Excellent. Glad you popped the chassis. Check out the Sweetwater video with Reinhold Bogner, he goes into detail about the components he used. I think this is the best sounding of the three. Definitely getting one 👍
Sounds pretty good. I would love a collection of mini amps- Soldano mini, Diezel mini, Friedman mini and Bogner mini for office studio and with a good amp switcher to have ultimate work office break jam sessions.

All three use the same 30w power amp... it would be nice if Harley Benton or Joyo, etc. could build one of these mini amps, with channel switching, etc. and sell for about half the price of the Bogner, etc.
Nice review dude! 😊 By the way... You talk about use the mini head without the real Gabinete... Only use the "send" like the output and without any speaker cable connect... I haven't the manual and i can't find! So.. Whe use the amp without the speaker cable what's happened? There's a dummy load inside the amp??? Please, help to understand! 👍

Hi, to answer your question about the large external psu's that come with some gear, computers etc.
The reason they are not built in is that item does not need UL certification, required to legally sell electronics in 46 countries. So they use 3rd party external psu's that are already UL certified, thus keeping the builder from having to UL certify to their product. A UL certification is kinda expensive, $5k-$15k usd.

Yes, that's definitely one of the reasons. However, there are better ways to incorporate such a 3d-party PSU into a product. I have a video on Korg M3 somewhere here on this channel and they've literally hidden a laptop charger inside the synth. It's not visible from the outside and I was very surprised to find it when I opened the synth to fixing the touchscreen. Something goes wrong - and it's an easy swap.

Did having the power supply inside the head hold up over time?
I think it sounds OK. Kind of like a decent distortion pedal with a solid state power section. I don't hear a lot of similarly to an actual XTC though. I think for 299 I would still go for the marshall DSL20 head.
That distortion pedal thought .. same to me.
But the DSL20? Hmm .. not so convinced.

I had that pedal. I sold it but it wasnt bad. Im guessing the amp is similar

Not really. I guess the idea was to make it do one kind of sound well while keeping it simple

get the bogner synergy modules instead and you got the real thing very affordable... compared to this ridiculous transistor box, there is no comparison at all in my opinion.
Well the baritone sounded better. I think it's the cab's fault vs other videos. And a boost would help. Very surprised from what it is built like inside. Nice!!! Still I'd buy a bogner red and stick it in a good tube amp or ss even for low volume. I think the tech21 amps sound a million times better than this, peavey ss stuff as well.
A good test. unattractive sound in my opinion and certainly has nothing to do with Ecstasy. The NUX XTC OD effect is a brilliant clone of Ecstasy sound. This is just the beginning, but the character and sound are excellent.
