It's funny how even the company website for the laser says almost nothing about the alleged color capability. It's a large page that goes into depth on many of the features of the system, but the supposed color capability is only mentioned at the top of the page and then is essentially forgotten.
It's mine too. This machine is so powerful. I engrave glass too, amazing. I very interesting on color engraving. I want push the test but I need to buy some stainless plate :)

I work with a 40w co2 laser at work and with what you have cut here, this thing is equal to it. Very impressive. Only thing is the speed is alot alower but hey, for the price, i might just have to get one for home jobs.

A lot of faux leather out there will contain polyvinyl chloride. You should never engrave or cut chlorine containing polymers with a laser.
Even if you are certain that that particular sample used did not contain PVC, you really should not be showing a video of cutting this material without making it clear to viewers that this particular issue exists and that they should always validate that the composition of their faux leather does not include PVC.
PVC is relatively innocuous. It doesn't react with anything in the human body. Yes you should wear a respirator, but only because you don't want to breathe in small particles of anything: the physical damage of small particles in your lungs is bad regardless of what the particles are. But PVC itself is pretty safe: hence why your drinking water comes in PVC pipes.
@@lol-xx9kn , is it really that difficult to google "can I cut vinyl-PVC in a laser" before you go and post a comment like that? Check what should be the 1st or 2nd hit when you google that (depending on whether you search with quotes) and look at the photos.
Yes, PVC is "relatively innocuous". The comment I made, however, was not about plumbing. The comment was about what happens to PVC when you hit it with a high powered laser (which does not generally happen to household plumbing) and about whether doing so produces any decomposition products (hint: it does) and whether such decomposition products might be dangerous to your equipment or to human health (hint: yes, they are).

7:21 Why didn´t you search how deep the engraving of metal can go, using high resolution (thin lines)? It seems as a promising way of cutting thin metal, if several passes are made... That would be the main use for me, since humans cut wood pretty precise and with much ease since millenia, while precise metal cutting still is in its infancy.
