and his neighbors that he isn’t.
But spongebob is seen doing the driving thing when he opens up the box. My theory is that spongebob and Patrick have some kind of hidden power that they don't realize because they have the brains of 8 year olds . and it drives Squidward nuts. I think spongebob is some kind of God . I mean he has the ability to teleport, lift things, even create life out of inanimate objects such as bubble buddy . so him making random sounds in a box is not to far of a stretch.
You guys are slow. SpongeBob literally says it over and over again in the episode. It’s your sense of imagination, the joke is since squidward is so grumpy all the time he has no imagination. Therefore the box only works for SpongeBob and Patrick since they’re very kid like and have big imaginations.
It seems in this universe, the ability to use your imagination allows the individual to actually manifest it into reality (why Squidward could hear the noises coming from the box.). It also explains why their thought bubbles manifest into physical reality, why SpongeBob's bubbles come to life with impossible shapes, etc.
I mean not every Squidward episode ends this way…a couple of Squidward episodes end in him having a happy ending. Band Geeks, the House Fancy episode and many others. The character who really never gets a happy ending is Plankton. I can only think of one episode where he got a semi “happy ending” which was more like justice was served but whatever I count it cause again this stuff never happens. The episode where Mr Krabs held all those prisoners along with Plankton who was another one of his prisoners but instead of just holding him like the rest of the prisoners, he just keeps torturing him and only him over and over again when I would argue those other prisoners must’ve done way worse than attempt to steal a sandwich recipe. At the end of the episode however Krabs gets in trouble for releasing the prisoners early and then Plankton gets to hold him and torture him just like Krabs tortured him. Which again I wouldn’t count as a happy ending, I would count it as justice being served and karma finally catching up to Mr Krabs. I do feel bad for Squidward of course and most of his episodes do end in tragedy for Squidward but there definitely are a handful that don’t.
@@Mr.Cinian but there’s one question is bikini bottom the only town in the sea? I mean maybe bikini bottom is apart if an empire or is a Empire since theres 3 towns Neptune might not be the only god in the sea

Squidward and spongebob are actually different ages. Squidward is in his 60s while spongebob is somewhere in his 30s and Patrick is I believe in his 40s-50s. They aren’t exactly the same age. But, their lives are very similar. Just for your info.
i still can’t believe you’re that underrated i’ve watched every spongebob conspiracy of yours and they’re all so good
They are entertaining. But don't make much sense

Why is the comment in the replies so long?

Every average hard worker can relate or understands squidward

Soooo... what's the theory of the episode??
I was hoping for a theory on how Squidward is able to hear the same noises as spongebob and Patrick
