What's the most fascintaing about this is... How much in control she is. Where Idina seems to be at the peak of her abilities Floor is just toying with the delivery. This is obviously a child's play for her. She isn't even trying to go for it. She eats this stuff for lunch and it shows.

So... I'm probably going to take some heat for this... Can we please stop saying Floor is better than everyone else or marginalizing, in any way, other people's work? In this forum (a load of Floor's fans) it really doesn't mean or do anything except cut the other musicians down. And Idina Menzel is an extremely talented woman and a tremendous singer and performer.
Floor is a lover of music and musical art. I bet she loves Idina's rendition. But she's also a performer, and loves making us happy. We need to be careful we don't discourage her from doing things like this because those two elements (music lover and performer) are probably already in heavy conflict with nearly everyone proclaiming how much better she is than either Annette or Tarja. They're all awesome. Of the three, Floor is my preference, but we should not diminish the others to create the illusion that Floor is better. She frankly doesn't need it.

I love watching her live performances of Defying Gravity, Let It Go etc. Honestly, I'm a huge fan of both women, whom are both extremely talented in their own right. Idina is strong and has that classical broadway voice, Floor is fierce and striking which derives from the metal scene. I didn't intend my comment to try and drive a wedge between the two, because they're both different and frankly awesome. Just a light-hearted comment suggesting Floor is taking on a classic song, and putting her spin on it.

Along with Floor's amazing voice is her fantastic expressive delivery. The head nods, the hand gestures, the eyes (OMG the eyes). Not just an amazing singer but an amazing performer, even without a live audience.
This song is so incredibly hard to sing, and yet Floor makes it sound so easy, which is the mark of a true supertalent!!! The original singer, Idina, tends to shout this and most covers out there have the same problem. But Floor sings it so perfectly and at the same time she makes it her own.

Oh God my daughter is going to love this. She is the world's biggest Frozen fan and absolutely adores you. Her favourite Nightwish song is 'Bammerdebam', named after the Ghost Love Score-intro. She is 5 but watches Nightwish-concerts (okay, with me, her dad) with a microphone in one hand and doing devil horns with the other, telling me that she would never dare to perform in front of thát many people, only if i come with her. Couldn't be more proud.

Funny thing, I have a strong feeling that Floor is singing about herself. I have known the Nightwish for a long time, but I only found out about Floor a week ago. Since then I have watched over 100 reactions to her performances and all these reactions appeared within 1 year. Then I watched dozens of interviews with Floor and the band. After that, I came to the conclusion that over all these years of a musical career, neither Floor nor the Nightwish band received proper recognition, just because the style in which they play their music is not mainstream. And now, apparently, people finally understand how talented these musicians are. And this song is about Floor, about how being yourself you can achieve recognition regardless of the opinions of others. Read the lyrics thinking about 20 years of this amazing vocalist's career and how people really noticed her just now. Bravo Floor!
P.S. I bought tickets for both Nightwish concerts in Russia. Hope to see everyone and prepare some small gifts.

I like it about Nightwish that they were never afraid to cross the boundaries of the genre and Floor does the same, even if it's just her daughter's favorite song stucked in her head :) Now I see 10 reactions to this video from metalheads and they obviously don't know what say about it. People are so insecure when it comes to musical tastes. It seems to me that many people put their involvement in the genre above the usual pleasure of beautiful music. And this is another reason that Nightwish stands out even among metal lovers, just because they have very soft songs. P.S. Sorry if some phrases I wrote is not clear, I'm non-native english speaker :)
Metal will probably never be mainstream in some (western)countries unfortunately, but since the tvshow in the Netherlands she got more recognition from the mainstream music enthousiasts here. And singing different songs will help also. Maybe she will sing the phantom soon in NW
@@fixxa6455 I agree, most likely metal will never be a mainstream genre and that's okay for me. Personally, I have never been a fan of metal, I have always loved melodic music, of any genre, the main thing is to have a beautiful melody and meaning. However, even if you take Rammstein, who also play metal, their popularity is much higher than Nightwish, and this is a mystery to me. As Floor said in an interview, people don't even give this music a chance, they hear the word metal and imagine something terrible. But Nightwish's music is beautiful, melodic and positive. I'm glad Floor has become such a popularizer of the genre. I really think that this kind of music can make people better.

I had one issue with this song in the movie, which was how the last high note sounded. This cover completely fixes that problem. Being a metal cover is just an added bonus.
