I was contracting in Mildenhall in the 90s and the factory was adjacent to the airbase and omfg, when this took off the entire building shook! I got to see it take off twice and again the ground shook and I swear once it was off the ground it was only seconds before it was gone, a seriously impressive exhibition! Thanks again Mr Guardia. 👍
There is an a12 blackbird at the space and rocket center in Huntsville and I remember running around under it as a kid in the early 90s. We always thought it was an sr71. There is another a12 at the southern museum of flight on Birmingham. It's funny I've seen 2 of the 7 remaining a12s and when I was a kid I didn't realize how special they were

What they stated in the video as how President Johnson announced the plane is incorrect. President Johnson called the plane the “SR-71”, when it’s real designation was RS-71, for “reconnaissance strike”. Nobody knew of the existence of the A-12 until 1982 when the Oxcart program was declassified.
