Lithuania's largest craft fair with the deepest tradition. Neither Estonia nor even Latvia has anything comparable to Vilnius St. Kasimir's fair ("Kaziuko muge" in Lithuanian) with its volume covering the entire city center, especially the old town, and over four centuries of history. The Kaziuki fair is one of the oldest, brightest and favorite traditional events in Lithuania. Held annually at the beginning of March, this fair is deeply rooted in Lithuanian culture and history. The fair celebrates the arrival of spring and presents a rich treasure of Lithuanian customs, crafts, food and folk traditions.
The Kaziuk Fair is not only a significant cultural event, but also a time when Vilnius residents and visitors to the city come together to learn about Lithuanian traditions and heritage. The fair embodies the spirit of the community and is a colorful and memorable introduction to Lithuanian culture, traditional and modern handicrafts. Ethnographically authentic handicrafts, talented modern consumer art, all kinds of delicious and interesting food and drink items are offered at very reasonable prices by hundreds of craftsmen not only from all over Lithuania, but also from neighboring countries. The frequent performances of folk musicians, singers and dancers in folk costumes enhance the already generally sublime party mood. The audience is of course numerous, but polite, the feeling is safe, no fighting.
