I'm a Black 52 year old female and I love this movie and this beautiful song💯🎶😘👌♥️
Welcome to real music 🎶
Good songs have no boundaries of any kind.❤
And We love you
Hi baby I'm DG blkface from Chicago...how you doing
you are awesome!
I was stationed in Texas when this movie came out ... We hung out at Gillies just like a real cowboy ... An old man now w many great memories
I may have seen you there. Although Gillies was big. That was our weekend place to go. Seeing this reminds of those good Ole days.
I’m glad you have great Memories
Hi my name is Dakota

As a Puerto Rican born in the raised in the south Bronx, movies like this broadened our eyes to different cultures and music. I thank my parents and now i know that racism is taught, you’re not born with it. Hip hop, salsa, rock, country, pop and all other genres we can’t let politics and ignorance divide us.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You know my buddy fast Eddie... from coneneget
John being John. Three huge movies in a row with completely different music genres (Saturday Night Fever, Grease, and Urban Cowboy). And with such beautiful leading ladies such as Olivia Newton John and Debra Winger. Damn, the dude was doing something right back then!
I'm 25 and absolutely love watching Urban Cowboy and hearing this song. I'm forever grateful my mom introduced me to this movie.
It's such a great movie from an era I'm time that's sadly passed
Adriana quinones if you still in Laredo Texas I love you never forget you!!!
Man,this was my wife's favorite song. We went dancing at Gilley's every weekend for about 5 years ,or more. We were hanging out there when this movie was filmed. Good times.
Any behind the scenes stories to tell? Did you meet any of the cast?
No way. Your so lucky. Was you in the background of the movie? That had to be so awesome
I can't get enough of this movie. There's something about it that I adore it so much.
I agree..love watching it every now and then. So good!
As movies go, it was very realistic. The oil patch here around Houston is a real thing. It was then, and it still is now. Refinery work in Texas is a unique thing. So this movie is as close as most people will ever get.
Amen this is a staple I go back to, I do the same with Saturday Night Fever too 😂
No wokeness in it
Absolutely love this movie. I never could get tired of it. Debra and John had such great chemistry. ❤️
Sure do wish we could bring these times back, everything was so much simpler back then
For sure!! Great times, you could to the bars, have fun and not as much trouble!
@@Melinda8162God I miss those good times……….
Like no online dating 🥺
Yikes, this movie came out 44 years ago! I still watch it every time it is shown on TV. All of the actors were good especially Debra Winger and Scott Glenn.
This song started playing when I walked up to my husband's casket at the funeral home... It tore me up... We were together 29 1/2 years... He died September 23, and our anniversary was March 23, 6 months since he died
My deepest sympathies to you in the loss of your husband. Prayers and thoughts your way 🌸
sorry for your loss.
Travolta is a legend. He started the disco movement. Then he started the cowboy movement. He might be one of the best actors of all time.
He was very cute. I mean still is, very humble & nice gentle soul 💕
He didn't start the "cowboy movement". Maybe, to y'all, but we had been dancing at Gilley's long before Travolta even knew it existed.
Is Gilley's still going strong?@@scottwilliams8334
Chris Ledeaux...
I agree!!
Johnny Lee is a national treasure!
May he RIP.
@@bravoaddictAnnhe’s still alive
Johnny Lee rules! One of the greatest country singers ever! Old school! Miss it so much! 56 years old and I am
Still listening to it. Thanks for the memories Johnny!!!
Cool song and movie. I met Travolta when he was filming that here in Houston. I was a little kid, and my Dad took me to the Golden Gloves tourney at the Astrohall. Travolta was a ringside guest. I got his autograph. All I knew him as was “Vinny Babarino.” Too bad my Dad didn’t take me with him to Gilley’s too, then maybe my Mom wouldn’t have ran him out of the house.😂 My Dad had a little band on the side back then (among other things), and he played all that old stuff. Brings back a lot of memories. I’ll have to pick me up a new Stetson in his honor I suppose. Cheers to those old times🍻.
My fist girlfriend dedicated this song to me on the radio, back when people did that kind of thing Lol
Country music and John Travolta! Not the type of combination I could ever have foreseen, but must confess to being pleasantly surprised by this end result anyway! Who else does agrees me here?🤖
Urban Cowboy is a good movie.
@@adamt5164. Ok?
@@erikbihari3625 I didn't really mean much by it, just that he was acting in a movie. However, I think the success of the movie and the success of some of the songs on the pop charts, not just the country charts, contributed to the urban country music movement (although country rock already existed - not by any means the beginning either as Glen Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy was the #2 song for all of 1975.)
More in regards to Travolta though, he's a good actor who played many different types of roles.
@@adamt5164. Ok.
It was Gilleys! The best times ever! Oh by the way Patrick Swayze was standing to the side teaching John all the steps! Patrick knew his stuff!
It was a good cast but I think Scott Glen was the perfect Bad Guy. He looked the part plus his acting was spot on.
He was great in Silence of the Lambs too..😮
@@kevinpaul180He was good in "The Right Stuff" too.
I really like that movie too - he comes off so gritty
I'm sure a lot of people think or say this same thing but when I was young (A long time ago) My wife and me were a complete pair of Bud and Sissy from this movie, except instead of bull riding it was other things, but we acted the same, had the same arguments, the same way things in this show played out (Almost). this movie will always have a special place in my heart. Enjoy your time, life feels like it goes by as fast as dawn to dusk, and it is over. My brother died when he was 16 and I was 15, today is my 54 birthday and I'm going to the funeral of my 1st cousin, who died in a truck wreak, this past saturday, we grew up together and now I'm seeing everyone around me leaving this world. What I'm trying to say is life is hard, and it is short, if you find someone you truly love, don't let some minor nothing get in the way of that, it is special, and you hold onto it and fight for it.
Me and my wife felt the same way. Except, we went to Gilley's every weekend. And, I rode the bull dozens of times.
This touched me. I'm 54. Can't get over that the movie is now like 43 years old. Find that special someone and try to stick together through thick and thin. You Can sub the electric horse for a lot of other life obstacles....
Well said
Been with my husband 30 years
Romance and oove are universal. I was 8 when this movie cane out and to me it was the most romantic movie in the world...
Debra Winger is such a wonderful actress the way she looks at Bud without saying anything says everything in Officer and a Gentleman she again hits a home run what more can I say “ She’s phenomenal
Way to go Paula!
Don't forget Terms of Endearment.

I'm 66yo meemaw and I still love this movie as much as when it first came out. I was a young hawt mama back then. Ha!!
Debra winger is crazy beautiful, her and John Travolta really made this movie.
This was my grandma's favourite song. She kept playing it over and over again because it always put her in a happy mood.
I'm not a country music fan but I love this song.
Awww God bless your grandma ..❤ I bet that a wonderful memory you have of her
Greatest memories loved the urban cowboy days! What a fun time, wish the kids this generation had something like this!
Movie never gets old! Remember seeing this in the movie theater. Everytime it comes on TV , I watch it! Wingers classics Urban Cowboy and Officer and a gentleman! 🤗

Good ole shit days lol
Best Country Soundtrack. Lots of great dancing / 2 steppin' music.
John and Deborah dancing together is so romantic, love the movie and this song. Swoon! 🥰
Remember when my older Tulsa friends, would drive down to Gilley’s for a weekend of boot scooting and partying. Seems just like yesterday.
40 + yr old movie, remember parents watching it and the soundtrack, and I can easily watch it still. It somehow is timeless.
Hands down the best show i ever seen in 1980s ❤😊😊
Last night after dinner me and all my family sat around our TV with blankets and snacks and enjoyed this movie together for the 346th time and were still arguing about pam and sissy lol this film means so much to us we have gilley glass cups gilleys shirts my mom and sister have bud and sissy dancing on they're air fresheners inside of they're vehicles lol back to this beer cheers everyone 😊❤ 2023
I used to go to Gilleys, before it burned down. I’m still here in Houston, my grandson lives in Pasadena. ❤️ they made us famous! Ha
THAT TRUCK IS GREAT!!
I grew up here in S Texas. I was 18 when this movie came out, and the drinking age was still 18 in Texas. lol Yes, I lived it - and I sure miss those days now. I can still smell the horse poop from here. It was a great time to be young and alive! And this was a great song.
Gilley's...omygoodness, so many great memories there. That was the place we all headed every weekend in Pasadena, Texas.. Gilleys will always be the top country bar around. Its a shame it burned down. They have one in Las Vegas, but it will never be the same as the original in Pasadena. RIP Mickey Gilley.
Hell yeah That's when I got married and now ol well just me good times lol
I can’t get enough of this song!!! It makes you get in a time capsule and heals past wounds!!!
This movie came out whenever my mom and dad got together. This was their favorite movie and this was their favorite song. My mom passed away in 2011 but my dad is still here thankfully. Every time I watch this movie and hear this song I think it then
I grew up listening to rock in LA but discovered this movie back in the year 2000 and instantly fell in love with this song and movie. I now love country music! 🇲🇽🇺🇲🇵🇭
One of those movies that gets deep inside you and forms one of those core memories that will make you stop and think about life when you hear songs from it. It's weird that way.
Perfect comment. So very true.
One of the most legendary films ever Created. Cant say enough about it. Mr Travolta you are simply a Legend.
I lived in Houston 'till 75.....went to Gilley's and saw Mickey, Johnny Lee, and Conway several times......Marks on My Timeline of Life.......;).........
Great movie and even better music.
This was my Dad and Mom's song .. when he passed she dedicated it to him at service
I WAS LOOKING FOR LOVE IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES....... SO TRUE BACK IN THE DAY 😊
I cannot wait to find someone whose heart is looking for love
Whats funny, I was 22 yo in 1980. I sought out a shirt like Scott Glen's and wore and it all the time. Had a lot of luck wearing it too back in 1980. Now, hell i would not be caught dead in that thing! LOL!
Love, Love this movie always have. I can watch it over and over. Love John Travolta also. My favorite part is at the end when he puts the license plate that' says Sissy back in the window of his truck.☺️
Absolute True Love.
What a wonderful ending.
Actually saved my Daughter's marriage.
True.
I watch this picture again and again with reverence.
😘
Hello Dawn how are you doing?🌹
Me and my dad used to sing along to this when I was little girl love it
I was married to a country western musician, he'd play the Texas Dance Halls, Night Clubs all over Texas. We got to meet many of the famous bands of the 80s, lots of dancing and great times. What an era!
I had so much fun at GILLEY'S at the time this was happening!
Just an all around classic, sad it doesn't get the attention it should. Who doesn't want a luv like this.🤪😉🥰
Thank you for this video I love this movie and song
This was some movie it's what inspired me to restore my 1978 Ford f100 truck it looks just like John Travolta's from the 1980's movie. It's also signed by John Travolta Debra Winger Johnny Lee and Micky Gilly❤
Debra winger and John Travolta would have made a good couple in real life.
I agree
this was such a great movie. The best word to describe is atmospheric. The characters popped off the screen.
All time my favorite Movie 🎥 ❤

Urban Cowboy, the best and the soundtrack awesome.
I think this is Travolta’s best movie. The song has to be in country’s all-time top ten.
My cousin was a Pasadena Police Officer and was John Travolta’s bodyguard during this movie ❤️

Show!... Bons Tempos. Um Excelente Vídeo e Uma Linda Musica.
Bela Edição. Parabéns. Uma Bela Postagem. Valeu!...
Grande Abraço. Um Lindo Dia e Uma Feliz Quarta-feira...

Lookin for love • Johnny Lee
Well, I spent a lifetime lookin' for you
Single bars and good time lovers were never true
Playing a fools game, hopin' to win
And tellin' those sweet lies and losin' again
I was lookin' for love in all the wrong places
Lookin' for love in too many faces
Searchin' their eyes
Lookin' for traces of what I'm dreaming of
Hoping to find a friend and a lover
I'll bless the day I discover another heart
Well, I spent a lifetime lookin' for you
Single bars and good time lovers were never true
Playing a fools game, hopin' to win
And tellin' those sweet lies and losin' again
I was lookin' for love in all the wrong places
Lookin' for love in too many faces
Searchin' their eyes
Lookin' for traces of what I'm dreaming of
Hoping to find a friend and a lover
I'll bless the day I discover another heart
Lookin' for love
And I was alone then, no love in sight
And I did everything I could to get me through the night
Don't know where it started or where it might end
I turned to a stranger just like a friend
I was lookin' for love in all the wrong places
Lookin' for love in too many faces
Searchin' their eyes
Lookin' for traces of what I'm dreaming of
Hoping to find a friend and a lover
I'll bless the day I discover another heart
Lookin' for love
You came knockin' on my heart's door
You're everything I've been looking for
No more lookin' for love in all the wrong places
Lookin' for love in too many faces
Searchin' their eyes
Lookin' for traces of what I'm dreaming of
Now that I found a friend and a lover
I bless the day I discover
You, oh you, lookin' for love
In all the wrong places
(Lookin' for love) in too many faces
Searchin' their eyes
Lookin' for traces of what I'm dreaming of
Now that I found a friend and lover
I bless the day I discover
You, oh you, lookin' for love
Good song! Country Travolta! What a surprise!
I've been there & it's exactly this way
Wow I'm shocked how good looking Travolta was and how captivating the storyline is. I'm not a movie person but this is definitely one I'll watch which looks so much better than the crap movies out now.
Same here, I" watch It tonight seem a good movie
i was in tx for a while with the nicest lady in the world , work , danced and loved life , love u virgina , miss the days , god bless u
This was my late elder sisters favourite song ❤😢

I came to Houston in 1982 when I was 6, 7 years old with my family from up north, better jobs for my parents and getting away from harsh winters, this was the Houston I remember, a smaller downtown, and VERY "honky tonk". Yes Houston had diversity and a cosmopolitan base, even back then you would see a Vietnamese family or Indian family live right next door to these white urban cowboys, but it was more low key than today. The good ol' boy mentality was strong in 80s Houston. Houston was very much a honky tonk town I would say until somewhere in the late 80s or 90s when it died down. It was not uncommon in 1982 or even 1990 to see people dressed like cowboys and cowgirls for just a regular day, most people did not dress cowboy, about 30-40% of the population did, but that was enough to be noticeable, today it's only during rodeo time in February and March you see people dress "cowboy", the people who do that on the regular now are more like 5% or less.
Cant explain what it was like to be a Texan in the 80s.. Abbott and Cruz and their cronies give the rest of us a bad reputation now days
Great song. I taught my son the 2-step to this song.
I love this movie
I was in Tx during this time sure was fun😂
