Beau already said that this show wont connect to the MCU because Feige told him that this series is part of a "different multiversal tree". Even though that's not how the multiverse works in comics or real life, the point is X-Men 97 won't connect to any live action movies.

I hate how many channels keep pushing the idea that 97 will cross over with the live action shows/movies.
Why? That will ruin a lot of the momentum and stoeytelling the show can do

@@keasbeytcg Yeah, I don't get the main appeal of it. It's not that crazy of a prediction, anyway. If we were talking about a TV show connecting with the MCU around the 2010s, then yes, but currently, I think most people are burnt out and honestly want things to stay separated.
I personally want X-Men 97 far away from the mcu as possible and just tell its own story all together and not connect everything in one universe.
But everything connects in the comics

Everyone missed a very important Easter Egg....STRYFE IS COMING TOO! When Mr. Sinister was fighting Jean, he said he was waiting for them to bring him what he wanted most...Cable. He wants to clone Cable, which in the comics is STRYFE.
That also is another sign Apocalypse is coming.

Remember, in the OG series we saw Charles's darkness? I can't remember the episode but he said it was all rage, almost the same way they described Phoenix in Last Stand. It appeared in front of Scott and tried to kill him until Jean helped him realize it was in his mind. They could connect back to this and have it be the Xavier part of Onslaught. Yet another stroke of continuity genius. This show doesn't miss these opportunities so I think they'll do it.
I think that story arc inspired the Onslaught storyline in the comics because they're very similar, especially in the beginning.

The episode was called "Xavier Remembers". I also believe that was meant to be Onslaught.
On Disney+ that episode is listed right after "The Sanctuary" a story that is also a loose adaptation of the same comic that the latest episode of X-Men 97 was adapted from ( X-Men #25 (vol 2.). After that episode of "Xavier Remembers" There's a story titled "Family Ties" where we learn of Magneto's relation to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, a relation that was central to the comic book arc "Blood Ties".
Not his skeleton was removed just the the adamantium as it is grafted to his skeleton as shown in that last scene.

Xavier is going to become Onslaught during the events of season 2, Storm is going to be become the new de facto leader of the X-men after Cyclops leaves. Rogue is banished from The X-men due to her betrayal and allowing Magneto to nearly destroying the world while looking after the catatonic Magneto now called Joseph.
It'll also give the series the opportunity to bring new characters onto the board to flesh out the world.
If that's true, then Sunspot will be too. Naw, I don't think Rogue will be banished. She might take time off, like Wolvie will and like Storm did. Or join Cyclops's new team because he's had it with Prof. X as well. If she doesn't stay with Magneto, she'll probably return to Genosha to take care of her kind. Will be exciting to find out.
I just hope they don’t use Time Travel as a “Reset Button” for the season.

I really hope we get gambit as the horseman of death, he was so OP in that arc and gambit was always my favorite...
I was in college back in the 80s and had a bad at local comics shop and the X-Men was my favorite title, during the Chris Clairmont era. But I stopped reading. Why? Because I was being asked to buy too many titles in order to keep up with the plot. And it wasn't just the different X-Men/X-Factor/New Mutants stories. It was also that the X-Men story line would often wade into other titles, some I cared about and some I didn't. With that bulging bag I had to buy every week on a college kids' budget, I finally just stopped reading altogether and didn't really pick the X-Men up again until X-Men The Animated Series in 1992. That along with the Tick and Looney Tunes were the last Saturday Morning cartoons I watched, even though I was well into my twenties.
The modern MCU has had the same problem and finally the powers at be have realized this. it is possible to make too much. I too have not finished Moon Knight and I haven't even started Secret Invasion. The main reason I began X-Men '97 was my affinity for the old program so I gave it a chance and it's been the first appointment viewing for a Disney+ show in a while.
They should make a new comic accurate avengers show set in the ‘97 universe

@@computron100 I agree honestly. I mainly meant, instead of doing the reboot of United they stand which imo sucked they should just do a brand new one. But yeah honestly the best would be sticking with x men and if anything have crossover episodes like their cameos in season one

Onslaught will definitely still be Xavier because his powers would be drastically different in Magneto and we'vs seen Charles slowly watch his dream crumble and his students turn against him.
My thought is that we'll see Onslaught lead to AvX and then House of M.
I'd love to see Age of Apocalypse but idk how that fits in. We're more likely to see the story about the 12. That way we can get some closure to the Summers family drama, we can bring back Remy as the Horseman of Death and possibly make Wolverine into the Horseman of War so he can get back his adamantium.
Demayo has already said the homework for the finale is to watch the Star Trek Next Gen episode of where they are caught up in a time loop. They have to work out how to break free of it. So I'm guessing this is where Bishop will turn up. As for Apocalypse, he said he was working on a 5 year series arc, so I'd guess it's where it will end.
Don't forget how kids used to put their money together so they can read All the comics And story lines
As a teen in the 90s, all the X, Spider, Superman, Batman weekly titles are exactly what got me in as a lifer on comic books. I didn’t find it confusing, while do agree that it forced me to buy all the related titles. But that was part of the appeal for me; it was the challenge of figuring it all out. As the titles branched out to other characters and titles, I began getting those as well, and that led to going back in time and some combination of collections, comic shops, libraries and learning decades-worth of comic stories and history continuing into other imprints and publishers.
What killed it all for me except for outside-comic mediums was New-52. The combination of New 52 and 2010s delays and filler issues across all publishers was pretty much where I quit. I tried reading things then and just kept getting disappointed. To this day, I still check solicitations, check some youtubes and forums about what’s going on. I even have my Marvel and Comixology subscriptions that almost never get used. But there really is no desire any more like there was for comic book Wednesdays as there used to be and for the most part any stories in the last twenty years, I have no “expert” feeling about like I used to have. My interests comic-wise seem to just reside in the shows and films now.

2. she may have the same power set as Magneto, but in terms of levels, he blows past her by a nautical and country mile.
Charles was not trying to wipe mine. He was trying to hijack his mind to fix earth magnetic field that was until cyclops stop Xavier because gold team was not ready.

I have a feeling that the finale is gonna be X-Men, Avengers, The Incredible Hulk, F4, Spider-Man and Dr. Doom vs Onslaught.
I want Marvel Studios to do Ema Frost justice. Her appearance and portrayal in X-Men First Class was such an an insult to the character. She is so powerful and interesting as an individual. I hope they do it on this show, starting by getting rid of her original outfit, which they always make her appear with.

It might mean nothing, but Kelsey Grammer was in "Cause and Effect." Just seems a little bit of a coincidence, with him playing Beast and all. What's the connection? I have no clue.
Pointing at era-appropriate Bloodties instead of far more recent XvA gets you a like. And your idea on how to incorporate X-Men '97 already having done the mindwipe visual before the adamantium scene instead of after is quite inspired. Although I seriously doubt Magneto is already Onslaught, but it may well have put mental things in motion. I'd much rather have Age of Apocalypse instead, though. 5:55 The "perhaps" is doing all the work here to keep me from removing my like again.
My favorite scene in Blood ties was when Sersi fought Exodus, Eternal vs. Omega level mutant.
I think there is always been an opportunity to bring these X-Men to the MCU, but the show is so good so if it’s too complicated, just leave them alone
There is one thing you are all forgetting, the fact that these characters we have known for littoral years. Their histories their backstories are all documented in the original series, so as far as it goes X97 has the biggest character build up for the Xmen specially in its own universe. Now to look at the opposite scale, the MCU did so well with the infinity saga because thee character got stories told over time (Multiple movies), through to the end of the infinity Saga. The first few shows where good because we delved deep into already established but not focused on characters. Wanda, Vision, Loki, Falcon, Winter Soldier. All the stuff after that has been garbled and pushed out of the Disney wheelhouse expecting the same treatment as all those that came before and its failing because of it. (Just my two cents)
This has been the best thing since Loki. I can not wait for the finale.

Love the conversation being had here. Part of me thinks that we as fans partially have something to do with the studios pushing so far towards connectivity and easter eggs, we like to get really hung up on these details sometimes and overlook just straight up bad storytelling. Even worse is when we chose to highlight the easter eggs MORE than a good story, i find so many channels do this nowadays. So many creators focusing on the 'secrets' and 'hidden details' yet avoid simply calling a project what it is.
Feels like they are playing it safe with the comic storylines and spicing in the movies as a way to safely bridge into the live action XMen that's not gonna fail like the fox men

I disagree that the audience doesn't care about connectivity. In fact, I WANT connectivity. The story doesn't have to be 5 stars. The story just doesn't have to drag on forever and shouldn't only have high points at middle and end of the movie. Xmen 97 moves at a very good pace. Each episode has five or six high points to talk about. Compare that to the average show in the past 10 years where you're forced to watch 5 or 6 slow paced, hour long episodes before you get to a high point in the series.
Once you make two good (not great) series and find a way to connect the two, you have me hooked.
It's the most impressive writing feats I've seen in a long time, to sew the best elements from the comics into a cohesive thread that runs from the end of the original series into (we assume) the X-MEN's entry into the MCU.

It would be great to see the xmen fantastic four, and avenger working together to fight onslaught just like for a future season we could see apocalypse as the main villain along with holocast abyss , mikhail rasputin , the living monolith , and his army of anubis / mummy Robots.

The build up to Onslaught in the comics was amazing. When he actually showed up it went down hill real quick though.
His kind of sort of return in Krakoa (I think it was Way of X with Nightcrawler and Legion) was pretty interesting though. He was like a mental virus that was the embodiment of self hatred and fear and general bad things. That'd be fun, but as a cartoon they really need a big guy to beat up.
In the Phoenix Saga, there was this evil manifestation of Xavier that can be brought in Steroids after the Magneto Mindwipe and be the amalgam of him and Magnus' evil persona.

I really don't think this iteration of the X-Men will be the same X-Men we will get in Deadpool & Wolverine and Secret Wars. I really think this version of the X-Men will just be their own thing and if the Avengers show up in a potential season two or in an animated film that the creative team is campaigning for, the Avengers in that story will just be from the 97 universe.
Maybe Bastion wasn’t just torturing him and keeping him alive for no reason but he was experimenting on him leading to his transformation to Onslaught?! 🤯

Untold Tales of Spider-Man was amazing! I was even a fan of the clone saga and the main books, but it was still my favorite each month.
It also managed to do the job of connecting what happened to the Lee and Ditko run when there wasn’t really a good way to go back and read those books.
It’s proudly on my Marvel shelf right between the first and second Amazing Spider-Man Omnibuses.
it would be funny if the '97 X-Men just land in the MCU and they start out of their back foot, not being able to find a newspaper to parse out what year they're in and freaked out by smartphones
The thing about the age of apocalypse is that it probably won’t fit now due to magneto just leaving the X-men. Not to mention Wolverine has just stabbed him and Xavier tried to wipe his mind. During age of apocalypse magneto is leading the X-men

Thaat avengers tv show isnt really cannon to the X-Men 97 universe, it was sort of made to replace it, hence Hawkeye acting so similar to Wolverine character-wise
My prediction is we end with Apocalypse and his new Horsemen, Gambit as Death, Madelyne Pryor as famine, Archangel as war, and maybe a up powered Leech as pestilence

I'm really excited to see the Season 1 finale, I do love that this is leading up to X-Men vs. Avengers with the easter eggs of other Marvel heroes being involved in the X-Men storyline and now I totally see that the moments of Wolverine & Deadpool might be connected to the season's finale. I do would love to see Rogue be the one to take away Magento's powers after she reconciles with her own feelings and becomes a good guy to help Xavier and the X-Men defeat Magento. I'm really liking these theories, plus Gambit becoming Death for Apocalypse might also be a good storyline for the series with the X-Men especially for Rogue to face their former friend.
My personal prediction: We will get a Wolverine animated mini-series out of this.
Also, I really hope one of the major themes of the finale is the hubris of Xavier and the Professor having to admit his mistakes.

Avengers vs X-Men was teased all season ? The only tease I saw was Rogue vs Captain America. I don't think it was any more than that
I don't know if AoA will happen. I was lucky enough to meet the Liefelds a few years ago. They told me that the One Man's Worth episodes were already finished and waiting to air. Scott Lobdell saw it, liked it, and asked them if he could use their ideas to create Age of Apocalypse. A lot of the characters in the episode are carbon copies of what's in the books. Strangely enough, those episodes waited so long to air they didnt reach audiences until after AoA was already on shelves. Seeing that it's already been done, I don't know if they will want to do a retread. But if they do I will probably love it and be really happy to see an animated Legion.

Very low chance of this happening, but what if the Prime Sentinels lead to the Reavers being created. Next season could cover the outback series from the comics.
If this leads to an Onslaught saga, it should lead to a hero’s reborn which would be a way to bring the cartoon into the movies. Although I suppose it would be more of a mutants reborn. I’m conflicted as I want the cartoon to continue but also want mutants in the MCU. The cartoon is also a great way to introduce a lot of characters that could be used in the MCU without needing too much backstory.

I kinda feel like Endgame set the bar a little too high going forward because now on the one hand people are saying there's too much content to keep up with and they want more standalone projects, then on the other hand you get people complaining that there's no real direction or overarching narrative to the MCU other than 'multiverse' now. They really just can't win.

Connectivity is greatly appreciated. So I strongly disagree with the Guy and Girl on the panel. Character is needed as well of course but don't pretend as if people aren't into hunt. I love the searching out and piecing it all together for a good story read. Some people aren't willing to do the Homework and that's their lost.
