  • So this video was kind of messy! Sorry for the wind. And cars. And out-of-breath-ness. And lighting changes.
But hey, its an update! :)
Real videos will come along soon-ish.

I went to England this past summer for 2 weeks and I loved it! Maybe I just didn't pay attention, but the food labels didn't seem much different to me. Of course, we ate out a lot, so that could be it. I loved it there. I didn't bolus for any meals and my blood sugar was constantly between 80 and 100 - I guess it was all the exercise I was getting walking everywhere. Enjoy England while you're there, and if you have the chance go visit the Heights of Abraham! Gorgeous.

Good video! You said something that i hadn't realized and that was about the diabetes club at school. My son is only 8 now, but he wants to go to Purdue like his dad! But his t1d worries me always, and him as well which is why he hesitates about wanting to leave home because we take care of him and his t1d care. Now i can tell him about the club!!! Be safe over there.

i completely get what you mean about how it is harder to get a definite carb reading on food because they put per 100g and you have to weigh and figure it out, it drives me insane regularly

In response to food labelling, if you have a smart phone, download the app (or there is a book) carbs and cals, it give pictures of portions of foods, it has really helped my "guesstimating" skills :)

I can't recall if it's a European Union thing or not but food labels should all show things per 100g and one other portioning. The other portioning is what ever they want though. Things like sweets or biscuts usually do per item/biscuit. Pizzas often do per 1/4 pizza and some do per pack which makes things easy. The annoying ones are when they say 'per serving' but don't share with you how big a serving is.
Mostly I take per 100g and then do the math on the weight, so long as they list it!

Where did you get your silicone id bracelet from? I love your vids. I have been in a diabetic funk for the past couple of months and, since viewing your vids over the past day or so, my spirits have been lifted...so back in the game I go...live-abetes it is. :)

Haha your English accent sounded Swedish lol. There isn't really a "British accent" as Britain is Englland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and all 4 accents are completely different lol. 10/10 for effort though :0)
