I've been told you should only use a 1quater of a tea spoon of cleaner ,is this correct ?

Nope, it won’t do anything to clean your machine. Read the instructions on the container, it will never say a 1/4 of chemical

      Ok thanks for that,
I bought a Lelit Bianco Machine from Jet Black and their cleaner .They have customer care instructions on how to clean the machine, mentions to use a quarter of a tea spoon .
I don't think this is enough, definitely will start
Using 1 teaspoon make a lot more sense.
      make a lot more sense

Does frequent use of the cleaning chemical degrade the seals/lubricant on on the E61 lever?

It can do, but getting it in an flushing it out correctly will be fine. It would take a lot of chemicals to wreck a home machine

I actually have to set a schedule. You said once each time you add a bag of beans. I assume you mean to the grinder. Those of us with one dose grinders would be doing this after each drink. Based on your description. I clean once a week.
Can you compare your cleaner to biocaf? biocaf appears to be decent. It is free of dangerous chemicals. I still flush out the cleaner but feel safe to know any chemical left should not be harmful.

Each time you buy a bag and weight out your single doses, it has to be regular, that’s the key. Sorry I have not come across that brand of chemical, any will do, Cafetto is a major brand in Oz doing a great product
