    I just ordered a Web Presenter 4K for one of my PPU racks after having a play with one recently. I love the monitor output screen and the info that shows. That now gives me a lot of streaming options with ATEM Mini Pro, straight from vMix, LiveU Solo and now the WebPresenter 4K. I hadn’t realised you could USB tether now from the Mini Pro, so that is useful to know now that I have a mobile modem available too and was one of the reasons to get the Webpresenter for jobs that don’t warrant the LRT costs with LiveU. Thanks Petra.

    I have the original one, that streams 720 with the HD Television Studio, you can setup 3 of these in Tandum so they can stream to different locations at once. That is their best part.

    Thanks for that overview. I've already got the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO so won't break the bank by buying any more toys at the moment despite the 720 stream being attractive. Probably best to spend the money on an upgrade to my home internet instead. You just prompted me to download the latest ATEM software when I realised I was still on 8.6.0 so didn't see the option for prioritising mobile or ethernet for streaming.

      Graham, if I didn't have a streaming events business next to CZcams I also wouldn't buy it. At least you got something out of it by installing the new software :)

    Great job on explaining everything. You explained everything I needed to know between the three devices. I am going to get the 4k web presenter instead of the Extreme ISO. I currently have the mini pro.
    Question, can they mini pro/presenter work together for a more robust setup for live streaming events?

    • @TechCondo
      @TechCondo  Před 2 lety +1

      Fantastic to read it was helpful. Yes you can combine your ATEM Mini Pro with the webpresenter. You do need to convert your HDMI out to SDI with e.g. the 60 usd/euro Blackmagic HDMI to SDI Micro Converter

    Is anybody facing problems with cache memory oh BMWP HD? There are few posts on BM Forum for similar problem from few users but i see there are no problems for other users. Can you do a video help us find out, what we doing wrong? I try several cameras with BM HDMI to SDI 3G converter. I can see the camera normaly, with sound. But the cache of BMWP is goinf after 1 min to 100% and stay there, no matter the internet speed. Any idea?

      Yes, you can David, however you do need a hdmi to sdi converter in between as the Web Presenter only is SDI IN

      @@TechCondo Thanks for the quick reply. Would there be a benefit to using a second encdoer as opposed to the Atem Extreme built in encoder. Im also looking at the VidiuX and wondering if I would notice the differnece. OR is the extreme encoder more than sufficient to produce and encode a great quality image?
      thanks again

  • @gil_carter
    @gil_carter Před 2 lety +2

    Petra, are you able to comment on the video quality when using the Atem Mini and Web Presenter in webcam mode? The Atem uses MJPEG encoding for webcam out - which looks significantly worse than using HDMI out into an Elgato Camlink. Wondering if the Web Presenter webcam out looks same as Atem or if it has a different encoder for its webcam out. Thanks!

    Hi, thank for this video. I have a question.
    Do you know why when I connect my web presenter hd to my network (directly to the switcher without another connection or users) the cache up until 99% and CZcams says my stream status is poor. But when I change my connection (to another source of internet / another company) everything is ok. First company give me more Mb/s and I want to use it for a clean and smooth stream. I hope you can understand me!
    Thanks!!!

    • @TechCondo
      @TechCondo  Před 2 lety

      Hey David. It’s diffucult to troubleshoot without knowing your setup. However in generic terms: A reason why your cache is building up, is that the Web Presenter is not able to offload the video to your streaming service, hence it caches it in your memory pool. You mention “more Mb/s”. What do you mean more “upload” or “download” Mb/s? For streaming I don’t care about my download speed, as we are “uploading” the stream. So your upload stream is the one you should check. My advice is to run speed test to see what your upload speed is. Most of the time, if you don’t have fiber, the upload speed is smaller. For example my download speed is 500 Mb/s, while my upload fluctuates around 40 Mb/s. Key word here is : fluctuates, so you do need enough overhead. My rule of thumb is 25%-ish. So in my case I’m good till 30 Mb/s. In my video I show what the quality setting mean in Mb/s. Ofcourse it can also be a bad cable or just the timing when you stream. Especially coax internet can become congested in the evenings. Play with the quality by lowering it to see if the errors go away. Hope this helped a bit ~Petra

    • @TechCondo
      @TechCondo  Před 2 lety +1

      They are the same. No differences in quality. However the web presenter does allow you to set a different resolution and framerate then your recording, the atem pro doesn’t.

    • @TechCondo
      @TechCondo  Před 2 lety +1

      The streaming quality will not be better with this compared to your mini. You can e.g. decrease the stream quality while still recording in top quality HD on your mini. Thia is because the record quality and stream quality on your mini are related to each orher. The added value is apart from this two fold: 1 - relevant on location, you don’t have to but your gear on a network you don’t trust apart from the web presenfer, 2 - nice monitoring solution
