Hello. I am a canadian and have been to Lisbon/ cascais 4 times. In addition I have been to most other european countries from Ukraine to the Netherlands. Seville to London. For my money, Lisbon is a top 5 european destination. Amsterdam is still king.
Thanks Jean Paul
I am from Germany, I am 19 and currently I live and work in Lisbon 😂
love to see something from this city whilr being here.
Lisbon has a great vibe, doesn't it!
❤I loved the aerial views & overhead perspectives at beginning. I haven’t seen that on other travel vlogs and found it very helpful. Love your port series!
Hi, that's very kind, thank you. We have several more coming out over coming months!
Fantastic video matey. Really enjoyed it.
Great, many thanks!
Great video with lots of useful information, I have saved it to watch again before my cruise next year.
Have a great trip!
Great blog. Love your style 👏👏
Hi, many thanks indeed. More port guides to follow, over coming months
I live in Cascais and enjoyed your vlog. Good Job. 1 day is not enough though.
Hi there, Cascais is gorgeous. We were last there 3 years ago, and had an amazing time. You are right, 1 day is nowhere near enough!
Lisbon is charming. Love how close town central is to the port. I would definitely ride that rickety bus! Authentic experience right there. ❤🎉
Ha, ha that tram is double rickety!!
Thanks for all this info, especially how easy it is to get from the port to the city - maps can show the distance but not always the walk-ability! I will only have from ~9am to 3pm, so I am very happy to find out what I will be able to get to on my own!
Have a great Port stop there!
My wife and I are starting our cruise, on the NCL Viva, in Lisbon. We'll be there for 2 nights. Thanks for the tips. We'll definitely follow some of your advice👍🏻
You'll enjoy Lisbon 🙂
We had an overnight in Lisbon on a cruise a few years ago - one of the days we took a local train to Cascais (about 30-40 mins from memory) -the end of the line. Lovely little town and you can do a nice walk back along the coastal promenade to Estoril (or further if you want) from where you can catch the train back. We took the 28 tram and like you thought it was "okay" - tick the box, wouldn't do it again - they are photogenic. We took the 28 in the direction away from the port and the end of the line takes you up to the hill and to a graveyard 🙂. The historic lifts in the city look interesting but wouldn't recommend queuing for them - long wait for a very short ride. We found it quite easy to find a pathway up to the top of the lift.
Re safety - perhaps a different view - on our cruise we were away that several on our ship had been pickpocketed / bags slashed close to the port. This was the first we'd heard of trouble on our cruise around the med.
Hi, many thanks for your detailed feedback. Yes, fully agree that Cascais is a lovely suburb. We did it in on another occasion, and had a beautiful sunset dinner by the coast.
I'm saddened to hear your comments about pickpockets.... we've rarely felt uneasy during our various trips to Portugal, nor heard too many stories from others. I'm sure it does happen, but I do think it is far less than the Ramblas in Barcelona, and just about anywhere in Rome!
Thanks again
Love Lisbon! We were lucky (or unlucky in one way) to have two nights docked there as we missed Vigo prior to it due to bad weather. Still haven’t seen it all though.
Lisbon is indeed such a pretty spot. So many Cruises are going there these days, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to see the rest of it that you didn't catch this time!
Love Lisbon visited a fee years ago on Ventura & Azura 5 Med cruises in all don't do long haul anymore just local cruises we are only 20min from OPT in Sydney perfect.
Hi Diana, you've done a lot of lovely Mediterranean Cruises! I'm sure you seen a lot of gorgeous towns and cities!
Great information. QUESTION any suggestions on best place to taste Port and get a bottle?
Noted duty-free on the way out, but I would like to do tasting in town
Hi, Concerning port tasting,: we visited Taylors, and had a great time. They are in the Alfama district, so easy to walk to. You can find their information here:
www.taylor.pt/en/visit-taylors/lisbon-wine-shop-tasting-room
Lisbon has more souvenir shops than anywhere else😅.
Is that right?!
@@ritzytravelguide Its just my observation, when travelling alone, you must entertain yourself, but there are many.
Norwegian website states it will dock port of Lisbon is this a different port from the one you have shown? Thank you
Hi, yes that is different, that is further out, to the West. In the video, we docked at Santa Apólonia
A day isn't long enough in Lisbon... you didn't make it up to the castle. Not far above the miradouro you were in - best visited in the evening as quieter. And yes, Sintra is well worth the trip - and walkable despite people trying to sell you other ways of getting round
Hi, sadly we only had a limited amount of time in town, on the last couple of trips, so couldn't get to it all. But we really enjoy Lisbon. So will be back, for sure!
@@ritzytravelguide when we were there on 4 night break one of the Holland America Pinnacle ships sailed past Belem tower... at 11am. It was leaving early evening. Absurd timing! That's the problem with cruising...Agree on Time Out market - was excellent. Porto is getting one too
@andrewhalket4129 it's the bane of cruising.... Poorly scheduled port stops, that barely give you time to get off! We had that on a cruise in 2019, 4 hours in Barcelona!
