    So the new Sabvoton SVMC72150 has arrived along with the CT-22 dashboard/speedometer from QS motor. I've had to take the bike apart to get the controller in but that gives be a good chance to make some changes and do a timelapse of the whole process 😁 Apart from that, I haven't been up to that much as I haven't been able to buy any parts so I'll show you what I've got in the pipeline instead. Enjoy!

    Dash looks cool. Does it have built in tell tale lights for indictors etc?

  • @Full_Throttle_no_Brakes

    Many many of the LED headlights and other led bars from aliexpress support up to 80v, So you don't need buck CONVERTER. Unless you have something specific that you know has to be 12v. I bought many leds from there, on the ad says 12v but I connected straight on my 18s battery and it works fine.
    I have a question about your wheels size. Between 17, 18 and 19 inches. Which one is best for a high power application on a common bicycle frame?
    Love your build!
    Cheers

    • @EverythingEbikeChannel
      @EverythingEbikeChannel  Před 3 lety

      Even if the headlight was 80v, the dashboard and indicators require 12v. With the wheel sizes it depends what you want. 17" gives better acceleration and 19" gives better top speed but I don't actually know how much of a difference you would feel. And 18" is a halfway house.

    Hello, great job and great videos ! I actually building an Ebike my self, Enduro Frame, sabvoton 72150, qs motor 205 5000w and 20s20p batterie (LGMJ1). I waiting for the controller and display (same as yours). I was wondering about the key switch that you use, do you wire it directly to your battery + or do you use a mofset ?

    • @EverythingEbikeChannel
      @EverythingEbikeChannel  Před 3 lety +1

      Good to hear someone else building one! It connects between battery positive and the e-ignition wire sabvoton. I think it turns off the power to the 5v rail (not 100% sure) so basically disables the controller and instantly cuts power to the motor so can be used like a kill switch. On my old bike, I used 4 mosfets in parallel to connect the batteries but that becomes a bit more of a challenge with this much current and the BMS can do all that anyway.

    • @krycesheppard5150
      @krycesheppard5150 Před 3 lety

      Thank you for your answer, I was afraid that wiring a 12v switch to the battery + will destroy the switch (I saw someone that put a mofset between the battery and the switch to avoid this. Personally I would like to use a button (start engine) to fire up the controller.

      You could use the switch to connect the 5v and sensor wires on the connector which will trigger regen when switch is pressed. Those connectors are meant for a 3 wire throttle but can be modded like I said.

      I wasn't able to fix my old controller unfortunately but if I had a reflow oven I might have been able to solder the microcontroller in properly. My old LCD I used on V2 worked with the VESC so I'd have to reprogram it which would be quite hard to get it to do the odometer. Also this one looks much cooler!

    Hi How are you ? I have just come across your channel and would like to ask some questions. 1- Can you connect two hub motors to a sabvoton controller ? And if yes How? 2- if Not possible how do you connect two Sabvoton Controllers to a single Throttle ? I await your reply, Thank you in advance.

    • @EverythingEbikeChannel
      @EverythingEbikeChannel  Před 10 měsíci

      You could connect two sabvotons to a single throttle just by putting the 5v, signal and gnd wires from the throttle connectors in parallel then connecting them to the throttle itself. Two motors to one controller won't work as the hall sensor signals will be different for each one and will muck up the sabvoton. I believe you can get some models of sabvoton with a CAN bus interface too so could digitally pass on the throttle signal but not sure of the details on that...

    I just got my Sabvoton 72150 and got it all hooked up, but no matter what combination of halls and phase wires I do they read in the order 1>3>2>6>4>5 or 1>5>4>6>2>3 and fail the hall test with fail3 which means incorrect hall/phase wire combo. These are my hall voltages with a color matched setup: (and no I don't know why yellow is 5v and green/blue are 3v, maybe the Chinese used 2 different sensor types???)
    1=yellow 5v
    5=yellow 5v, blue 3v
    4=blue 3v
    6=green 3v, blue 3v
    2=green 3v
    3=yellow 5v, green 3v
    The Sabvoton is looking for the following to be in the right order:
    1=yellow 5v
    2=green 3v
    3=yellow 5v, green 3v
    4=blue 3v
    5=yellow 5v, blue 3v
    6=green 3v, blue 3v
    as you can see the pattern doesn't match up, my motor reads 1-2-1-2-1-2... but the Sabvoton wants 1-1-2-1-2-2... I have no idea what to do any advise would be much appreciated!!
    Motor(standard direct drive hub) is known working on another sensored controller.

    • @EverythingEbikeChannel
      @EverythingEbikeChannel  Před 3 lety

      First thing that comes to mind is hall sensor failure. They should all be reading 5v and that's certainly what the sabvoton is expecting. I don't know much about what order the hall sensors are meant to trigger in but you can get devices that test if they are working correctly like this amzn.to/2PbmBgL or there are articles on how to do it yourself ebikes.ca/documents/HallSensorTestingFinal.pdf

      @@EverythingEbikeChannel Thanks, I have messaged the seller as well and if they don’t know whats happening I’ll get a tester. I do find it strange that they arn’t all 5v but the Sabvoton is definitely reading the signal regardless and can be seen in the MQCON software that’s how I know what pattern the Sabvoton is seeing. This pattern is very consistent and repeats around the whole wheel. I have since compared the phase pattern with another similar hub motor on my friends bike and the pattern is the same. I am hoping I just have some setting wrong and that it is an easy fix otherwise I’ll have to put the old controller back on for this summer.

    • @mitchellwilson12354
      @mitchellwilson12354 Před 3 lety

      @@EverythingEbikeChannel I didn’t have a chance to hook the Sabvoton up the the other motor, I just used a voltmeter to measure the halls by probing the back of the hall connector and slowly turning the wheel with that bikes controller powered up. That motor had the same repeating pattern of colors as mine. The halls were all around 4ish volts when powered with the supply being around 5v.
      I still haven’t gotten my motor to pass the hall test but I have found a combination of phase/halls that seems to run ok it starts smoothly from a stop even with low throttle and some resistance from my break pads. I’m just waiting on the weather to give it a quick test drive to see if it heats up real bad or not which should tell me if everything is working correctly.
