I'm sorry for your pain. Best wishes to you.
Sorry to hear that, Chelsea. Take care of you and keep smiling. 😁
Hi Chelsea, I do hope you heal quickly. I don't want to be negative, but as an older adult (63) with spastic CP. I do hope you take care of your joints. I was always told my CP wouldn't get worse as I aged. I used to be very limber, strong and walked everywhere with my crutches. A little over 20 years ago I started seeing my body change, I was having more joint discomfort in my feet (ankles), knees and especially my hips and wrists. I have severe carpal tunnel in both hands, which now limits my walking with my crutches and just getting up and down from seated. Surgery will be limiting for me as I heal and because I do have to use crutches to walk in my home, the carpal tunnel will return... 😢 When I am out and about,, I use my electric "Fold and Go" wheelchair which has been a blessing. I can no longer push myself in my manual wheelchair, that I use until a year ago.
I now have signs of arthritis in both wrists, ankles and hips.
As you said, many doctors don't know how to treat the various ways CP affects the individual and the way we move. Even therapy at times has agrivated my joints and muscles.
I'm still strong and hopeful life gets better as I age and I learn how to handle this body.
I wish God's blessings on you. You are a bright spot in this world. Take care. Annette
I feel your pain. I recently broke my kneecap and I know what you're going
Oh No, Get well soon. You are an inspiration to a lot of folks. I am 57 and also have CP so I do relate to your content. Like you I am as active as I can be.
I am very sorry to hear you have a broken kneecap! I hope it heels quickly, and that you get all them help you need!! I am interested in any subject you cover in your videos!! Take care!!
Wishing you a Speedy Recovery!!
I dislocated my knee once and it was easily the worst pain I've ever experienced. Sending you positive vibes for a speedy and full recovery.
Hang in there Chelsea! Hope you can get your knee figured out and feeling better soon! 🙂
Sorry to hear about your knee cap. Keep smiling and you'll be ok. As an ex HS athlete I beat up the body pretty well and have had a few surgeries since. The techniques have come a long way now with faster recovery and much less pain. Don't stress out about the unknowns. Take things as they come. You'll figure it out and will be alright. Hang in there kiddo.
Even to her issues, she is so positive, and humble, she breaks my heart ❤
Sorry to hear about your knee. Know that your followers are praying for your speedy recovery. We love seeing your adventures.
Best wishes on a speedy recovery! Keep smiling girl!
Chelsea, I'm very sorry to hear about your patella. I. think you are a very courageous woman and applaud your efforts to raise awareness for differently abled folk. At 71 years old I'm joining those ranks. Thanks so much for sharing.
Hope you feel better soon, and stay positive!
With her conditions. Broken knee caps aren't uncommon
May your recovery be swift and heal completely, and be grateful you didnt have my dad growing up, "Broken kneecap ?, walk it off !"
Prayers for you and for a speedy recovery. I also hope you have a great day
So sorry to hear, Chelsea!!
Praying for the Best Outcome.
God Bless. 🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
🙏🏾 I pray your recovery goes well. You are an inspiration for a lot of us. Thank you for being such a inspiration 💜💕💜.
I have a walker now at 53 and it's all because of knee and foot pain. I never used any mobility aid until 2019. Be strong honey.
So sorry it happened! Be strong, as you are! You're a trooper and I'm SOOOOO proud to know you! Feel better and press on! Your strength is the most impressive aspect that you glow with! 😁
I'm sorry to hear about your knee Chelsea. I am sending my prayers to you for a quick and painless recovery. I would hate to see something that would diminish your infections and intoxicating smile for even one second. 🥰
That’s a bugger Chelsea, I am sorry to hear your knee cap is broken. I do hope it is something that time and no more than strapping the knee/leg will assist with healing. Surgery is certainly something that should be avoided if unnecessary. Thank you for sharing, your posts and not only a ray of sunshine in this world right now, but also very helpful and inspirational to not only those with CP, but also to people like myself who while not having CP, have other issues. Seeing you get out and about has inspired me to do the same. Thank you so very much! 👍👍
Really sorry to hear this. Sounds like a stress fracture that rest will take care of, but if it is something more serious, do what you have to to get it fixed and rehabbed. Follow the surgeon's and physical therapist's advice in great detail. It's so important to get that injury healed right, or it could cause bigger troubles down the road. Meanwhile, stay off of it as much as possible... For videos, maybe give us more of what you're doing here... because you are also an excellent presenter and very easy to listen to. Also, ask your regular doctor about Calcium supplements.. 30 is not too young to begin boosting the vitamin D3 a bit. Good luck, looking forward to good news.
Things happen BUT if anyone can recover from this its you! Keep the faith and take care 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤
Hi Chelsea, I live in Australia and I see a specialist doctor for my CP called a Rehabilitation Physician. I'm not sure if they're known as a different title in the USA though. If you see a Rehabilitation Physician, they can help you manage the symptoms and other conditions associated with CP. The Rehabilitation Physician could refer you to other specialists such as an Orthopaedic surgeon (doctor who treats conditions of the musculoskeletal system including fractures) who has experience with treating people with CP. I go to my Rehabilitation Physician for anything to do with my CP, including botox injections to treat my spasticity. A Rehabilitation Physician will be able to analyse your gait (walking pattern) and may be able to tell you what led to your broken knee cap and will be able to prevent future issues with your knees (and the rest of your body in general) and refer you to other appropriate healthcare professionals. They'll also be able to help manage your pain better. I also go to an Orthopaedic surgeon who has experience treating people with CP to monitor and treat the problems I have with my feet and ankles. I hope your knee gets better soon.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
As someone who has a mild case of CP myself I can imagine the body stress you have as well. Being 41 now it's a good bit of managing it and stretching as much as possible. I wish you a quick recovery stay strong 💚
My youngest sister has had knee problems over the past 5 years, and finally got things sorted out with an orthopedic surgeon that was recommended to her. The best thing about the orthopedic surgeon was that he gave her a wide range of options, and could tell her what to expect in the future. This helped to relax her quite a bit. Good luck. 🌟
thank you for sharing, her story gives me hope! I'm really really hopeful I can find a good orthopedic that's familiar with CP. appreciate you!
So sorry to here this, I'm praying for a rapid recovery, lots of hardER work ahead... I just broke the plateau off of my right tibia on Jan 3rd, its a LONG road.. BUT you're a strong woman, you'll get there...
I will pray for your quick recovery!
A good friend of mine had CP. I always was his friend and I wish you the very best that life has to give. I'll be praying for you .
Chelsea- Please take care and get well. May God bless and heal you!
Get well soon Chelsea. All will be well ❤
Hey there, beautiful person! I am a person who has had knee trauma and the issue of hypermobility in many of my joints. I've also been a rehabilitation nurse with severe brain injuries and mental health with veterans. Now, to the point. Before I injured my knee in the Navy, I had a condition called Chondromalacia, a subluxation of the kneecap. My left kneecap would move towards the outside of my leg every time I flexed it. This was also compounded by a thigh muscle called the vastus medialis, which is on the inside of the thigh, which was essentially loose. The importance of this muscle is to help your leg not to become "knock kneed" which occurs a lot with gait issues. The result is that the outer portion of the kneecap grinds against the shin (tibia) and can develop a carving away of the kneecap. The condition is frequently called "housemaid's knee." Because of the wearing away of part of the kneecap, fractures can occur with little or no trauma and can come from stressors on the knee.
Of course, I don't have x-rays of your knee or x-ray eyes. It will take an orthopedic surgeon to make a proper evaluation, but it may be a clue how this happened and how it might have been generated from your walking gait.
One of the rehabilitation things I believe you can fully expect is thigh strengthening exercises (probably like you've been doing) that specifically address the muscles needed to build up the knee cage.
You are a wonderful person who I really admire, and I hope many join your cause to reduce the stigma of disabilities. My very favorite nursing work was in psychosocial rehabilitation, which involves learning how to prevent a disability limit and define you as a person. The world needs a dire education on this and recognizes that we who are disabled are not "damaged goods" and are very real people in every sense of the word. We are not to be judged by what someone "thinks they know about us," especially when they are unfortunately ignorant about us.
Good luck, good lady! I have been following you for a while, and I'm bragging about you every time I get the chance❤
Watching this video and hearing your words absolutely brought me to shambles. I hope you heal up quickly. My prayers are with you and my spirit is with you too. You’ll get there we all will.
Me and my tuxedo cat Sox are wishing you the best and speedy recovery, I've been lucky after 55 yrs , no broken bones , I've fallen out of trees , bikes , car crashes, accidents on the flightline when I was in the usaf for 20yrs, only major thing was a recent ruptured appendix , that almost killed me , love your positivity Chelsea and strong will , new york
Prayers for a quick healing!!
I’m sorry to hear about your broken knee cap & hope that it is able to heal & be taken care of without surgery. I love & admire your positivity even when things aren’t always the best. You’re truly a beautiful & strong person inside and out.
Never give up! Keep thinking positive and keep posted, take good care.
So sorry to hear about your kneecap, Chelsea. I hope you heal and feel better with a quick recovery. I always look forward to seeing your videos. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Good luck 🍀 I’ve had a couple of bad motorcycle accidents and both my knees have been broken along with other major injuries TBI 😢 I wish you the best and as always your Amazing 🤩
Oh no!!! I will be praying for you! I’m so sorry!!!
Sorry for your troubles and pain. Hope you get it resolved and get it corrected.
After 8 knee operation covering 35 years ending with both being replaced, I have a lot of sympathy for anyone with knee issues.
I truly hope you get it worked out and put it behind you.
God bless you young lady. ❤
Please get well soon. You are dearly loved here! ❤
Chelsea, please 🙏 take care of yourself! I am new to your channel, and have enjoyed watching you overcome so many obstacles! You inspire people not to give up...
When one leg has issues, the healthy one has to overcompensate. It sucks. As you get older, it becomes legacy issues. Hope things get figured out and a plan comes together to fix/rehab your knee.
I get what you mean about a body part doing all the work...my tendions on the top of my feet work (the one that allows people to point their foot down) acts like a muscle not a tendon doing all the work of balance and lifting! I am so screwed if they go out.... I wish you the best! Such a blessing you found a specislist that knows about C.P. in adults! Had over 18 operations and evolved with each one but for a positive outcome.
prayers for a speedy recovery my friend!
Sorry to hear that. Get well soon. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sorry for your pain, wish you a fast recovery..
I am so sorry to hear this news Chelsea! It must be a horrible experience. I have never broken anything, but I have a lot of debilitating illnesses sadly. Feel better soon!
Hi Chelsea. I happened to stumble across the short video clip of you showing people the way you get up from your Couch and I had instant compassion for you and I decided to become a new subscriber to your channel.
Seeing that short clip made me want to take your hand and help you get up 😊
You got this .... Prayers for you
I sincerely hope you feel better and wish you a speedy recovery!!! 😊
Oh no! Heal quickly. I’m glad to hear your silver lining attitude, as always :)
I’ve broken my right kneecap before and had to have inner and outer meniscus surgery and it’s painful. Your amazing as well as beautiful . You probably have a higher pain tolerance than should be allowed . To that
C-Bear I hope you get the proper care for it. You never fail to bring a warmth to my heart and a smile to my face . Sending love and light, Your Amazing
Good sharing😘👏👍have a bautiful day
I am so sorry to hear that. Having an injury like that is a major concern for me; having MS I don't have the greatest sensation in my legs so I don't know how long it would take me to notice something was more off than my regular disability.
I can relate a bit to this. Years ago, I had a fractured tibia due, I think, to how my weight was balanced because of my CP. That was very painful. I don’t remember if I had a surgery pertaining to that specific issue or not. I’ve had many different surgeries throughout my life, both CP-related and not. I hope and pray you’re not in too much pain or discomfort, and that the doctor you’re going to see can help you to get to the other side of this issue. Stay positive and keep going. You’ll get through it :).
Sending good vibes to you for a speedy recovery.
Chelsea, hi I just saw your video on how you get up from your couch. You simply touched my heart and a cord with me. In that I have had a condition since I was 14, I’m 67. Both of us have conditions that can be delimitating if you let it truly effect you. In closing Chelsea 🎉 you have a great positive outlook on life. Keep it up 👍
So sorry to hear about your knee. I am watching you because I have CP and I feel like you at the Doctor's office when I have to explain my disease and my limitations. Good luck with your knee.
Hi Ms Chelsea Bear, I've listened to this video as I have been following your channel for some time. I also have seen you walking at Tampa's Lowrey Park by the river walk area. I pray for you to receive a complete healing for your knee condition. I also ask all faith based christian viewers to pray with me this 12th day of June 2023. I pray your pain will totaly leave your body. I pray in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth Amen. Watching from ShadyHills, Florida.USA.🇺🇸🤗
Best wishes to you! You are such an inspiration!!!

I’m devastated for you, you’ll get through this though, i think the key to this is as you did say , getting some health professional who has experienced CP and fractured patella also, your videos are amazing not only does your smile light up the room , it lights up the world.

I hope you are doing well and have a speedy recovery
So sorry to hear. Praying for you.
I'm wishing you a speedy and secessfull recovery.
So sorry you have to deal with this. I've had a couple knee surgeries, and it's no fun. Hopefully you'll be able to find someone that can help with your CP issues as far as walking and movement. I'm no doctor, but I'm almost certain the proper therapy or braces could help you walk smoother and easier.
That is a huge bummer, but just a hurdle on the freeway of life. I know you'll overcome this 😉😉
Hope you get well soon and I will keep you in my prayers.
Sorry to hear about your injury, be patient and heal properly. Luv ya, Kiddo😊
God bless you Chelsie. I know you inspire so many others. I am blessed to have found you here and send ❤
