    Interesting that injector and ignition coil signals didn't drop at least at that capture. Love yours videos, not to long but with lot of information👍

    Have a 2013 Nissan Altima with long/hard starts. Mech says it is Cam/ or Crank sensor.... but he believes if you replace one or both you need to "reprogram" the car at dealership.....Is this true....Thanks Dan

    • @autoaidetechnicalservices3981
      @autoaidetechnicalservices3981  Před 2 lety

      Hi Dan. Generally, if only replacing sensor(s), there's no need for a reprogram. If your Altima is a 2.5 four cylinder, it would be a good idea to replace both cam and crank sensors together to avoid future reliability issues in that area. Good Luck!

    Hi there! So glad I found your video. My 2014 Altima is doing the EXACT same thing.
    The dealership Says that it isn't giving them any codes but they are thinking it's either the cam or crank sensor.
    Should I just replace both?

    • @tammysmith8545
      @tammysmith8545 Před rokem +1

      Same thing with my 14 altima; no codes either. replaced both cam and crank sensors and it is still the same!! If not worse.

      @@tammysmith8545 Had the same symptoms on 2013 2.5 SV. Dealer was useless in diagnosing; kept saying battery, air filter, starter, all of which I knew were fine. Would crank fine but long and sometimes stumble at startup then run perfect otherwise. Eventually did throw a code (only one in the 100k miles we had the car for) for something like low idle airflow. That lead me to check the MAF, also fine and clean, and then the electronic throttle body. I found the throttle body had a layer of oily residue (normal to have some accumulate over time from PCV system) all around the inside bore. This was causing the throttle plate to still seal closed even when the computer stepped it open a little bit for startup, and not letting the engine get enough air to start.
      Easy fix: Remove airhose from filterbox to throttlebody, gently open throttleplate with fingers (and don't drop anything in it!), wipe all around throttle bore with a clean rag removing all oily residue as far back as you can reach, reassemble. You might even be able to just use a throttle body spray cleaner, but would have a hard time getting it as clean.

      @@Catholic1391 few more things to check. I am going to replace the engine coolent sensor. Then the oil temp sensor. I know I am getting gas pressure so the furl pump should be okay. Mine is in storage until May so right now I cant do anything. Last resort is I will go to the dealer. Luckaly the shop foreman at the Nissan dearler works on all the 370zs in my area. I dont have an expensive scanner to track down the problems. What year is yours and how many miles?
